Story
Meet Layla! Layla is as independent as a teenager with a driver’s license—she knows where she’s going, thank you very much! This playful girl loves to run around the yard with excitement and will sit politely for a treat once she’s had her fun. She responds well to commands like “look,” showing she’s eager to learn and engage. Layla enjoys meeting other dogs and comes on strong with her greetings, quickly moving into play bows and roughhousing. She shows lots of submissive behaviors, rolling over and letting her playmates stand over her, but she also knows how to politely correct when boundaries are crossed.Layla is not touch sensitive, has an independent streak, and thrives with slow introductions to new friends. She would do best in a home without cats, but with the right canine companion, she’s a social butterfly who loves to play.If you’re looking for a confident, fun-loving dog who brings both energy and charm, Layla is ready to hit the road with you—license in paw!

Watch out for this next swim Olympian! Anya will spend all day in the pool with the occasional break to play some fetch of course. She`s still learning the ropes when it comes to basic commands and doggie manners, so she’d do best with someone who’s patient and committed to helping her grow through training and socialization with other pups.If you’re ready for a loyal, high-energy best friend who will keep you laughing and moving, Anya’s your girl. She’s got a heart as big as her zoomies—and she’s ready to dive into her forever home!

Story
GetALong Dachshund Rescue is delighted to present Lily! Lily is an 18 pound,  4 year old long haired cream beauty who is looking for a forever home. Please read on before applying to adopt Lily, to be sure that your home will be a good fit for this very special girl! Lily must be an only dog. She does not get along well at all with other dogs or cats. She has not been tested with children and for this reason she will only be available to a home with children 13 years of age and older. Lily loves to cuddle and be loved by her person! She is snuggly and loving in her foster home in Texas. Lily is a talker and will grumble and give love barks when she is looking for something special (like a cookie)! Lily will bark at every dog she sees out of the windows in her foster home. We suggest some behavioural training to help with this. Lily is house trained but like all dachshunds she requires a regular schedule. All rescue dogs go through a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Lily is crate trained and leash trained. She will bark on walks when she meets other dogs and people.  Lily is completely charming when it’s time to go into her crate and  she will roll on her back and demand tummy rubs first! This girl has priorities. Lily likes car rides but since coming into rescue she is a bit concerned that she may be left behind. It will take time for Lily to feel secure in her new home. Lily is an extremely loving girl who would like a home where she can be her family’s treasure.  She would like a home where she can sleep in the big bed and where her people could be home most of the time. This lovely girl is waiting for the right home!  Will you be the lucky one to bring Lily home? Apply today to adopt this gorgeous girl!
