Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › STOP SCROLLING! Caden is a young Heeler mixed who loves people as much as he loves treats. Caden came to DASH with several other dogs from a rural shelter where he was on the short list for euthanasia. He is currently in our DASH Prison Program where his trainer says he is very bright, affectionate and a happy pup. "Caden is the sweetest pup I've ever had. He greets everyone and loves attention. He knows all of his cues and is well socialized. AWESOME DOG". He loves cuddling and taking naps with his person but only after a good fetch session or a brisk walk. Caden is a calmer boy who has lower energy and very affectionate with his humans. He is friends with everyone and all dogs. Caden is housetrained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He is very food motivated which has made him easy to train however, he can be food greedy and doesn't know when to stop eating. He is more than ready for his furever home where he would make an incredible companion". Due to his current foster placement he has not been introduced to children of any age or cats, so proper introductions to both are needed. A year ago I was found in a box with no mom in sight and sent to a Texas shelter. Speak for the Unspoken broke me out of doggy jail and brought me to Ohio. My short young life had been extremely hard so when I arrived at my foster home I was terrified of everything and almost completely shut down. Over time and with lots of patience my foster family gained my trust and showed me that life isn’t so scary. My furry foster siblings also gave me confidence to be brave and explore. My foster Mom is extremely proud of all the progress I’ve made over the last year. She says I’m ready to find my forever family to keep building the confidence and trust I need to fulfill my full potential. So let me tell you all about me! Today I am a happy bouncy dog that LOVES to play. Toys are the best. I enjoy tugging on a rope, chasing balls, destroying any stuffy in site, oh…..and my new favorite trying to catch a frisbee. Being chased by my foster siblings with a toy in my mouth is always a bonus. Playing “keep away” is fun. After playing I enjoy curling up on a soft pillow or couch to rest. I also love sleeping next to someone in bed at night. That way I know I’m not alone. If you need an assistant in the kitchen I’m here to help. Picking up dropped food is my specialty . I especially like carrots and cheese. It’s a good way to build my trust. My forever family will need to have patience and an understanding that it will take time for me to trust. Another dog with my energy level in the home is best to help me navigate my new situation. Plus, I really don’t care for cats and am very focused on catching small animals. So a dog only home is required. New situations are still scary for me. So a fence is a must, to keep me safe.I promise if you have the time and patience I will show you the bouncy, happy, silly and loyal boy that I truly am. I am neutered and up to date on all my vaccinations. Story
Meet Costata! This adorable little lady is ready to find her fresh start with a furever family. Costata is spunky, playful, and simply adorable! She appears to be potty trained and knows some basic skills including "sit", "shake", and "drop it". She is very food motivated, and will do anything for a tennis ball! Costata is still a little nervous with strangers, especially men, so she is looking for a family that will give her time to warm up. She would do best in a home without men. Once she is comfortable with you Costata is simply perfect, and will follow you everywhere! She has done well with other dogs and cats. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Costata home. If you are interested in meeting Costata, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit.
