If you know that I am your forever dog, please fill out an application and don't forget to put my NAME on your application!  https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application If you can not adopt me but would like to help DARE pay for my care while I am in their care you can donate online: https://daretorescue.org/donation or send check made payable to DARE to:  DARE  PO BOX 21161  TAMPA, FL 32210 You may also contact us at info@DAREtoRescue.orgWe do not have puppies regularly HOWEVER we do accept people for a puppy wait list. When a puppy (under 1 year) comes into rescue we will FIRST refer to the oldest name and date approved on our puppy list to see if they are still interested in a puppy. We work our way down from there, sometimes the first person waiting is ready other times we get to 3 or 5 names before we find someone. We can not stress this enough....get on the list. Sometimes people wait week or months for a puppy - that is just how rescue works. We never know what we are getting or when we are getting it. We encourage everyone to support rescue and to adopt not shop!  Even if you do not see a dog that matches what you're looking for, you may fill out a no obligation application and we will work to find a match for you. We receive dogs into foster care frequently, so it is impossible to have every available or soon-to-be-available dog on the website.September 17, 2023, 8:29 am

My name is Patches, and I am a delightful and resilient 12-year-young dog who has been through quite an adventure. Life took an unexpected turn when my previous owner fell ill and had to make the difficult decision to surrender me. However, I've never let adversity dampen my spirits, and I'm now eagerly searching for a loving forever home where I can share my boundless affection and bring joy to the lives of my new family. Physical Description: I am a small to medium-sized doxie with a gorgeous pie-bald coat that's soft to the touch. My expressive eyes radiate warmth and kindness, and my wagging tail is always ready to spread happiness.  I may not be a puppy anymore, but I've got plenty of energy and love to give! Personality: If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, I'm your dog! Despite the challenges I've faced, my resilient spirit shines through, and I have an unyielding devotion to the people I care about. I'm a true people pleaser and will go above and beyond to make you feel loved and cherished. Whether it's snuggling on the couch, accompanying you on leisurely strolls, or simply being a constant source of comfort, I'll be your steadfast friend through thick and thin. Ideal Home: I'm seeking a forever home without young children or other male/larger dogs.  I do OK with the petite ladies.  My ideal family will understand that age is just a number and believes in the incredible bond that can be formed with a seasoned dog like me. I would do best in a calm and nurturing environment where I can enjoy the company of my humans. While I don't require a large living space, a cozy spot to curl up and a secure yard for some gentle playtime would be wonderful. Compatibility: I'm an easygoing dog but I wasn't socialized well so new things can make me nervous.  My ideal family would be low key, let me snuggle with them on the couch or in bed.  I am working on my inside housebreaking skills and I am trying really hard.   I'm ready to be your loving and obedient companion from day one. Health:   While I am currently undergoing heartworm treatment, I should be ready to go soon!   I'm up to date on all my shots, and my medical records will be provided to ensure a smooth transition into your home. As with any dog, a balanced diet, exercise, and lots of love will keep me happy and thriving. Adoption Details: If you're interested in welcoming me into your family, please reach out to DARE. They will be more than happy to provide you with any additional information you may need and guide you through the adoption process. I can't wait to meet you and embark on a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories together! Remember, when you adopt me, you're not just getting a rescued dog; you're gaining a loyal and devoted companion who will be eternally grateful for the second chance at a forever home. Let's create a beautiful story of love and companionship together! Even if you do not see a dog that matches what you're looking for, you may fill out a no obligation application and we will work to find a match for you. Unfortunately, her mom was experiencing some serious health issues and her prognosis wasn't good. She wanted to be sure Ivy Lynn was taken care of and reach out to DARE. Ivy is a standard dachshund came to us at a whopping 58.2 pounds!!!! She has lost 8 pounds since joining her DARE foster family. She is on prescription weight loss food and moderate exercise. Her activity is increasing as the pounds are coming off.    She is loving and affectionate. She is crate trained and slept in her crate at night until she figured out her foster fur siblings were getting to sleeping the big bed....... Now she has a ramp to be part of the bed gang. She has an alpha personality, but gets along well with her 4lb yorkie & 45lb pitty fur siblings.  There are also 3 cats at her foster home that she has no issues with. Ivy Lynn dose suffer from a bit of separation anxiety, but settles quickly.   She loves her stuffed animals and entertained herself with them when humans are busy and not paying attention to her. She is housetrained and will let you know when she needs to go out. The back yard is full of adventure for her and she enjoys being out there.   Children are okay as long as they don't try to flip her over on her side or back. Even if you do not see a dog that matches what you're looking for, you may fill out a no obligation application and we will work to find a match for you. He CAN BE adopted while in treatment to the right home.  I'm a loving 12-year-old Chiweenie searching for my forever home. As a delightful mix between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund, I may be small in size, but I have an enormous heart filled with loyalty and affection. If you're looking for a devoted companion, I might just be the one for you! Home Sweet Home: I thrive in a calm and quiet environment, and I'm longing for a cozy home where I can relax and cuddle up with my favorite person. I'm an indoor dog who appreciates a soft bed to snooze on and a peaceful atmosphere to call my own. A secure backyard would be a bonus, as I enjoy exploring and basking in the warm sunshine. One-Person Dog: While I adore people, I must admit that I'm a one-person dog through and through. Once I form a deep bond with my chosen human, I will shower them with unwavering love, loyalty, and devotion. I long for a special connection with someone who understands my need for companionship and is willing to be my number one. Ideal Human: I am seeking a patient and understanding adult who can offer me the stability and consistency I crave. Someone who is familiar with my breed's traits would be wonderful. As I can be a little cautious around new faces, a quiet household without young children would be the best fit for me. If you're seeking a devoted canine friend and are ready to be my cherished person, we might just be a perfect match! ‍&#226&#153&#128&#239&#184&#143 Exercise and Routine: Despite my petite size, I still enjoy daily walks and light exercise to keep me in shape and happy. Regular exercise helps me maintain my overall well-being and keeps my tail wagging. I appreciate a routine as it provides a sense of security, so a potential adopter who can offer me a structured daily schedule would be ideal. Canine Compatibility: I prefer to be the only pet in the household, as I like to have all the love and attention for myself. While I might not get along well with other animals, I promise to make up for it with an abundance of love and affection towards my special person. My Promise to You: If you open your heart and home to me, I promise to be your most devoted companion. I'll greet you with a wagging tail and warm cuddles every day, providing a constant source of love and comfort. My loyalty knows no bounds, and I'll always be there to listen, support, and provide unwavering companionship through all of life's ups and downs. If you believe you are the perfect match for me, I would be thrilled to meet you! Together, we can create a bond that will last a lifetime. Please reach out to arrange a meeting and let's begin our incredible journey together. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Even if you do not see a dog that matches what you're looking for, you may fill out a no obligation application and we will work to find a match for you. He is up to date on all shots and is mostly housebroken if you pay attention. He gets along with dogs but views cats as lunch so no cats. He is trying to figure children out so only older ones please. Oscar has a heart murmur and is waiting for an echocardiogram to determine if he can have a dental and what medications he needs. Story
Available in Gainsville, FL Ms. Gabriella hasn’t had the easiest start in life but is looking forward to finding her fun, forever home with you. She is a 2 year old 33 pound Aussie mix. Gabby was surrendered to an Alabama shelter and was found to be heartworm positive and have a bad UTI. It’s been a rough road but she’s now been treated and recovering from both. Gabby is still on a low activity restriction and will need her new family to follow through with the rest of her heartworm monitoring and care. Gabby is shy at introduction but warms up quickly. She would need to be your one and only dog as she does resource guard food and chew toys. She doesn’t seem too interested in cats. While she has never shown food aggression towards humans, a family with older or no kids would be better suited to her style. Gabby enjoys her calm and quiet time. But being an Aussie, Gabby does enjoy her play time too. After her activity restriction, she would love a fenced in yard to run around in… bonus if there are squirrels to chase up into trees and stare at. After play time, she will gladly snuggle up on the couch. Gabby is fostered in Gainesville FL. If Gabby sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
