Story
Meet your new best friend, Catina — a sweet, mellow girl who is 5.5 years old and has a heart full of love and some of the best house manners around. She’s the kind of dog who settles easily into a home and quickly becomes everyone’s favorite companion. This lovely pup absolutely adores people and is happiest making new friends wherever she goes. She may get a little excited and jumpy when greeting someone new, but it’s all pure happiness and affection. At the dog park, while other dogs are busy wrestling and chasing balls, she’s usually making the rounds to collect pets and attention from every human she can find. She walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys her meals with enthusiasm, and has an easygoing personality that makes living with her a breeze. Around the house, she’s calm and content to simply curl up nearby while her foster family relaxes. She’s not anxious, needy, or quirky — just a steady, loving companion who enjoys being close to her people. She’s crate trained, though she doesn’t really need one, and she does just fine when left alone for a little while. The only thing to note is that long car rides can make her a bit drooly or carsick, but otherwise she handles everyday life wonderfully. She does have some allergies that are well-managed with medication, and she takes it like a champ. Her foster family has found it very easy to keep her comfortable and happy. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate dog with a calm spirit, great manners, and lots of love to give, she may be exactly the missing piece your family has been waiting for.      If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Our standard adoption fee is $450. This fee helps us to cover (and sometimes only partially cover) the expense of providing each dog with a Health Exam, Rabies/DHPP vaccines, Heartworm Test, Heartworm Preventative, Flea & Tick Protection, Microchip, Neuter/Spay, a Bath and any other medical needs.  Thank you for your consideration in adopting a collie in need!!! Story
Charlie is a good dog who got a bad start.  We have no knowledge of his history and where he came from, but we are pretty sure he has not lived in a house with people.  When he first came to us, he hid from the dishwasher, barked at the television and ran away when first presented with stuffed toys.  He remains easily spooked by noise, but is improving – getting used to the dishwasher, the television, the stuffed dog toys and other day-to-day items in the house.  Physically, he was in pretty bad condition - He was positive for tick illnesses (we gave him Doxy and he is doing bettter now), his coat and skin were in horrible condition (we've given him good nutrition and he's looking a lot better), his teeth were Grade 3 dental disease (we gave him a dental and they are all clean now)!  Charlie weighs about 63 lbs. Charlie is a quick learner, and is adapting to life in a home with his foster collie sister.  He is learning commands and is starting to recognize his name.  We do not crate him, but leave it open and he often sleeps in there.  He is respectful of the house and items in it, and does not jump on the furniture.  He is very cooperative - He pretty much will stand still for almost anything if you ask him to especially if you scratch him – he loves to be scratched.  He grooms well, and is very affectionate.  His fur is growing in nicely since he needed to have some extensive matting shaved.   He’s very focused on understanding and fitting into his new environment.  He watches intensely and you can see the wheels turning as he tries to figure it all out.  He is interested in other dogs and people, and has shown no aggression toward either – but he will bark in the backyard at passing people (and squirrels) with his sister, who loves to do that.   Charlie is quite smart and very eager to please. We estimate his age to be about 6 years old.  If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Our standard adoption fee is $450. Story
Lenny is a fairly new arrival to his foster home, and he is doing great! He is a well-mannered adult collie, housebroken, smart, and loving. He plays well with his collie foster siblings and is great at turn taking. He is very much a Velcro dog, following his foster mom everywhere she goes! He’s affectionate and gives little kisses. Lenny loves hiking in the snow, and bursts into play regularly! He’s a neutered male and is doing well with dogs of all genders and ages. He is very polite in the house, knows “sit,” walks well on a leash, and rides well in a car. In public he is confident and curious and wants to meet all the people! If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Story
Meet Duffy — a gorgeous young collie with a bright smile, a playful spirit, and so much love to give to the right family. Born on October 13, 2024, Duffy is still very much a puppy at heart. At home with the people and dogs he knows, he is affectionate, silly, and incredibly loving. He adores snuggling on the sofa, handing out enthusiastic kisses, and spending his days playing with his canine friends. He would absolutely thrive in a home with another young, playful dog and a large fenced yard where he can run, wrestle, and burn off his youthful energy. Duffy is also a smart and well-mannered boy. He is neutered, housebroken, well trained, and generally a wonderful house companion — though he does occasionally enjoy “redecorating” with any paper products he can find. Like many young dogs, he’s still discovering what counts as a toy! What Duffy truly needs, though, is a patient and understanding adopter. New people and unfamiliar environments can make him nervous, and he tends to express that uncertainty by barking. He is not aggressive at all, but he does need time, slow introductions, and consistency in order to feel safe and comfortable. Once he trusts you, his sweet and loyal personality shines through beautifully. Duffy is not the kind of dog who will walk into a new home and instantly act like he’s lived there forever. He’s the kind of dog whose trust is earned — and for the right person, that bond will be incredibly rewarding. Watching him grow in confidence and blossom into the happy, loving companion he wants to be is something very special. He’s also going to be absolutely stunning as he matures. Already tall and handsome, Duffy’s full collie coat is still coming in, and he is only getting more beautiful with age. Duffy is looking for a calm but active home, a playful dog companion, and people who understand that some sensitive dogs simply need a little extra time and patience. In return, he’ll give endless affection, loyalty, laughter, and love. Story
Handsome, playful, and full of personality, Zane is a young boy who's ready to find a family of his own! Zane loves to run and show off his joyful zoomies around the yard. He's an active, fun-loving dog who enjoys playtime and would love a home where he can stretch his legs and be part of the family's adventures. When it comes to mealtime, Zane is a dream—he's a great eater with no food issues. He's also crate trained, housebroken, and comes when called, making him an easy companion to have in the home. Zane does enjoy playing with other dogs, but he can be selective about his canine friends, especially during first introductions. Because of this, we believe he would be happiest as the only dog in his new home, where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. Overall, Zane is a very nice boy with a sweet nature and so much love to give. He's looking for a family that will appreciate his playful spirit, continue his training, and make him a cherished member of the household. Could Zane be the missing piece of your family? He can't wait to meet you!If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Our standard adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Scout! Scout's story is one of resilience, hope, and an unbreakable spirit that refuses to give up despite the hand he has been dealt. This striking young man deserves a chance to show the world exactly who he is — and with the right person beside him, there is absolutely no limit to what he can become. His Story We may not know every detail of Scout's past, but what we do know tells us enough. This handsome boy was failed by the people who should have protected him. Living in a home with two other unneutered, aggressive males, Scout was left to navigate a volatile and stressful environment with no guidance, no security, and no advocate. When his original owner decided he was no longer wanted, his plan was to simply release Scout onto the streets to fend for himself — until a compassionate Good Samaritan stepped in and refused to let that happen. Scout did not ask for any of this. He deserved better from the very beginning. But despite everything, this boy's capacity for love and trust remains beautifully intact — and that speaks volumes about the kind of dog he truly is. Who He Is Scout is a stunning 3-year-old Blue Heeler Australian Cattle Dog whose intelligence, loyalty, and energy are everything you would expect from this remarkable breed. Underneath the uncertainty of his past lies a dog who is: Deeply loving and affectionate toward the people he trusts Incredibly intelligent and eager to learn and grow ️ Calm and devoted once settled — nothing makes him happier than curling up beside you with his head in your lap Resilient and hopeful despite everything life has thrown at him His Energy & Needs ⚡ True to his breed, Scout is bursting with energy and drive. He is not a dog who will be content with a short stroll around the block. Scout needs and deserves: An active lifestyle with vigorous daily exercise and outdoor adventures Mental stimulation — puzzle toys, training sessions, and activities that challenge his brilliant mind A securely fenced yard with high fencing to keep him safe and give him space to run Consistent, structured training from someone who understands and appreciates the Cattle Dog breed Important Considerations Scout has had a difficult road and as a result there are some important things to know: No other dogs — Scout is currently dog reactive and must be the only dog in the home No cats or small animals No small children — his exuberant energy could accidentally knock little ones over ⚠️ Crate trained — though he gets very excited upon release and needs patience and guidance to settle initially ✅ Once calm he is wonderfully relaxed indoors and absolutely thrives on close human companionship What He Needs In An Owner Scout is not the right fit for everyone — and that is perfectly okay. He needs someone truly special: An experienced dog owner who understands high-drive working breeds Someone who is confident, patient, and consistent with training A person who can provide the love and security Scout has always deserved but never truly had An active individual or couple who will embrace an adventurous lifestyle alongside him Someone who sees not just who Scout is today but who he has the potential to become His Current Situation Scout is currently in his third foster home. Through no fault of his own, each placement has been unable to fully meet his physical and mental needs. His current foster cares deeply for him and wants nothing more than to see Scout find the home where he can finally exhale, settle, and truly thrive. He is running out of temporary stops — what Scout needs now more than anything is his permanent place in the world. His Health ✅ Scout is healthy and ready for his next chapter: ✅ Neutered ✅ Heartworm negative ✅ Up to date on all core vaccinations ✅ Housetrained ✅ Crate trained The Bottom Line Scout is not a project — he is a promise. A promise that with the right home, the right lifestyle, and the right human by his side, he will become the most devoted, loving, and remarkable companion you have ever known. He has already survived so much. He has already shown so much grace. All he needs now is one person to believe in him and give him the life he has always deserved. "Without the training and the right lifestyle, the odds are against him — but with them, Scout has every chance of being extraordinary." Are you Scout's person? He has been waiting for you — and he is so ready to finally come home.   Contact foster directly at 703-994-0669 or bkohan2018@hotmail.com as this is a guest posting.
