Stede is a former community cat who showed up at my house in May 2022 and I've been working on socializing him ever since. He's very sweet, a little dumb, and has a silly little head tilt that I suspect is due to poor vision. He had surgery to fix his lower eyelids that were curling inwards and irritating his eyes when he was neutered in 2022. The vet estimated that he's at least 8 years old and he recently had most of his teeth extracted due to dental disease. Now that he's all healed up, he's ready to find his forever home! Because of his history, he needs an experienced adopter who will be patient while he learns to be an indoor cat. He'd do best in a home where he's the only cat or where the resident cats aren't afraid to assert their boundaries. He's still getting used to indoor noises and will probably take some time to warm up to you, but with time, patience, and the liberal application of treats, I have faith that he'll be the lapcat of your dreams in no time!

He likes looking out any window (bonus points if it's open), looking at himself in the mirror, wand toys, exploring, and trying to drink water out of human cups. He dislikes being touched on the belly, and not being allowed in places where he knows there's things to explore. He is a big "flopper", and let us pet him almost immediately after he arrived home." WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Jackson is a gentle cat who appreciates the simpler things in life. He wants a high, flat surface to sleep on, yummy dry cat food to eat with temptations cat treats for some yumminess and a willing hand or brush to pet him 23/7 of the day. That is all he needs. He is so happy to be sitting next to you, air marching his sweet little paws and purring heavily. He is not a lap cat (yet??) but he will lay by your feet and make biscuits. His little fangs are sometime visible when he looks lovingly at you. Jackson also enjoys having his belly rubbed when he rolls over for even more pets. He had been fending for himself on the streets and that made him a street tough little boy who trusted no one. He quickly found himself in eyesight of a staff member who made it her mission to earn his trust. Now he can be held and purrs so loud, he loves attention and Churu treats!
