Story
Knox recently left the shelter and went to a foster home. He`s young, and inexperienced, but with support from his foster, he`s learning everything a great dog needs to know to be successful in a fur-ever home! Here`s what foster mom has to say so far: Knox has been in foster for a few days now, and he is learning a lot. He is already doing better with his enthusiastic greetings. We are working on it every day, and I would say he is about 40% better already. He is showing some fear of men, but there are two men in the foster home, so they have been playing with him and spending time with him to help him gain confidence around men. Slowly, Knox is starting to copy the other dogs in the home. He is even beginning to play a little with toys, which is great to see. He is no longer afraid of the car and now jumps right in.He`s working on potty training and leash walking. He`s such a smart boy, we`re sure he`ll be a quick study on both. He already knows how to `sit` and `lay down.`He is not very food-motivated, but the foster is starting to work on training with him. It looks like his previous owner played tug-of-war with him because he is very good at it. The foster is working on “drop it” because he needs to learn some self-control. He is picking up the concept very quickly.Overall, Knox is off to a great start in foster care. Story
Buster is a handsome 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing approximately 60 pounds. He is a sweet, social, medium-energy dog who walks well on leash, enjoys car rides, and loves playing with both large and small dogs. He currently does well with the resident Chihuahua mix in his foster home.Buster is potty trained in his foster home. Any change in environment and routine would require a transition period for Buster to acclimate and learn new routine and rules. Buster has good house manners and lives comfortably indoors. He enjoys an active day with room to run, followed by a relaxing evening snuggled beside his person. If you are interested in adopting Buster, please call Hitchcock Road Animal Services at 831-769-8850.See our website for the most up to date availability of both cats and dogs: hitchcockroadanimals.orgFollow us on Facebook and Instagram!
