Welcome to the Wonderful World of Rescue Dachshunds.  Look around and read their bios.  Find a few whose personality seems to fit well.  Consider one of our Well Seasoned Seniors who are truly wonderful and have so much to offer.  Need help finding the best fit?  We'll help with that too.  Please fill out an application and let’s get you all matched up with a loving new “furever’ companion and friend. You’ll find the application on the “Available Dogs” page.  NOTE:   Adoptions to Central/South Texas residents only    Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Meet Bella Hope! This 11-year-old chiweenie is a pint-sized bundle of joy with the biggest ears and eyes that melt your heart! We think when she gives us the “stare” she’s just trying to hypnotize us to give her extra treats! She has the softest, quirkiest quack of a bark! She loves to burrow under ALL the blankets and occasionally serenades us with the cutest little snores during her beauty sleep. Bella does wear a diaper held up by suspenders because, let’s face it, her little bohiney is just too petite! After several vet visits and extensive bloodwork for diabetes, Cushing’s, and even kidney and bladder issues , there is nothing medically wrong with her. We suspect her potty-training issues are more neurological due to the fact her first 5+ years of her life she lived in an apartment and never went out to potty. But fear not, the diapers are easy to change, come in a lot of fun colors, and don’t bother her one bit! She zips around like a champ! Please consider giving this precious little girl a home. She is very loving, cuddly, easy-going, and overall simply a joy to be around!                   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org Meet Rosie Lulu.  This tiny 6.5 pound Chiweenie puppy is already stealing hearts.  She was found as a stray with an injured leg but that doesn't slow her down one bit.  Rosie is incredibly sweet, smart and full of puppy curiosity.  She's learning the ropes of being a beloved companion and is sure to bring joy to anyone lucky enough to have her! Rosie loves to play so another puppy or small dog would be great.  She also loves to cuddle in your lap.  She is sleeping in the big bed but could learn a kennel or bed beside your bed. Rosie loves her toys! She can squeak her toys all day!! She hasn’t yet torn one up! Rosie had to have her front left leg amputated.  It was too badly broken to save. She has recovered and is doing great! As soon as she came home after her surgery, she was so happy!  She must've been in such pain!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. She is a very sweet girl who loves any and all affection. She does well with dogs of different sizes and energy levels. She is a bit scared of the dog door, we are working on getting over that but she hasn’t had any accidents in the house. Her left ear seems to be permanently sticking straight up which is very cute.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. He even played ball nicely with the foster Mom's niece.  He isn't a velcro dog, he doesn't have to be attached to your hip.  He doesn't have any problems sitting in the living room or bedroom alone without you.  He does like to know where you are at though.  He loves to take walks.  He is picky with his food and likes to sleep with the lights very dimmed or off. Email:  ddrtxinfo@gmail.com                 Primary Website:  www.DDRTX.org I'm a lively 6 year old girl who loved to be around my people. and go for walks when I can. I'm the ultimate protector and will check all the corners of the home to insure your safety.  I would prefer to be the center of your universe though as I do have trouble playing with others. It would take some time and proper introductions for me to be around other pups like me.  I will chase any cat, squirrel or bird our of your yard too.  I do well in a crate and once everything has been inspected, I will go and relax with my bed and blanket.  Balls are my favorite, they light up my world and I will run and play with them when I can.  When I came to live with my foster family it was determined that I had skin allergies that wasn't taken care of.  Doc has me all better and with a little help of Benadryl and Fish Oil my coat is super shiny and soft now.  I would make an excellent companion for someone willing to spend some time with me.   Layla weighs 22 pounds.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
