Angel is a female, gray kitten who was rescued behind a church. She, her mama (Serenity the Siamese cat), and her siblings were in a dangerous spot with lots of car traffic. Angel and her siblings were a bit stubborn when it came time for rescue, making our volunteers work for two weeks to catch the entire litter. Now that she's adjusted to indoor life, she quite enjoys it! Angel would do well in a home with another cat, whether it's one of her siblings or your resident cat!

Sk8r Girl was raising her kittens in the backyard of a community member who loves skateboarding, and her kittens were finding refuge in a torn down half-pipe. Her instincts to protect her kittens were fierce; she made sure they were eating well—even if that meant she went without. Sk8r is a kitten herself, estimated to be only 7 months old. She’s playful and curious, enjoying wand toys and pretending to hunt. Despite a tough start to life, she’s a softie who likes to cuddle! She’s hoping to spend her first holiday season in her forever home.

Lavender Latte is a handsome, loving male kitten who would like a permanent spot in your lap. He's named for his calming presence. When a volunteer spotted him, he was lethargic and had one eye closed. This poor guy was covered in fleas, with a belly full of worms. His upper respiratory infection was so bad he was sneezing blood. He's had a long journey for healing his eye, but the vet believes it can be saved. Lavender is a progressive FeLV+ kitten, but he doesn't let that keep him down. Since rescue, he has perked up tremendously and loves to reach his paw out for human affection. He plays very well (and cuddles adorably) with his bestie Persimmon Pie.

Sissy was rescued as an abandoned cat at an apartment complex in Langley Park, Maryland. She is a sweet girl who will blossom upon receiving attention. Sissy is a young active cat who loves her cat toys. Her favorites are the laser pointer and fishing pole. She is fine as a single cat or can be adopted with her foster buddy Oreo. Sissy's estimated birthdate is May 2021. Uno is a playful, curious, and happy-go-lucky girl that is sort of clumsy and socially awkward with her cat friends. She likes playing with other cats and toys and seems like the “class clown” with her antics. She likes people and will come around for pets but all she wants to do is to play. Uno thinks everything is a toy. She likes cuddling with people, playing with teaser toys and sleeping in big cats beds on the floor. Uno is from Kuwait, where she was found crying under a car in a parking garage at barely 4 weeks old. A video of Uno's history is attached to her profile. She uses the litterbox like a champ, keeps herself groomed well and eats both wet and dry food. Uno has been microchipped, spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and given rabies and distemper vaccines.

Luna Moon is part of a bonded pair with her sister Autumn. They must be adopted together. Luna Moon, like her foster sister Autumn, likes to be where the action is in the house. She often just rolls over to attract attention (it works!), loves to sit on laps or nap on blankets, and politely asks for playtime. Luna has been trained to join the foster family at dinner sitting on a bar stool! Back story-she kept trying to get on the dinner table at dinner, but then her foster family was persistent in giving her another appropriate option since she just wanted to be with the family. Luna loves to play with her foster sister Autumn, playing with laser toys (daily, please!), wand toys, the ball tracker, shadows on the wall, and toy mice (you could say she's easily entertained!). She gets along with other cats, and good with older kids (she seems likely to be OK with dogs, but not known for sure). Luna just wants to be everyone's friend! Sandy is an incredibly sweet and gentle cat with a calm, easy-going nature. While he may be a little shy at first, once he feels comfortable, he’s affectionate and loves being around people. Sandy is friendly and loves attention, making him the perfect companion for both families and individuals. He has a playful side, especially enjoying time with string toys—he can happily entertain himself for hours with a fishing pole toy. Even when children pet him, he remains calm and gentle, making him a wonderful choice for households with little ones. Sandy's estimated birthdate is September 2023. He is neutered and current on his vaccines and tested negative for FiV/FeLV. He is micro chipped. Sandy is on prescription food to prevent urinary blockage.

Aren't I a pretty lady? It's not just me that thinks so, I get told all the time. It gives me a lot of confidence when I deal with strangers. Please ask first before petting me. I like a little warning before my space is invaded. Sometimes I am just not in the mood, but a lot of the time I enjoy a good head scratch. I am approximately 3 years old. When I was found outside I was pregnant and almost ready to give birth. A nice lady took me inside so that my babies weren't born in a gutter. I was a great mom, but the hormones and constantly being touched, bitten, and grabbed at by the kittens made me crazy! I raised four healthy kittens but thank goodness that will never happen again! I am spayed now and up to date on my vaccines. I also tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia (if you are interested). I learned one thing for certain-- I am not mother-material. All those mewing, crying little rug rats-not for me! Give me a warm afternoon, a big window, peace and quiet, and a good meal (I love to eat fancy feast) and I am happy as a clam. I have been a little lonely lately. I have a room all to myself-don't like other cats-- but lately I've been bored. My foster mom works a lot of hours and can't spend much quality time with me. That is why I am writing this note. I am looking for a new home with one or two adult humans. I have no patience for kids-- human or feline. The humans should have lives of their own and not expect me to be their sole source of entertainment, but they should have time during the day to sit with me. If you mind your manners I would be happy to spend the afternoon with you. Sometimes my foster mom and I take a nap together. I like to talk, especially when it's time to be fed-- I will give you a beautiful melody of chirping. I have good litter box manners (of course, I am a lady after all). I only eat wet food-- Fancy feast classic. Dry food makes me gain weight. Now that I have lost the pregnancy weight, I don't want to ever go through the ordeal of dieting again! Geisha was left behind by her prior owners when they moved out of an apartment complex in Oxon Hill MD. She struggled to survive on her own until neighbors got help to rescue her. Geisha is a very sweet and affectionate kitty that loves human attention and can be very vocal about it. She purrs happily when petted and likes to snuggled right by her Person's side to chill and watch TV. But she will also chase a wand toy like nobody's business! Geisha does not like to compete with other cats for her Person's attention, so she needs to be the only kitty in the home. She is not good with small children but should be OK with older children. Gracie is not an adventurous outdoor cat; she strongly prefers being indoors and is very well‑suited to a relaxed, low‑stress household. Adopted from a shelter in 2018, Gracie has been a deeply loving and comforting companion for many years, offering emotional warmth and steady companionship. She would be an ideal match for someone looking for a calm, affectionate friend who appreciates soft voices, gentle attention, and peaceful routines The only reason she needs a new home is that an elderly family member with severe cat allergies has recently moved in, and despite medications and air purifiers, the symptoms have not improved.

Just as the moon was full in the sky, there was a clanging sound: the trap had been triggered. Upon inspection, the trapper was shocked; instead of the intended stray dog, she had caught a pretty little kitty with chicken McNuggets. For obvious reasons, the gray-and-white bicolor cutie was named Moonie McNugget and was sent for spay and vaccinations. Although she was a bit shy, Moonie seemed to be friendly. With ample time for decompression, Moonie McNugget has come out of her shell, seeking out pets and hanging out with the resident cats in her foster home.
