Meet Sarang ❤️ She is such an energetic and lively puppy! She is a big girl but she does so well living in small dog living quarters! Social with both people and dogs. 100 out of 100! 😆 * She needs some training for going for walks. She goes for walks but she crouches in fear when a car or motorcycle goes by. 😥 * She's affectionate! She loves people so much 💕 Anyone who wants to be with this lovely baby puppy from the start, apply today!!

Story
Sweet 9 months old pup RUSTY is an adorable pibble who is good with dogs, and people. He is playful as any young pup. He loves to go on walks and play with his doggie foster siblings. Rusty was rescued from a pound where he was scheduled for euthanasia, despite having an owner, who refused to come pick him up. Thanks to a foster, Rusty's life was saved. He is housebroken, current on his shots, neutered and microchipped. He is about 45 lb, heartworm negative and is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. Rusty is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Story
Animal Profile: Copper is an estimated 1-2-year-old, 80 lb neutered male red Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail that joined us from Georgia via Project Freedom Ride. He was originally picked up as a stray and at the shelter was evaluated to be very friendly with dogs and people. We will post more as we get to know him. Foster Update:  Copper is young and full of energy, but can be worn out easily with exercise and definitely has an off switch. He is cautious around new people, but once he warms up to them (or they give him a treat) he is very affectionate. He is able to make friends with other dogs after slow and proper introductions. With a confident handler, Copper is mostly non reactive to others on leash. He is good on leash, but could use some training; he leads but does not pull. He loves to chase after balls, but is still working on returning and dropping them. Adopter Profile: large breed experience, breed experience a plus! Single family dwelling with a securely fenced yard. No cats or small animals. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/Bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History:  This dog was picked by animal control in GA and pulled by PFR before being transported via Project Freedom Ride to Seattle, arriving to foster care on 10/22/22. This dog will be available for adoption in Seattle once evaluated.September 26, 2023, 5:42 am

Story
Animal Profile:  Simon is an estimated 10.5 month old male Dobie/Hound mix that a good samaritan in  south Texas  took in along with his 4 siblings. They joined us in the PNW  on 12/9.  Foster Update: Simon arrived from Texas in December emaciated, weighing just 30 pounds, and terrified of everything. Now a muscular 60 pounds, he's thriving in his foster home on a small farm with seven other dogs and three cats. He's high energy, playful, and very puppyish, Simon would love a forever home with space to run; another large, playful dog to help him burn off energy; plenty of toys and chews to entertain him (he loves ALL toys); and people who will appreciate and return his affection and his love of snuggling. Still prone to being anxious and barky with new people and new animals, Simon's family should be ready to continue working on his confidence in new situations, helping him overcome his stranger-danger, and teaching him appropriate boundaries. Food-oriented and eager to please, Simon is a quick learner who has the potential to be a good running buddy and enjoy dog sports like agility (once he's finished growing). He does well in his playpen or crate (with chews and toys to entertain him) when his people are away. He loves cats but wants to play with them, so could be overwhelming for a shy cat, but does well with dog-savvy cats who aren't afraid of his boisterousness. This sweet, expressive, affectionate boy has big love to give and will make a fabulous lifelong companion for someone willing to put in the work to help him be his best self.-- Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from OUR RESCUE PARTNER in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on X/X. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.September 26, 2023, 5:42 am

Story
Animal Profile: Bingo is a young male blue Doberman who was picked up as a stray in Bakersfield and taken to the overcrowded shelter where he was euthanasia listed for space. The shelter estimated his age as two based on a quick exam, but in foster care he appears to be less than one year old. At the shelter, he was pretty shy and shut down, which is typical for the breed, but still friendly to people and dogs. He joined us on 11/27 and we will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Bingo is a young and active boy; he loves to play with other dogs and is friendly with all people, though he can be shy upon first meeting. He is currently being fostered with other dogs and young kids and gets along well with everyone. Bingo can be possessive of his food and toys, and should be fed separately from other dogs until he knows his place in the pack. Bingo has no issues resource guarding with people. He currently eats his meals by hand during training or from a slow feed bowl in his crate. He has been to doggy daycare playgroups with large groups of dogs of all sizes and done well with everyone. Bingo is potty trained, and walks well on leash with a confident handler. He’d be an excellent jogging, hiking or biking companion! This young and active boy is so very handsome and has a typical Doberman velcro personality. He also loves his sweater and curling up into little spaces. Bingo does have prey drive and will need a home without cats. Bingo is also very vocal in the crate without a training collar; he may do okay in a kennel run but that wouldn't be an option in inclement weather. He would not be suitable in an apartment or space with shared walls. Adopter Profile: Real talk, Bingo has been adopted and returned 3x, two of the adopters had him less than 72 hours. He has spent most of the last 9 months in the Director's house with 6 dogs and three kids under 4. He's a nice dog but he's not an easy dog. With that said, do you have the patience of a Saint? Better yet, are you a long lost relative of the actual Mother Theresa? Alternatively, are you deaf? If so you could be an ideal fit for Bingo. Problem #1) Bingo has major FOMO. He will let you know by barking his head off. He is e-collar trained but many folks aren't into using a bark collar (unless you like to get sleep or not listen to barking all day). Bingo is fine with a bark collar on, but if you don't put it on or forget to charge it, he will quickly remind you the second you don't include him in something he thinks he should be included in. He may eventually be OK to be left outside the crate, but one of his three adoption returns stated that when left alone he ate the carpet. He doesn't really have separation anxiety because he's actually very good in the crate when he knows it's non-optional. It's the options, for him, that are troubling. Problem #2) Also, another conundrum: Bingo LOVES to play with other dogs and is actually very social. But he's a bit of a punk and will posture over toys and even thresholds (doorways). He would benefit (for his own psyche) from a pack, but is a lot to manage. Luckily he has easy tells; if you know dogs you can see when he starts being a stinker and quickly interrupt it. He's never caused harm to another dog. But he's not a Kumbaya dog. His best match will be a very confident male or female of any size. Second best match would be a super beta dog. Problem #3) Finally, Bingo loves attention and to snuggle and all the Doberman things. But the more you do of this the worst problems 1 and 2 get. So, there's that. His best attribute? He has zero human aggression. Even when wrestling him like a bear for a bath, he has never offered to bite. So at least he has that going for him. We know his unicorn is out there. * fingers crossed * Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter (neutered Dec 2022), core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was found as a stray and rescued from euthanasia at Bakersfield Shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/27. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.September 26, 2023, 5:42 am

Story
Animal Profile: Axel is a 3-year-old (DOB 8/24/20) neutered male black/rust Doberman with natural ears a docked tail. He currently lives in a home with other dogs, and kids and does well with all. Axel was surrendered to DGS because when bored/unsupervised he had a bad habit of eating rocks, which has ended up in the emergency room three times for surgery. Luckily since joining us in foster care he has not once shown a desire to put anything inappropriate in his mouth. Axel is a well balanced friendly Doberman who does well meeting new people and loves his family. He is social with dogs and does best with off leash intros, and is respectful of dog-savvy cats too. He does need a bit of exercised and would do great at bike joring or with any activity that was mentally/physically stimulating. His PICA is due to boredom and lack of supervision and he will need an owner dedicated to aversion training and/or management to prevent any further incidents. Axel is house trained, crate trained, has basic obedience training and is good on leash. We'd like to see him with a family with breed experience and willing to provide mental/physical stimulation and training to address the rock eating.  Adopter Profile: Large breed experience required Breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs OK Dog savvy kids OK Dog savvy cats OK Respectful kids OK Fenced yard not required Foster Updates: Stay tuned for details. Adoption Info: Axel's adoption fee is $550, which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: Axel was purchased from a breeder and lovingly raised with a family since he was a puppy. He was neutered around 18-months and has had 3 obstruction surgeries. His family has to surrender him due to financial circumstances/new baby. We are currently seeking a foster for Axel in the greater Seattle area. September 26, 2023, 5:42 am
