Story
Very loving rescue dog, about 4-5 years old. Excellent guard dog but needs fenced yard if living in neighborhood. We used the invisible fence and it worked well. 100% trained - crate trained, comes to name, house trained, can sit, lay down, shake, etc. No chewing issues and very little shedding. Loves to be loved. We hate to have to rehome him and need to know he will be taken care of.

Bandit is a wonderful dog, very loving and protective. Great guard dog! He's fully trained- house trained, crate trained, commands, and even stays off furniture. He loves to be loved. Comes when called but would do best with a fenced yard

Story
Toby was rescued off the Urgent list from being euthanized! He is the friendliest boy! He is a year old, and we believe he's a Heeler X Husky mix. Toby enjoys giving kisses and giving you his paw, and will occasionally jump up to give you a hug but he is very gentle. He listens well to No and we think he'd be an easily trainable dog. He doesn't make much noise and doesn't howl. He does amazing with everyone, even kids. Toby is potty trained as long as he goes out two-three times a day. He walks well on a harness/will pull with just the collar. He was animal tested at the shelter, and did well with other dogs. Toby doesn't like being crated but gets destructive when being left alone, when being alone he started to tear up our carpet. Unfortunately, being in a rented townhome this isn't the best situation for him. We love him and think he is probably bored, he may need another dog (or more active person). A fenced in yard/somewhere for him to run/or a playmate would be great for him!

Story
Interview with Dash:Interviewer: How did you arrive to the Animal Shelter? Dash: Well, I was walking down the street looking for leftover Thanksgiving scraps when I noticed that someone pulled their vehicle over to the side of the road. I assumed they had some scraps for me, so I walked up to them and jumped into their vehicle and guess what, no scraps, how rude!!!! The man who picked me up told me that he didn’t want me to get hurt and took me to the Animal Shelter. Interviewer: Did you like being at the Animal Shelter? Dash: At first no, because there were a lot of rowdy dogs in the area I was staying at. It scared me a bit and I just stayed to myself, but then one day I went out for a walk and they put me in the Administrative Supervisors office, which was awesome. I went from a small apartment to a condo! A big upgrade. Interviewer: What has changed since you arrived at the Animal Shelter?Dash: A lot has changed! When I arrived at the Shelter, I was heartworm positive. I went into a foster home while going through my treatment. Thankfully, my treatment has been completed and starting March 15th, I can return to my normal activities, like playing fetch with a tennis ball and going for long walks! I cannot wait, I’m so excited for this day to arrive. Also, my foster parent wanted to adopt me, which I was super excited about because she has been one of the best foster parents that any dog could ask for, but unfortunately with inflation and being on a limited income, she cannot adopt me. But that’s okay because my forever family is out there, I just know it.Interviewer: What do you look for in a family?Dash: Okay, I am going to be a little picky here. I am a woman’s man, but if the woman I adore has a man in her home, I’ll be okay with that ONLY under these circumstances: 1) Men like to wear these weird things on their heads that scare me sometimes. My foster parent told me those are called “hats”. Not sure what they do, but they sure do scare me and prefer they not be worn when I’m around. 2)No loud power tools in my presence. Those things scare me too.Other than those 2 circumstances, I should be perfectly fine with a male in the home. What will not work for me is children. They scare me as well. Anytime I get scared, I tend to nip at their shoes. I guess it’s the Heeler in me that makes me do that. I am not a fan of cats and I have never met a dog before, so I`m not sure how I`d do with them.Inter

Story
**Home for the Holidays adoption special.  Half price adoption fee through December 31st     Smart, spirited, and full of heart - Levi Ahoy is a handsome cattle dog mix looking for his perfect match!   Levi is the kind of dog who wins you over with his quick mind and big, expressive eyes. He’s eager to learn, super responsive to training, and loves having a job to do. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, brain games, or a good game of fetch, Levi will be right there beside you, tail wagging and ready to go.   Levi loves his people deeply, but can feel stressed if he’s cornered or if his boundaries aren’t respected. He thrives in a calm, understanding home where he’s given space to warm up at his own pace. For that reason, he’s looking for an adult-only home (no young kids, please). The great news is, Levi is wonderful about communicating when he’s uncomfortable and is easily called away or redirected. He really wants to get it right and listens beautifully once he trusts you.   He’s likely housebroken, enjoys being outdoors, and has plenty of energy for walks, hikes, or backyard zoomies. He’s also got a sensitive side. Levi can be a bit picky with food, but when it comes to playtime and affection, he’s all in.   Levi Ahoy is ready to find someone who appreciates his smarts, respects his space, and loves him for the amazing, loyal companion he is. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and fill your life with adventure, Levi might just be your guy.
