Story
I recently purchased a home and the previous owners left their sweet dog behind. The family had children, but I am think the kids were older. I have been calling him Buddy. He is a beautiful German Shepherd and weighs about 70 pounds. He is so sweet and lets anyone come up to the house. He is always excited when I come home. He is quite interested in affection. Just meeting him once people will fall in love. He is very smart and is so fast.

Story
Bella is house and leash trained. She knows a few basic commands and likes small dogs and cats. She enjoys car rides, walks, rolling in the dirt, and snacks. She will need a family that will give her some additional training, lots of attention, and must have a solid, height appropriate fence if there is a yard. She is heartworm positive and has been receiving treatment. She will be retested for heartworms again in April. Bella is in foster, not located at the shelter. Please submit an application at bastropshelter.com for consideration if interested.

Story
FOSTER DOG Rosie is a spunky shepherd mix with a heartwarming smile. Despite being around 6 years old, Rosie is full of energy and enthusiasm. She is a smart and vivacious girl who loves squeaky toys and going on adventures. She's an intelligent and obedient companion who knows commands like sit, down, and can eagerly go up for a toy or treat. Rosie's past might be a mystery, but her future is full of potential. She's currently waiting for her forever home! Rosie is great on a leash and enjoys exploring her surroundings. She seems to be house-trained and is exceptionally sweet-natured. She even responds well to commands, making her a well-behaved and loving addition to any family. The shelter is not an ideal place for an older girl like Rosie, who deserves a warm and loving home. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Rosie could be the perfect match for you. Rosie is in foster care, not located at the shelter. Please submit an application at bastropshelter.com for consideration.

Story
"Howdy, my name is RANGER! I'm a friendly 4 yr old Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix who arrived at the animal shelter alongside a few other dogs almost 5 months ago. Then I was selected to attend a 3 month dog training program where I thrived learning basic commands, put on a few pounds and loved my name.... 'good boy'. I graduated and am now back at the shelter and boy oh boy am I ready for love. I have a playful personality and love going on walks and outdoor adventures. I've come far from my days as a stray, now a dog eager to continue training and learning..... anxiously awaiting the day when a loving family picks ME to love. I have paws full of love to share and will be your best friend. After months of waiting, I am soooooo ready to embark on new adventures and settle down with my BFF, so whatcha waiting for!! Please come meet me!" ~ Ranger RANGER is a wonderful adult dog, a great medium size, dazzling brown eyes, sweet natured boy and so deserving of a home! He is available at Bastrop County Animal Shelter.
