Story
Sybil and Sebastian are a unique sibling pair of cats looking for a special kind of forever home. They would like to stay together forever, but it may not be as long as we would like because Sybil has a heart condition (currently managed with daily medication that she easily takes with her food) that will eventually lead to a shorter life span. Additionally, Sebastian LOVES all food, and will need to be in a place where he gets controlled portions to help him lose those pesky pounds that could lead him to premature diabetes. Sybil is gentle, quiet and very sweet. Sebastian is the snuggly comedian. These beauties may need a little time to adjust to a new environment. Cat friendly dogs are fine. We are hoping there is a special forever home out there who will already have an existing kitty for both Sybil & Sebastian to bond with, a buddy that will be there for Sebastian when Sybil is no longer with us, a place where 'free feeding' is not an option for Sebastian, a place where they are showered with love. Sybil and Sebastian are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this pair has been waived. For more information, please email khelm@petconnectrescue.org Cats adopted through PetConnect Rescue must be indoor only, and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue). **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Yang is a 5 year old all white male who was adopted out from PetConnect a few years ago but recently returned when his family could no longer care for him. He lived with a female cat named Yin and they got along very well. He also does very well with the dog and cat in his foster home. Yang is an easy, low key guy who settled into his foster home easily and has been a pleasure to host. We are not sure how he would be with young children, but given a slow and respectful introduction we think he would do fine. Yang is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and fully litterbox trained. He requires an over the counter sensitive stomach food and also has one eye that was previously damaged so he cannot see very well out of it. It doesn't bother him though. Yang will make his forever family very happy! Yang is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this cat is $175, which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. For more information, please email kbuckner@petconnectrescue.org Cats adopted through PetConnect Rescue must be indoor only, and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue). **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

PURR-FECT Lovable Pair! Ash, and his sister Ivy, are super social, outgoing and an adorable pair of young cats! At just over a year old there's still lots of kitten behavior to keep you laughing. Ash is the epitome of a lap cat who really loves to be on your lap getting pets. Happy to be on his cat tower surveying his domain or sharing a pillow and snuggle with his sister Ivy. This adorable boy is healthy, neutered, and current on his vaccinations - all he needs now is a forever home to call his own with his sister Ivy - could that be with you? Ash and Ivy are spayed /neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. These cats are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. The adoption fee for both is $300, which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. For more information, please email bkertess@petconnectrescue.org Cats adopted through PetConnect Rescue must be indoor only, and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue). ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our non-binding application (it does not commit you in any way, but allows us to help you to find a great match). Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** Cats adopted through PetConnect Rescue must be indoor only, and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue). **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Dottie and her sister Eloise are as friendly, playful and as curious as they can be! Born in early March 2024, these precious kittens are incredibly cuddly and affectionate with everyone they meet. Both Dottie and Eloise love being held and snuggled - they will purr their little hearts out with appreciation for your attention!  We would ideally like to see these adorable sisters adopted as a pair - they are truly an incredible duo! However, applicants looking for a single kitten will also be considered if they’re a great match and their homes already have resident kitties for them to play and bond with.  Dottie and Eloise have tested negative for FIV/FeLV. They are current on all age appropriate vaccines & preventative treatments. The kittens are microchipped and will be spayed in the coming week.   Our single kitten adoption fee is $200 (or $175 each when adopting a pair). Please complete an adoption application as the first step in our adoption process. You can access the Cat Adoption Application by visiting this kitten’s bio on our website: www.ahomeoftheirownrescue.org Important Note: Due to the fragile nature of small kittens, the Cat Adoption Team at ‘A Home of Their Own Rescue’ prioritizes pair adoption applications as well as those without children under 8 years old in the home.  If you have additional questions about Dottie, please contact Natalie by emailing: catadoptions@ahomeoftheirown.org  **We do our very best to respond to general inquiries as well as submitted applications as quickly as possible. However, as an all volunteer organization, it can take several days for you to receive a response. We genuinely appreciate your patience.** ##2033430##

Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
When my brother Rufus (black) and I were rescued as little kittens from a backyard in Silver Spring, things seemed to be looking up for us. But while we were searching for our forever home, we both got very sick and were not expected to survive. We developed something called feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), which has traditionally been nearly always fatal in cats. However, after undergoing a long but groundbreaking new treatment, we bounced back and grew into active young adults, and we are now considered “cured”. Life has basically returned to normal. We enjoy playing, exploring and getting petted. I've become a lap cat, while Rufus prefers to rub against human legs. Our search for a forever home has resumed, and we would prefer to be adopted together because we enjoy each other’s company.

Story
My brother Perry (tabby/white) and I were thought to be part of a feral cat colony in Kensington (Montgomery County), and we supposed to go through a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program. But we turned out to be too sweet to be returned outside. We were pretty shy at first but are coming out of our shells and like to be petted and held. We play with toys with a human assistant or on our own. Although we’re equally very cute, Decker definitely wins the toe contest – he has six extra! We’re looking for a patient adopter who will allow us to gradually warm up to a new home. Could you be the one?

Story
I was living in a feral cat colony in Langley Park when my caregiver noticed I was drooling a lot. I had already lost most of my teeth, but the few remaining ones were causing me a lot of discomfort. Thankfully, Rock Creek Cats got me the dental work I needed, and now I am feeling much better. It turns out I am not feral at all and am very friendly, so I won't be returning to the outdoors. I seek out attention and love to be petted. I am about eight years old and FIV+ (weak immune system), so I am looking for a special adopter.

Story
I showed up at a feral cat feeding site at an apartment complex in PG County. It turns out I’m not feral at all but was just hungry. I’m looking for an indoor home where I can chill out and have the back of my neck scratched. I am FIV+, which means I have a weak immune system, so I will need a special person to adopt me. I was recently neutered, and I'm up to date on shots.
