Meet Iris!! This beauty, Iris-A237795, an all white husky adolescent is available for adoption. You can see from her photos in her diary, she’s got personality and will bring endless smiles, boundless adventure, loyalty and love. Iris is 11 months old and will benefit from training, continued socialization, regular exercise and mental stimulation (including training, puzzles and games). Iris does enjoy jogging and it has been noted by volunteers she is easy to jog with and accommodates the human’s pace. Iris also loves to fetch, but giving it back is not always on her agenda.. so you need to get it back to keep the game going, a modified game of fetch and keep away. lol. Meet Mary….aka Mamma Mary, a four year old shepherd or Belgian Malinois available for adoption. Mamma Mary’s body shows what might have been a tough existence prior to coming to us. Her frame is bony under her fur, ribs are somewhat visible, more than they should be, her belly sags from nursing puppies we’ve never met… but we know she gave them everything she had. Needless to say, she deserves far better her next go around. Getting to know her, beyond her visible reminders of her past… she’s kinda a sweet, goofy, playful gal that likes closeness, pets, stuffed toys, being told she’s a good girl and lastly, absolutely loves treat!! Let’s remember that the past does not dictate the future… Mary, just Mary will be a phenomenal addition to a family that loves shepherds/belgian Malinois, can give her space, training, fair expectations, and lots of love and playtime. Sparky, A236870, a five year old chihuahua mix seeks warm, loving person to share walks, leisurely afternoons, sun soaked days in the shelter of shade and maybe the ocean breeze, cozy nights with nuzzles and cuddles. Sparky is pretty sweet… he’s a fabulous companion and he will steal your heart. Sparky, like most dogs does not find the shelter the most peaceful place, a little intimidating for a little guy, 12-15 lbs. Upon meeting Sparky, who looked so terrified in his kennel, he easily leashed up and followed along. It took just a couple minutes of letting him lay in a pile of comfy blankets while he ever so gently took some treats and he relaxed, his tail wagged and I saw the change, the fear evaporated. I knew then he was going to make someone an outstanding companion. He then proceeded to poke his nose into my hand for more pets, more love, more connection. He’s ready if you are! I see him being a great companion to empty nesters that want a new special boy to dote or that shy, soft, gentle child that knows dogs get her/him and their bond would be incredible. Wherever he ends up, we hope it’s a home filled with love, softness and peace. Donner is just 16 weeks old, a Belgian Malinois mix, he’s got pep, sass, sharp puppy teeth going through teething… he may be a bit to handle until he gets time to decompress from shelter environment but he’s also a sweetheart that wants to give kisses and cuddle. Yes, shelters are even tough on puppies. They should be getting lots of sleep and socialization at this age and when both are hard to come by… it shows.
