Story

Ziva is a lucky dog! She was absconded in a rural area where she lived out in the open field for a few months. Locals put out food but she would never come close enough for them to grab her and get her to safety. Finally someone reached out to our friends at HOPE FOR PAWS and they went out there and were able to trap her. She appeared to have had puppies recently but they were nowhere to be found. Maybe the dumper kept the puppies and dumped her??? We just don’t know. She’s great with other dogs, cats and people of all ages. She does have a “momma bear” side to her and she will bark to alert you to strangers but she quickly calms down. She is affectionate but not needy, attentive and happy. Last photo is from where she was abandoned. She’s goofy and loving. Total Romantic.

A synonym for grace is kindness... and our Gracie is the very definition of both. On April 20th, we reached out for help for three severely neglected Collies—Gracie, Solomon, and Sam—as well as a bottle feeder for two precious newborn puppies. Despite dedicated veterinary care and the unwavering commitment of their foster, the puppies sadly did not survive. Their sweet mama, Gracie, did. Now this kind-hearted girl is ready to find the forever home she has always deserved. At 7 years old, Gracie's life hasn't been an easy one. She spent years living outdoors in filthy conditions, knowing very little human kindness. Today, she's discovering the simple joys every dog should have—a warm bed, a full belly, gentle hands, and people who love her. And she absolutely blossoms with human connection. When asked to describe Gracie in one word, her foster didn't hesitate: "Kind." Gracie gets along well with other dogs, though she still carries a bit of her mama personality and may gently correct bad behavior when she sees it. She is crate trained, leash trained, and eager to please. Because she has had limited exposure to the world outside her previous environment, she is still learning about new sounds, places, and experiences. Her ideal home is one that will continue showing her patience, love, and guidance as she discovers how wonderful life can be. Gracie isn't the kind of dog who demands endless games of fetch. Instead, she's looking for something much more meaningful—a companion to share life's quiet moments with. Whether as a friend to another dog or as someone's cherished princess, Gracie is ready to give her whole heart to the people who give her a chance. What can we say about Wally? Well, despite his face, he is 100% not a corgi. We dunno what he is but it’s not that. He’s actually a bigger boy than he looks at first. He’s very sweet, seems to be a medium energy level (but he mighta been lying) and a terrific hugger. He does this adorable tail vibration thing when he gets activated by something that is super unique. He’s a little serious in the shelter, but we can tell his inner goofball is in there somewhere, just waiting for an outlet. He’s really curious, and a big fan of getting brushed actually- we did that for a good while. He’s gonna need humans who can handle his size, help him find his confidence, and take him on adventures so his curiosity can be satisfied. He also appreciates being told how pretty he is and what great ears he has- so that will be a daily (or hourly) requirement for his forever humans. I adopted Showtime from a shelter in August of 2024. Showtime is about 3 years old. While at the shelter, he was a “volunteer favorite”. He is good with most dogs but not cats. He is friendly with adults but behavior with children is unknown. He loves toys, especially chew toys. Showtime needs a lot of stimulation like frequent walks which I’m unable to do because he pulls and my experience with large breeds is limited. He needs someone that is patient and has the resources to train him to walk better. Showtime is very alert, he probably would make a very good search and rescue dog. I want Showtime to find his match so that he can thrive and live his best life!
