Story
Beca is a 24 months old, female, fully vetted, current on shots, spayed Schnauzer Mix who came to us from Puerto Rico. She is ready to provide tons of love. Becca requires an experienced adopter as she is initially very shy. She relates well with other dogs and enjoys running in the yard. She is an inside/outside dog once she feels confident with the humans around her.  Our adoption process involves 3 steps. First, we evaluate you on paper via the adoption application https://www.123formbuilder.com/form-5081187/  or the one that is available on this site. If you meet our requirements we schedule a home visit, we travel up to 1.5 hours from our location. On this occasion, we bring Beca with us to your home. The purpose of this visit is to meet face to face, for you to meet Beca, for us to evaluate your fenced in yard, and if there are other dogs in the home to evaluate the dog to dog interaction. There is no compromise on your part to adopt and neither is there a compromise on our part to adopt her out to you. If we determine that you are the best candidate for his adoption and you are interested in proceeding with the adoption we complete the adoption contract, collect the adoption fee, and provide you with her Veterinary records. We will not adopt out any of our dogs to a household where there is no fenced-in-yard (it does not have to be big, just fenced in) or where electric fences are in use.  ##789369##

Story
NON-negotiable requirements: a fenced-in yard and home visit. We no longer engage in out-of-state adoptions.  Hershey is a Chocolate Chihuahua mix, weighing 8 pounds. He is fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative. Hershey is initially shy but warms up quickly to humans. He will require a potty training refresher. Hershey relates very well with other dogs, loves to play, and once he knows his humans enjoy the company of such. Here is how our adoption process works:   Residents applying to adopt one of our rescues MUST have a fenced-in yard (no electric fences) and be willing to allow us to come with the dog to their residence to complete a home visit. We accept (2) applicantions per dog. Applications are evaluated in the order and stamp time and day they are received. We do not bump residents, nor change the requested dog if somebody has submitted an application for a dog and later wants to change to a different one, your initial application will be used but your will not be considered before a person that had applied for that animal first, you could then become either number 2 or any other number in our list. Residents from Panama City, Panama City Beach, are informed that we will only travel to complete the home visit on Monday’s, and this is assuming we have two applications for this area, otherwise we will complete a virtual home visit WE no longer engage in out of state adoptions.   Interested resident needs to complete and submit this form: https://form.123formbuilder.com/5235602//   Once we receive your application, we evaluate it. If the organization's requirements are met, i.e., fenced-in-yard and willingness to allow the home visit, we then contact you to schedule the home visit. There is no compromise on your part to adopt the dog or on ours to allow you to adopt the dog. This visit could be either in person or virtual, depending on the distance between your home and our location. We travel up to 1 hour from our location to the residents' address. Our primary interest is to meet you, evaluate your yard, and see how the dog responds to you, your family, and any other animal in the household. These visits often occur either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between  10 to 11 am or 3 to 4 pm during the winter season.  If everything goes as expected and the dog appears to be a good match for you and your family, and you feel this to be the case, and we have no objections, we proceed with the adoption. We will provide you with all the pet's veterinary records and any other information on the pet. Our adoption fee ranges from $ 225.00 to $325.00. Adoption Donations (fees)  are determined by the cost of vetting and transporting the dog via airline/ground to our facility. All of our dogs are vetted, current on shots, spayed/neutered, and microchipped!   When visiting your household, we will comply with CDC recommendations. I will wear a face mask and gloves, and we will meet in your backyard. It is as much a precaution to protect you as well as me as I am Immunocompromised. I hope you understand!   ##1223080##

Arturo is a young guy who only wants to engage in activities and give love. He weighs 39 pounds and relates very well with other dogs and loves people. Arturo will require some re-training on leash walking, and indoor living.    If interested in offering Arturo your heart and your home please complete/submit this form: https://form.123formbuilder.com/5235602//.  Upon receipt of your application we will contact you either via email or telephone call to schedule a "home visit", this is, Arturo and I will come to your home to take a look at how she responds to you and your family, take a peek at your fenced-in yard and if there are other dogs or animals see how Arturo responds to them and how they interact. In the event that everything goes well and there are no problems with the backyard we then proceed with the adoption. If there are obstacles that can be resolved within a reasonable time, we allow the resident to do so. If the resident wants to proceed with the adoption, a $100 dollar non-refundable deposit is requested. It is important for any potential adopter to understand that we evaluate two candidates at a time and reserve the right to choose which family in our opinion is the best fit. We are a private shelter, they live with us and we know their behaviors, needs, and wants. They are not kenneled and they have ample space to run and play.  Be aware we no longer accept checks as form of making your donation for this adoption. Story
Pinki is about two years old, she is really sweet and energetic. She is fully vetted, and microchipped. She is heartworm and intestinal parasites negative. Pinki enjoys the company of humans and other animals.  It is our mission to be the voice for the voiceless. Each dog, cat, or horse that we adopt out has been promised a second chance for happiness and security. We take this promise very seriously. Each potential adopter is asked to complete a PRE-ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE. Following receipt of this document we proceed to schedule what we call a “meet & greet”.   Residents of Panama City, Panama City Beach or any adjacent areas, please know that we will only travel to complete a home visit if we have (2) potential adopters in your area. Unfortunately, you are in CST, and we are traveling from EST, which means that it becomes a day trip to complete a home visit, for efficiency purposes as well as to decrease our traveling expenses we have had to establish this rule. We are sorry! We travel up to 1 hours from our location to bring the pet to your home which allows you to see him/her in a secure environment without external distractions. It also allows us to observe the environment where the dog/cat will live and make sure that it provides all the required security to prevent as much as possible any accident. Given the extraordinary circumstances our country is experiencing we have now also instituted what we call "virtual home visits".  Using technology for "good", we visit your household using a free app called Google Duo. You can install it for free on your smartphone and will allow us to have a "face-to-face" conversation as well as it will allow us to take a peek at your yard. This allows you to see the dog you are interested in, and us to evaluate your fenced-in-yard. After the meet and greet (in your home, adhering to CDC guidelines, I will wear a mask and we will meet in your yard) and the interaction between you and our dog appears to be a good fit, and if you are still interested in our companion dog or cat, and If this is the pet for you we will proceed to complete the formal ADOPTION CONTRACT, residents will proceed to complete the adoption donation at this time,. WE no longer engage in out of state adoptions! We ask from all of our potential adopters to read our adoption contract beforehand and welcome as many questions as you may have after reading it. WE complete home visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4 pm, Wednesdays, from 10-11 am, or 3 to 4 pm. Please let us know which one is more convenient for you.  ##1548063##

Story
Maddie came to us as a rescue from an abuse/neglect/abandonment situation. She is between 5-6 years old, is fully vetted, is current on shots, spayed, and is also microchipped. Maddie relates well with other dogs, knows how to use a doggie door, barks appropriately, and weighs only 24 pounds. Despite her past situation/environment, Maddie is a very sweet, engaging small dog. Maddie has not been tested with children, or cats. Maddie exhibits characteristics of a reactive dog and will require an experience adopter. Despite this, she is engaging and loving once she trust the adults around her.  She deserves to know love and receive all the attention any dog craves. If you are willing and able to offer this to her please consider applying for her adoption.  Our adoption process is somewhat different from other organizations as we don’t engage in same-day adoptions. The reason why we don’t is to prevent returns, or worse, abandonment. It is our mission to be the voice for the voiceless. Each dog, cat, or horse that we adopt out has been promised a second chance for happiness and security. We take this promise very seriously. Each potential adopter is asked to complete a PRE-ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at 850-270-8793, this is my direct line and if I happen to be busy your call on average will be returned within 2 hours.
