Story
Luna is an 11 year old longhair brown tabby. She originally came from a home with multiple animals. That fact alone, was traumatizing and she was re-homed to a foster family. I'm not sure how long Luna was with her foster family until she was re-homed to a women named Rachel. I found and re-homed Luna from Rachel on 11-05-2021. As any cat, Luna will need space and time to adjust. To help ease her anxiety and build trust, I sing and talk to her as often as my scheduled allowed. Over time, Luna's greatness shines once she trusts and learns who her "main human" is but she will still continue to hide from others until a creative way of socializing is I love her but I cannot keep her any longer. My allergies and health have worsened and it's been difficult to let her go. Luna has been my emotional support animal and my teacher.

Story
NAME: Sunset Key LOCATION: She is currently living in a foster home. A meeting can be scheduled with an approved application. DOB: 5/21/2023 GENDER: Female BREED/HAIR LENGTH: Domestic Medium Hair LITTER BOX TRAINING: Good!     OTHER CATS: She may do well with another cat in the home. DOGS: She may do well in a home with a cat-respectful dog. *Always take caution when introducing cats into a home with a dog. Motley Zoo is happy to provide our adopters with guidance and tips for safe introductions.   CHILDREN: She would likely do well with older children, aged 12 and older.     ADOPTION DONATION: $150 HEALTH: Sunset Key has a history of seizures, which are currently being managed with medication. She came to us with limited vision. She is spayed, micro-chipped, flea treated, de-wormed, and current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. HISTORY: She came to us from a rescue in eastern Washington. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do. NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Sunset Key is playful and snuggly. This sweet girl came us in rough shape, but has been thriving with appropriate medical care and TLC in her foster home. She does have some blindness, but has enough sight and depth perception that she has no trouble chasing and retrieving toys!   ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo does not have a traditional shelter location, but instead, utilizes private foster homes which care for the animals individually, in a home environment, until a "furever" home is found. Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment" Dog Daycare & Training Studio in Redmond, WA which is a day-use facility and does not hold kennels of adoptable animals. The dogs there are owned animals who come to the facility while their families are at work and school so they can play and socialize in a safe environment. We dub this service our "Year-round" fundraising program which helps us support our rescue animals and the $15,000/ month vet bills we incur. This Studio location does have an Adoptable Cat Lounge, where cats may live until adoption, which is the exception to any aforementioned rules. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application so we can get you started on the journey to finding a new, furry friend! Once you have been approved to adopt, then we can set up a meeting with the animal you have been matched with. For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org. ++ Needs a cat-savvy adopter ++ ** To avoid Single Kitten Syndrome, she must be adopted into a home that has a social cat/kitten to be his playmate and companion ** NAME: Orcas Island LITTER: She is part of our Washington islands group LOCATION: She is currently living in a foster home. A meeting can be scheduled with an approved application. DOB: 6/26/2023 GENDER: Female BREED/HAIR LENGTH: Domestic Medium Hair     LITTER BOX TRAINING: Good!     OTHER CATS: She will need to adopted into a home that has a social cat/kitten. DOGS: She needs a home without dogs. CHILDREN: She would do best in a home without children. ADOPTION DONATION: $150 (or $275 for her and Shaw Island) HEALTH: She is healthy! She will be spayed, micro-chipped, flea treated, de-wormed, and current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. HISTORY: Orcas was rescued from a feral colony of cats. Because of this, she will require continued socialization from a patient and cat-savvy adopter. Se has already made good progress during her time in foster care. NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME:  Orcas  is very pretty girl. She was rescued from a feral colony and her foster family has been working on his socialization. Though she has made progress, she will need an adopter who is willing to continue to work with her so she can blossom. She will also do best with a social cat/kitten in the home or would love to be adopted with her brother, Shaw Island. She doesn't currently seek out affection or like to be held, but she will accept pets if you approach her slowly and calmly. She is quite the purr machine when she gets pets and will also do elevator butt when she gets pet. Orcas cannot resist playing with her toys, especially stuffed mice - so this is an excellent way to bond with her. Quick movements or being cornered are scary for her and she will hiss or swat. With patience and care, Orcas will continue to grow in her comfort with humans and make a great companion.     ABOUT MOTLEY ZOO: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find him a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Ocean Shores is a stunning guy with long black hair and golden eyes. He loves the company of the other cats in his foster home, so he'd like to be adopted into a home where he will have a kitty companion. He can take some time to settle into new places but once settled, he loves being pet. He is not a fan of being picked up. Ocean Shores loves treats (especially Churu and dehydrated chicken) and he will be your BFF if you have those on hand!   About Motley Zoo: Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue! We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo is a FOSTER BASED organization, which means our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. We do not have animals available for casual viewing or same day adoption. Due to the volunteer-run structure and decentralized/virtual nature of a foster based group, an approved application is required to make an adoption appointment for any of our animals. If you are interested in one of our Adoptable Roadies, please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application. We will work toward getting you approved as an adopter so that we can set a time for you to meet your new best friend! Motley Zoo also runs Rock Star Treatment Services in Redmond, WA where proceeds from this service, help support our rescue's $15,000/ mo vet budget- however, this is NOT a shelter. For more information about daycare or training, check out www.rockstartreatment.org. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for more information! Thanks for considering adoption- we look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew   December 6, 2023, 4:13 pm

Story
Hi -  My name is Otter! I'm a beatiful white and tabby medium haired mama cat! I raised my babies and was a really good mom! All of my babies have been adopted and I'm so happy for them, but now it's my turn! I am looking for a quiet home where I can have ALL the attention. Boy do I love attention! I will talk to you, help you make biscuits, and purr for you. I'm really not a fan of dogs, and while I will tolerate other cats, I am happiest when I can dominate your attention! I would love nothing more than to lay in your lap and be the object of your affection. I am WAY better than a kitten - I have manners and don't make a mess! Oh - and have you seen me? I am always photo ready! Adopting me will give you all the bragging rights about who has the most beautiful cat. Come adopt me now - I'm waiting for you!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 7, 2023, 3:27 pm
