Story
🐶 🐕 PERKINS (aka PERK) Special Needs Male Border collie Mix 7 years, 52 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Hi, my name is Perkins – just call me Perk - and I am about 7 years young. My Mom thinks I am a Border collie mixed with some type of guardian dog because I watch over my family and pack mates. I have notified them TWICE of rattlesnakes in our yard, barking loudly while keeping my pack mates at a safe distance away. Mom says I am a hero dog, as we have little kids and lots of dogs in our yard that need protection from dangers like that. Mom says I am special needs because I have some incontinence issues. I don't really know what that means. I let Mom and Dad know when I have to go potty, but when I am done, Mom says I leak. We've tried some different medicines and diagnostics, and Dad agrees it really isn't bad. When I hear the Velcro separate on my diaper I know its “free time” in the house. I stand still until I feel that little pat on my backside to signal it’s secure. Mom uses washable diapers, but I would probably do fine with other types as well. I don't like leaving my homestead, so when it's time for my checkup I get something special to help me relax. Everyone at the Vet’s office loves me and tells me what a good boy I am. Speaking of love, I love to chase a tennis ball. I may or may not bring it back depending on my whim at that moment. I also love to eat. Give me food, give me treats, YAY. I sit nice for my meals, which I always eat in my crate. I sleep quietly in my crate, but it's not my favorite place, and I will warn you if strangers are lurking outside because that’s my job. Oh, if you have that white stuff that’s cold, wet, and covers the ground that would be fun. I had a blast the one time it “snowed” here, that’s what my hoomans called it. Dad says he took the cutest video ever when I kept poking my nose out the doggy door, then retreated because what the heck is that? But once I was nudged out the door we had so much fun. I have been with my foster Mom and Dad for a few years and have helped with many of the other dogs and puppies that have come through our home, but I would also be fine as an only dog. I do enjoy playing at the other dog’s level. I wrestle with Skittles, because she is my size and she can take it, but I am gentIe with smaller dogs, or dogs not interested in that sort of thing. I am super friendly and loyal once I get to know you. I can be very vocal when I want something or when I am trying to warn you about something. I tolerate Mom's inside cats, but I don't like any cats in my yard. Mom says I need a cat-free environment for their benefit as well as mine (whatever that means). If you think you would be interested in me, and would like to learn even more about what makes me special, please submit an application so you can talk to my foster mom and dad (because we all know dogs can’t talk). Thank You, Perk PERKINS is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about PERKINS, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration. Story
Hello! We have here, Panda 😁. He is a sweet, playful, and just a tad clumsy puppy. Of a litter of from a dog we raised from puppy stage. We now have her children to give to loving homes, just as we got her 😊. Panda is roughly 6 months old. Born back in April. He is a CHUG. So a chihuahua/pug mix. Two different chihuahua breeds are present. Wired Hair Chihuahua, and Deer Leg Chihuahua. Hence his tall and extra furry appearance. We are looking to have Panda in a very loving home. One where there would be no worries of basic needs being met. But of course, endless amounts of love ❤️. He is a very playful loving puppy. He attaches himself to people or other animals very well. Easily qualifies for best buddy material 😋 We would love for him to receive, and help to create a family. Nothing more we want than to tell him he is home 🏠 Has both sequences of PARVO shots. First and booster. We tried to train as best as possible, 8 puppies was A LOT. So Panda will need a little extra.

🐶 🐕 GEORDIE Male Border collie Mix 11 months, 40 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Meet GEORDIE — your handsome adventure partner and social butterfly. Go ahead and swipe right — GEORDIE’s the total package. This approximately 10 month old, 40-pound Border Collie mix (possibly McNab x Border Collie) is smart, funny, slightly sensitive, and absolutely ready to make your life more fun. GEORDIE is the full Border Collie experience — clever, athletic, affectionate, and deeply loyal, all wrapped in a great sense of humor. He’s the guy who’ll race you up the trail, dive into the lake for a swim, pose perfectly for photos, and then melt into you for some well-earned couch cuddles. And yes… he’s really handsome. The kind of handsome that turns heads at the coffee shop and earns compliments everywhere he goes. GEORDIE loves life and everything in it — people, dogs, adventures, and new places. He thrives when he’s part of the action: coffee runs, brewery patios, farmers markets, or anywhere with good vibes and friendly faces. He also loves water and will happily splash, wade, or swim whenever he gets the chance. He enjoys other dogs of all sizes and would be thrilled to share his home and adventures with another friendly canine buddy. GEORDIE is house trained, crate trained, and rides well in the car. Whether snoozing at your feet after a busy day or hanging out in his crate (just make sure it’s a secure one — he’s clever enough to test the latch), GEORDIE is an easy and enjoyable companion. Underneath all that confidence and fun is that classic Border Collie sensitivity — the kind that makes him tuned in to your moods and eager to please. He’s happiest when included in your adventures and routines, showing off his smarts, his heart, and that megawatt smile. If your dog is looking for a canine friend with which to have fun, and you are looking for a dog who is as social as he is sweet, as adventurous as he is affectionate, and who’ll make every day a little brighter — GEORDIE is your guy. So go ahead… swipe right on GEORDIE. Your perfect match might just have four paws, a wagging tail, and a love for the water. GEORDIE is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. Story
🐶 🐕 FRAZZLE Female Border collie mix approximately 6 - 8 Years, 32 lbs & AVAILABLE – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 Say hello to Frazzle, a 6-8-year-old sprite of a girlie, who at 32# is small enough to pack around. Don’t let Frazzie’s “middle age” fool you: she is quite energetic, prancing when she runs and loving no activities more than playing fetch and tug-of-war. Frazzles loves toys; her balls and her rubber bone are top two choices. She can entertain herself with them on her own, but also likes to play with her people. Frazzle also loves to explore the backyard on her own or with her foster family. She will take herself for long, roaming adventures around the farm, coming when she’s called, even if reluctantly. While she loves play, running, and adventuring, Frazzle easily settles down for a nap after activity. And returning home after being away is truly her favorite thing! Frazzie loves being near her people, even sleeping at their feet or next to their bed. While she isn’t a snuggler, she cheerfully accepts all the pets she can get. She greets visitors/new people with a wagging tail and a meek approach. She has good manners with visitors, refraining from jumping up. She occasionally will bark at a new person, if she gets excited, but hers is a happy bark of welcome, not one of warning or protection. Frazzle wants to play with the other dogs in her pack, but her play style is excitable and can be annoying to them: trying to steal their toys, playfully growling, barking, and jumping around. While she likes and wants to engage with other dogs, she might do best in a single dog home or with a very tolerant, similarly engaged dog. Frazzle chases cats she sees outside. She knows the word "no" and mainly obeys when she hears it, so she might be able to be trained not to chase a cat in the house. To be safe, she would probably do best in a home without cats. Frazzle has not been exposed to children in her foster home. Frazzle can be crated, but she doesn’t like to be. Her foster family doesn’t crate her when they go away or at night, and she’s perfectly fine. She’s housebroken and doesn’t get into anything. She has nice house manners. Frazzle is a biddable dog, but she still has things to learn; for instance, not pulling when she is asked to walk on a leash or barking in excitement. Frazzle has a somewhat comical gait. And it certainly does not impinge on her activity and mobility; she can run, climb, etc. and for as long as she wants. She is not as crazy active as a typical working border collie—which for some folks would be a plus--nor is she a candidate for long bouts of forced exercise like running next to a bike or many-mile leashed hikes. That said, she can do anything an active companion dog can do. Frazzle is a delightful, happy dog, social and enthusiastic. She would love to find a home of her own, where she can play and explore with her people. A home where she can be someone’s darling girl. FRAZZLE is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about DAPHNE, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. FRAZZLE is fostering in Oroville in Butte County, CA.

Story
🐶 🐕 SKITTLES Female 4 years, 64 lbs & AVAILABLE Husky / BC mix – check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ 🐕 🐶 SKITTLES was a great mom to her 10, yes 10, awesome Sweets and Treats puppies, and now she is ready for her forever home. Once her babies were adopted SKIT really began to shine. She has come a long way from the pancaking, pregnant, and shy gal to the protective, correcting mom, to a friendly, outgoing gal we foster parents love. She gets along well with people and other dogs. She’s been fine around the cats, but with her husky bloodlines we’d still caution against a home with cats. SKITTLES is about 4 years of age, 64 lbs., with a thick medium coat. SKITTLES is crate and house trained. She has not pottied in the house since her “mom” days. She is now very comfortable in her crate (home and travel) during down and overnight sleep time. She knows “crate” and willingly goes in on her own as she knows it’s either meal or treat time. She knows sit, does ok with down, and has excellent recall even when distracted by people or dogs at the park next door. We are working on “off” as she likes jumping up (gently) on people, and does her share of licking the counters clean (we ensure no food is left for her to get) but responds well to direction. SKITTLES, after proper introductions, does well with people and other dogs. Once she trusts, she trusts completely. Treats and patience are the way to SKITTLES’s heart. She sits politely for pets, but she is not overbearing. When you stop she’ll find a dog bed or a spot on the floor and patiently wait for the next round...and the next…and the next. SKITTLES is happy inside or outside, wherever she has companionship. Sun, rain, snow…nothing deters her. She is happiest when her people accompany her outside (she’ll chase a ball or play keep away with a stick) and is almost as happy playing with her foster siblings. She especially enjoys Perkins, who plays to her energy level. She’d prefer a “Perkins-like” four legged companion to help her burn off energy, but would be fine as an only dog if you include yourself in all her activities, and she in yours. The more SKITTLES is included in your activities the quicker the bonding will occur. SKITTLES is micro-chipped, spayed, heartworm negative and on preventative, and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) and wish to inquire about SKITTLES, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.
