Story
Jack is an 8 yr old shep mix although I have never done dna so not entirely sure. He is currently in search of a home that is quieter than our place. He is pretty low maintenance; likes his walks and cuddles. He would love to hang outside or inside with his people. Jack has never had a person of his own. I work with dogs and always have multiple dogs in the home whether foster or client dogs. This life is pretty stressful on him as he likes some dogs but not all. We have been through a lot together but our life is vastly different than when I first brought him home and I am hoping to find a home where he can be someone’s #1 buddy. He loves to hike but also is happy to be a couch potato. Kids are overwhelming for him so an adult only home would be best. He loves playing with stuffies but never chews inappropriate things. He is loyal and loves his people. It is heartbreaking to think about rehoming but I also want to give him the chance to find a home where he thrives.

Story
HI - I'M CARTER, a sweet, loving and strong 3-year-old Doberman/Shepherd mix. I was originally rescued from a California shelter and am now in a foster home in Washington! I'm a dream dog! I am house-trained and crate trained (I love my crate), great with other dogs, and am currently learning how to get along with horses. I love running, playing with my squeaky toys, going for walks and cuddling with humans. If you let me, I'll share your bed! I have an easygoing and funny personality, and am looking for someone to offer me a safe and comfortable home. I would do well with a fenced yard as I love to do the zoomies! I'm super smart and I learn quickly: I know the commands of "easy" (when I'm getting a treat), "stay" and I am learning to sit on command. I would thrive in an active, calm, family-oriented environment. I would do well with a single person, a couple or a family. I love kids and other dogs, and would love to wrestle with teenagers! I can also be low energy as I love to lay around and relax, too. I weight 68 lbs. I will soon be needing a new foster, too, so if you can foster or adopt me, please email for an application. I'm a great dog!

MEET DARLA! Darla is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old purebred Doberman Pinscher, currently in a foster home in Seattle. (Purebred verified by DNA testing). She is elegant, pretty and very affectionate -- and she gets along great with other dogs. Darla was rescued from a crowded California shelter. She is a well-behaved and strong girl, who will pull when she sees squirrels on a walk! Darla is in good health though could gain a bit of weight. Darla is good with most dogs, and will be totally devoted to her person. She is a gem and whomever adopts her will be very lucky. She weighs about 69 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Animal Profile: Meet Bingo – A Loyal, Loving, and Quirky Doberman Looking for His Perfect Match! Bingo is a handsome blue male Doberman with a big heart, a goofy personality, and a strong attachment to his people. He’s been through multiple homes but continues to be a resilient and affectionate dog who just needs the right environment to thrive, so please read his profile carefully. He has been with the rescue for over two years now, and after multiple failed adoptions we have taken the time to fully understand the kind of home Bingo needs. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a ride or die companion who will keep you on your toes, Bingo might be the one for you! Things To Love About Bingo &#226&#156&#148 Sweet & Affectionate – Loves to snuggle, lean into his humans, and never lets a free hand go to waste. &#226&#156&#148 Great with People – Friendly with adults and children (has spent the majority of his foster time with small children). &#226&#156&#148 Dog Social (With Management) – Loves playing with other dogs but does best as the only pet in the home. &#226&#156&#148 House Trained – Fully potty trained, non-destructive once settled, and walks well on a leash. &#226&#156&#148 Smart & Trainable – Quick learner, e- collar trained but will do just about anything for a treat, and he has great recall! &#226&#156&#148 Active but Not High-Energy – Enjoys a good play session or walk but equally enjoys couch life. &#226&#156&#148 Confident Watchdog – Protective of his home and people but is not aggressive. Bingo’s Needs & Challenges Best as an Only Pet – While he enjoys playing with dogs, he struggles with resource guarding at home (only with dogs). He has spent the last seven months living with two resident dogs with strict management but is happiest as the only pet. An experienced owner who understands dog body language is essential. Highly Food Motivated (and Opportunistic!) – Bingo is a world-class counter surfer and has no shame in stealing food if given the chance. He requires firm boundaries around food. Slow Transitions Required – Bingo has a history of separation anxiety when adjusting to a new home. While he can now be left alone for long periods without issues, his new family must allow him 3-4 weeks to adjust. Not Crate-Tolerant – Bingo has significant crate-related stress. While he can be crated in an Impact Crate with a bark collar for short periods, he does best in a home where crating isn’t necessary long- term. Protective Instincts – True to his breed, Bingo is wary of strangers near his home and will bark, making him an excellent deterrent. However, he warms up quickly with proper introductions. Not Suitable for Apartments – Due to his loud bark and need for space, he requires a home with no shared walls. No Small Animals – He has a strong prey drive and cannot live with cats, chickens, or small pets. Experienced Handler Preferred – Bingo benefits from an adopter who understands dog behavior, particularly around body language and resource management. He thrives with clear leadership and structure. Foster Home Insights Bingo has been with our family for 7 months now. He is a sweet, playful and sometimes naughty guy, who loves cuddling up on the couch, romping around the yard, and doing just about anything for a treat. Before coming to us, he had 4 failed adoptions, some not lasting more than 72 hours. Bingo struggled with severe separation anxiety in his previous homes, often leading to destructive behavior. However, here he has adjusted well. He is rarely crated and has shown no destruction when left alone. I work from home so we were able to work up to long absences gradually, and now he can be left for 8+ hours when needed. His adopter will need to be patient during his adjustment period to set him up for success. Bingo currently lives with two other dogs (one male, one female). While he loves playing with other dogs, resource guarding has been a challenge when sharing a living space. He is prone to quick, intense reactions around food and valued items, making management essential. While he has improved significantly, it continues to be a source of conflict between the dogs. This only applies to other dogs, and he has never displayed any concern or aggressive behavior towards people, big or small, near food or toys. However, there have been times when Bingo gets to be an only dog while my husband takes the others, and boy is life easier. It is such a joy to see him thrive - he loves toys and gets to play with them in the house, happily chews a bone while I’m working or away, gets lots of love, etc. and honestly I think this is the best path forward for him. He is fabulous on a leash 95% of the time but requires a confident handler or can get a bit unruly around things he wants to get to. He has improved exponentially in new places, I’ve taken him to jobsites, busy public places like Alki, and many pet friendly stores, he has been great. It can be a little overwhelming for him at time, and he needs good leadership, but I think with more positive experiences and exposure, he could become a really well balanced dog. The Bottom Line I adore Bingo. He is so deserving of finding his “person” and if I didn’t have the other two I would keep him in a heartbeat. He’s not high energy, a good romp in the yard or brief walk does him just fine. Athletic enough to enjoy an active lifestyle but settles in the house. Not destructive besides the occasional kids toy. Sweet and affectionate, loves to cuddle and has perfected the dobie lean. Never lets an empty hand go to waste and always nuzzles his face in for pets. Playful and silly. Great recall, no desire to run off just wants to be with his people. Protective, house trained, the list goes on. His challenges to me are really about the management with other dogs, and his extraordinary counter surfing skills. And while he’s not a fit for every household, for the right adopter, he will be an incredible companion. He truly is a good dog at heart, and anyone who has ever loved a Doberman knows how much they thrive with a family to call their own. I continue to hold onto hope that his perfect match is out there—someone who will see him for the incredible dog he is and give him the loving home he’s been patiently waiting for.
