Story
Hi, I’m Keegan — a 4-month-old black and white girl with soft, medium-length fur and a gentle heart. I can be a little shy at first, but with a patient family willing to earn my trust (and offer plenty of Churu treats), I’ll soon be snuggling in your arms and purring contentedly. I feel safest when I can start off in a small, quiet space — like a bathroom — where I can take my time getting used to my new surroundings. Once I settle in, I truly enjoy being petted and loved on. My fur is soft and beautiful, and I’d love someone who can help me keep it that way with regular brushing. If you’re kind, patient, and ready to help me blossom into the confident, loving kitty I’m meant to be, I’d be so grateful for the chance to meet you. Hot Days, Cool Cats, Sizzling Summer Savings!  Thanks to a grant from PetSmart Charities, this kitty’s adoption fee is reduced to $25 for a limited time—making it the purr-fect time to bring home a new best friend!  I am available for adoption but is still being cared for in a foster home.  For more information about me or to schedule a meeting, please email cats@frastx.org.  June 29, 2025, 2:36 pm

Story
I was brought to the shelter nursing 6 newborn kittens. Luckily I made it to a foster home where I was able to raise the kittens, and I was a great Mom. I'm glad that was my last litter, and I'm ready for a home where I can be pampered.  I am available for adoption at PetSmart Wylie located at 3340 FM 544 #800, Wylie, TX 75098. For more information about me, please email cats@frastx.org.July 7, 2025, 9:26 am

Please keep an eye on your spam folder. Emailed responses often end up in spam folders!  Tater is a little ball of love, curiosity, and courage! This sweet, adventurous kitten isn’t afraid to lead the way into new territory, making her the perfect combination of brave and playful. She absolutely loves chasing wand toys and has a particular talent for turning any playtime into a full-on performance—her moves are TikTok-worthy! Tater's soft side shines through in his deep love for her brother, and we know she’d absolutely thrive in a home with animal companions. Whether it’s other cats, a gentle dog, or even her brother, Tater just loves having friends to play and snuggle with. She’s also a little social butterfly who enjoys being around her humans and will happily curl up for a nap when the action winds down. With her mix of bravery, sweetness, and a touch of showmanship, Tater is a kitten who will bring endless joy, laughter, and cuddles to his forever home. If you’re looking for a special little friend who’s full of personality and heart, Tater is waiting to meet you! Tater is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, she is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2397923##
