Story
We do not have puppies regularly HOWEVER we do accept people for a puppy wait list. When a puppy (under 1 year) comes into rescue we will FIRST refer to the oldest name and date approved on our puppy list to see if they are still interested in a puppy. We work our way down from there, sometimes the first person waiting is ready other times we get to 3 or 5 names before we find someone. We can not stress this enough....get on the list. Sometimes people wait week or months for a puppy - that is just how rescue works. We never know what we are getting or when we are getting it. We encourage everyone to support rescue and to adopt not shop!   If you know that I am your forever pup, please fill out an adoption application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application. Don't forget to put my NAME on your application! If you cannot adopt me but would like to help DARE pay for my care before I am adopted by my forever family, donate online at https://daretorescue.org/donation or send a check made payable to DARE to:DAREPO Box 21161Tampa, FL 32210     Even if you do not see a dog that matches what you're looking for, you may fill out a no obligation application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application and we will work to find a match for you. We receive dogs into foster care frequently, so it is impossible to have every available or soon-to-be-available dog on the website.April 18, 2024, 3:25 pm

Story
Hello there! My name is Patches, and I am a delightful and resilient 12-year-young dog who has been through quite an adventure. Life took an unexpected turn when my previous owner fell ill and had to make the difficult decision to surrender me. However, I've never let adversity dampen my spirits, and I'm now eagerly searching for a loving forever home where I can share my boundless affection and bring joy to the lives of my new family. I have an unyielding devotion to the people I care about. I'm a true people pleaser and will go above and beyond to make you feel loved and cherished. Whether it's snuggling on the couch, accompanying you on leisurely strolls, or simply being a constant source of comfort, I'll be your steadfast friend through thick and thin. I'm seeking a forever home without young children or other male/larger dogs.  I do OK with the petite ladies.  My ideal family will understand that age is just a number and believes in the incredible bond that can be formed with a seasoned dog like me. I would do best in a calm and nurturing environment where I can enjoy the company of my humans. While I don't require a large living space, a cozy spot to curl up and a secure yard for some gentle playtime would be wonderful. My ideal family would be low key, let me snuggle with them on the couch or in bed.  I am working on my inside housebreaking skills and I am trying really hard.   I'm ready to be your loving and obedient companion from day one. If you know that I am your forever pup, please fill out an adoption application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application. Story
Rex 'The Wonderdog' is such a sweet baby! He is silly and loves his toys. He loves his foster siblings and gets along with other dogs, as long as they are not overwhelming. He loves treats, especially turkey! He also loves cuddles and we all know there’s nothing better than a cuddly dachshund! We’ve also learned that Rex is very chatty! He loves to tell cars to stay off his street and he is so excited to meet new people he sings when he first meets them! But here is what makes Rex The Wonderdog that he is!      ****Rex’s back legs don’t work.**** Rex does not have control over his pee/poop but he also doesnt need to be expressed. Rex doesn’t let being different slow him down at all!  His foster home doesn't have carpet so he is able to scoot all over the house, plays with toys & the other pups in his foster home and when he’s in his wheels he runs around and has fun! (See video below) https://www.youtube.com/shorts/iJToB9sTCBk Rex loves to sleep cuddled in blankets with his humans or other pups in the house. He loves being outside, throwing around his toys, and chest scratches. Rex is ready to find his fur ever home. Is it YOUR home??? Story
Cricket is a 5 yr old chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund mix) girl. She is spayed and potty trained. She is also super snuggly, loving to lay in your lap with her head tucked under your chin, next to you on the sofa while looking deeply into your eyes, or under the blankets with you in your bed snuggled close to your body. Cricket absolutely loves playing with another dog. She likes to wrestle and chase toys when you throw them and chase her doggy friends around the house. She finds happiness in those things! Because of this,  Cricket's forever home will need to have another dog for her to play with. The other thing that Cricket will require is a home with a fenced yard. We do not require a fenced yard for our fosters unless it is absolutely necessary. Cricket lived in a home with a fence yard and she is not comfortable walking, and especially potting, while on a leash. We have worked with her to leash train her, but it causes her a great deal of anxiety, and we do not want that for Cricket. When she is an enclosed environment and off leash, she is happy and loves to run around and enjoys being outdoors.Cricket will find her forever home where she can have a doggy friend, be loved and spoiled, and have many toys to play with. Is it your home? If you know that I am your forever pup, please fill out an adoption application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application. Story
Hey there, I'm Bunker, and let me tell you, happiness is my middle name! I'm all about spreading joy and wagging my tail non-stop. Life's too short to be anything but happy, am I right? First things first, let's talk sleeping arrangements. While I can tolerate a crate, it's definitely not my favorite spot. I'm more of a bedroom kind of guy, and I'll happily snooze in my bed nearby all night long. Plus, having you close by makes my dreams even sweeter! I've been described as easygoing and happy-go-lucky, and I wear those titles with pride. Seriously, my backend is in constant wiggle mode—I just can't contain my excitement! Whether it's sitting with you on the couch, going for leisurely walks on my trusty leash, or snuggling up under a cozy blanket for an afternoon nap, count me in! Looking to add some extra sunshine to your family? Well, look no further because I'm your guy! You won't find a more laid-back and joyful companion than me. I'm ready to bring smiles, laughter, and unconditional love into your home. So, what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a bundle of happiness into your life?         If you know that I am your forever pup, please fill out an adoption application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application. Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Sanderson, FL Meet Bobo! He is an 7 year old Australian Shepherd/Red Heeler mix and weighs 70 lbs. He is microchipped and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t neutered or up to date on shots. He has an appointment on 3/7 to get up to date on shots. Bobo is good with female dogs! He hasn’t been tested around children. No cats or larger male dogs, due to his reactivity! The owner is surrendering him due to personal health issues and not being able to provide the attention that he needs. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Bobo, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Bobo. Owner’s Contact Information: Brenda Dowling at (904) 708-9831 or brendavdowling@gmail.com.
