Story
Introducing Henry!Henry is a 1 year old Dachshund mix who is 11 lbs of love (he could stand to gain a few pounds). He has adjusted to his foster home so quickly. He is living peacefully with a dog and cat in his foster home and we have fallen head over heels for this confident, curious, and snuggly fellow. Henry has been doing all his business outside (although he is getting regular potty breaks) and slept quietly through the night. He is walking well on leash and this energetic boy can walk a good distance. He`s a lap dog but loves his exercise and sniff time.We are looking forward to finding the perfect forever home for this lovable boy!You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/JrsPupsNStuffInc Ask to meet me today!! Adoption fee: $600 All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an online application at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Additional details about who we are, what we do and how to adopt can be found on our website. Story
About Me: Name: Eauntie Huni Breed (or best guess): Dachshund Mix Approximate Age: 13 years Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 13 lb Adoption Fee: $400 Requirements: Loving Family Why In Rescue: Transfer Profile:  This cute girl came to us from our rescue partner in Texas to give her a chance at a home.  Her owner passed away and she went into another home, and then her new owner had to go into assisted living and couldn't keep Huni any longer.  She sadly gave her up hoping she could get a great home in WI.  She is in a foster home now, but not real thrilled about the number of active dogs in the home.  She would prefer a quieter home where she is the only dog or maybe another older dog.  If interested in this sweet old girl, fill out the pre-adoption application at www.bichonrescues.com so we can set up a time for you to meet her.   We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS April 12, 2025, 2:57 pm

Story
Mr. Pickles was born in May 2013 and has been with the same owners since he was a puppy. He likes to play with squeaky toys and go on walks so he can chase squirrels and sniff. He is a stereotypical dachshund most of the time. I recommend you understand their characteristics/needs before adopting. They are quirky and stubborn but also very loyal and loving companions. It will take some time to warm up to new people but once he does, he loves affection, being pet and relaxing on the couch with his human. We recommended he be the only pet so he doesnt need to compete for attention. Unfortunately, he is not doing well with a baby in the house. He has always been kind of anxious and will bite if scared or someone gets in physical space. He is also having potty issues cureently although he's house-trained. It has been stressful for everyone. Preferably adopter is home often while he adjusts. He takes meds for an inflammatory condition but it's controlled. We will pay for a few months supply

Story
Odie is a sweet senior pup looking for a patient and understanding home. He’s a low-energy guy who enjoys short walks and spending time near his favorite people. While he likes being pet, he isn’t overly affectionate and prefers not to be picked up. He can be a little skittish at times, especially with sudden movements, but he’s a gentle soul who just wants to feel safe. Odie gets along well with other dogs and would do fine in a home with canine companions. He was loved by his previous owner, but when she went into memory care, she could no longer care for him. Now, he’s adjusting to a new chapter and looking for a home where he can feel secure. He absolutely loves food, follows you around just to be near you. Odie isn’t a fan of being alone or spending time in a crate, so he’d do best with someone who is home often. Odie may not be a snuggly lap dog, but he’s a loyal companion who simply wants to be close to his person. If you’re looking for a quiet, easygoing friend who will keep you company without demanding too much, Odie could be the perfect match! Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.
