You can visit Purrball at our cat adoption center - The PURRfect Match, in Andover (14033 Round Lake Blvd NW). Visiting hours are: Tues/Thur 3-7pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm Hi there, I’m Purrball — a soft, grey-and-white sweetheart with a heart as tender as my name suggests. I’m about two years old, and while I’ve already been through a lot in my short life, I’m finally learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Not long ago, I arrived at a shelter as a stray — and surprise! I had just given birth to four tiny kittens. It was such a scary, noisy place for a new mom like me. Sadly, I lost three of my little ones before I could be rescued. It was heartbreaking, and the stress was just too much. My rescuers gently stepped in to help care for my one surviving baby, who’s thankfully thriving today. Now, I’m settling into life at The PURRfect Match, surrounded by kind humans and other cats who are also waiting for their forever homes. I adore attention and will happily soak up your pets and scratches, but I also appreciate having a quiet space of my own. After exploring and mingling with the other kitties, I often retreat to my cozy condo to enjoy a little peace and quiet. I’ve been through so much, but I still believe the best is yet to come — maybe that’s with you. Come meet me soon… I’m ready for the gentle, loving home I’ve always deserved. If you’re looking for a cat who brings beauty, charm, and just the right touch of goofiness to your home… I think we might be a purrfect match. I’m a 2-year-old domestic medium hair girl with soft, pretty fur and an even softer heart. Most days, I’m the picture of sophistication — graceful, gentle, and quietly observing the world like a little feline queen. But don’t be fooled… every so often, the goofball in me pops out and I’ll surprise you with a playful pounce or a silly little pose that always earns a smile. My personality ranges from coy and demure to warm and social, depending on the moment. Story
Reintroducing SIMBA! This stunning nine year old boy is 99% lover and 1% cranky neighbor who doesn’t want any fellow cats playing in his “yard.” Simba came to us over a year ago after being rescued from euthanasia. He was overweight, diabetic, matted, had skin and nail infections, diabetic neuropathy, and was in desperate need of a dental. After shaving off some pounds, treating his infections, a dental visit, and some loving attention, Simba has been restored to his former glorious self and is now ready for a long-term foster home as his current foster is relocating to another state.   Simba loves being brushed head to toe, chin rubs, and attention of any kind. He responds by drooling in joy and with a roaring purr. Belly rubs? No problem here – he’ll happily present his belly (and everything else) for an extended tummy tickle or a four paw nail trim. Talk about easy – if we didn’t know any better…we’d think he had professional groomer experience. He is adorably wobbly (uncertain of cause but could be residual diabetic neuropathy) so we have added a supplement to his food to try and boost his strength. To date, his weakened back end has gotten no better or worse and does not impede his “zoomies” after a good litter box visit! Another fun fact about wobbly cats? It means Simba is the polar opposite of a counter jumper! As a matter of fact, if he needs to get on anything higher than a couch...pet stairs do the trick. He will want a set by your bed as his favorite place to sleep is with you. Simba has been in diabetic remission for over a year and has not been on any insulin. We hope to keep him that way by controlling his diet and occasional glucose monitoring.   He comes with a lifetime commitment of litter, food, meds, and all the vet care needed for the rest of life. What he needs is a soft, loving place to fall, and a pet parent who will be patient getting him settled into new surroundings. His ideal home would be a quieter one. Maybe with someone who works from home (or no longer works) who has no other pets. He’s been waiting a long time for the right home and we are committed to providing everything a new foster needs. Don’t worry though — we were clearly loved and well cared for, and now we’re just looking for a new start with a family who’ll love us just as much. I’m about a year old, with soft black-and-white fur, a magnificent bushy tail, and (if I may say so) a pretty charming personality. I’m still getting used to all the new sights and sounds at The PURRfect Match, but once I’m out and about, I’m pure entertainment. I love to explore, climb to the highest perch, and absolutely go wild for catnip toys. Seriously — you’ve got to see it to believe it! Everyone says I’m full of personality, and I think they’re right. I can’t wait to meet my new person — someone who appreciates a playful, curious, and oh-so-handsome boy like me. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.  The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota.
