Story
PERSONALITY I can be a tease and a trickster. Sometimes I show you right away how much I like people, other times I make you work for it. But I’ll still headbutt your hand and purr up a storm, even if I was being a tease just a minute ago. Hobbies: Trying to con people for extra treats by pretending to be scared, roughhousing with my siblings, chasing after toys. Favorite Toy: I have a toy that I absolutely love that looks like a stuffed mouse with a long, feathered tail. I get so excited when I play with it that I start growling so it knows who is boss! Favorite Napping Spot: Pillows, a cat tree, and/or snuggled up with my kitty friends! HOW I CAME TO THE PGSPCA My siblings and I made friends with some nice people at a fire station and they brought us in to find furever homes! DREAM FAMILY I should be adopted with a sibling or into a home with other friendly kitties that like to play. My Profile Age: 4 months Good with kids: don't know, yet. Good with dogs: haven’t met dogs yet. Good with other cats: Love other cats! Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes Activity level: I like playing but I'm not crazy about it! Meet Me If you are interested in Gomez, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Gomez will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. Story
My name is Aries and I was rescued from a parking lot in Oxon Hill. I went through some scary things as a kitten that made me shy and cautious, but I'm a very affectionate kitty and I love being petted once I feel safe. I'm quite chatty. I've discovered that I love wet food and Temptations treats. My foster mom tells me I'm beautiful, all white with only a black spot on my back and a black tail. I will need a quiet home with no dogs, no children, or at least no children under 12, and a patient adopter who will give me time and love until I get comfortable in my new home.  I am being fostered with other cats and I would make a good companion for another calm and gentle kitty. I especially like to play chase with the kittens because they are smaller than me and I feel safe with them.  My Profile Age: 1 1/2 years Good with kids: Yes kids over 12 years old. Good with dogs: No Good with other cats: Yes if the cats are calm and gentle Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes Activity level: moderate. Meet Me If you are interested in Aries, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Aries will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. Story
I am a former street cat with handsome stripes and adorable white toe socks! I know what I want – a warm, safe place to nap and lots and lots of treats. I have a tiny squeaky meow, and won’t wake you up in the morning or cause a ruckus in the middle of the night. I am still learning about living indoors with people and sometimes get scared and need some time to myself. I have excellent litterbox habits but don’t always know how to communicate with people and might swat if I get scared or frustrated. That can scare kids. Tony has FIV, which is manageable and not contagious to humans or other species. Cats with FIV can live fully healthy lives if they are cared for properly. (It does not spread among spayed animals and is not the same as FeLV.) Likes: treats, scritches, and being brushed Dislikes: hands and wand toys are scary Hobbies: bird watching, napping Favorite Toy: treat puzzle games and toy mice and balls to pounce on Favorite Treats: Churus Favorite napping spot: heated cat mats and a cat sill in the window HOW I CAME TO PGSPCA I spent years living outside in a cat colony until a caretaker noticed I was having trouble eating and brought me inside. I was very nervous about people and indoor life at first and had a mouth full of broken and infected teeth. After getting my teeth pulled and realizing that it is dry and warm in the house, I am ready to retire to a life of indoor luxury. DREAM FAMILY I would like a quiet, gentle family with prior cat experience who will give me time to adjust to a new living situation. My Profile Age: senior, exact age unknown Good with kids: best in a home without children Good with dogs: haven’t met dogs yet. Good with other cats: possibly, but may need to be fed separately Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes Activity level: low Meet Me If you are interested in Tony, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Tony will be attending the next adoption show. Story
HOW I CAME TO PGSPCA I was a very young mom, and I didn’t know what to do. So I took my babies to a place that still had lots of plants and cozy spots but also lots of people around. The people at the garden center gave me food and water until another nice lady took me and my babies inside to help us get cared for and adopted into our furever homes. DREAM HOME I would do well as an only kitty or in a home with other kitty friends. My Profile Age: 1 year, 3 months (as of February 2024) Good with kids: good with kids over 10 years old. Good with dogs: haven’t met dogs yet. The people at the garden center made sure that we had plenty to eat and fresh water to drink until another nice lady took us all inside while we look for our furever homes! Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Stede is a former community cat who showed up at my house in May 2022 and I've been working on socializing him ever since. He's very sweet, a little dumb, and has a silly little head tilt that I suspect is due to poor vision. He had surgery to fix his lower eyelids that were curling inwards and irritating his eyes when he was neutered in 2022. The vet estimated that he's at least 8 years old and he recently had most of his teeth extracted due to dental disease. Now that he's all healed up, he's ready to find his forever home! Because of his history, he needs an experienced adopter who will be patient while he learns to be an indoor cat. He'd do best in a home where he's the only cat or where the resident cats aren't afraid to assert their boundaries. He's still getting used to indoor noises and will probably take some time to warm up to you, but with time, patience, and the liberal application of treats, I have faith that he'll be the lapcat of your dreams in no time!

Story
Hello, humans! My name is Keiko, and I'm here to share my story with you. You see, I'm not your typical cuddly, affectionate feline. Nope, I'm what some might call an independent spirit, packaged in the beautiful body of a tuxedo cat.    I've had a bit of a rough start in life, and it's left me a tad wary of people. Before I came to live with my foster parent, I had terrible dental disease, and I had to have all my teeth removed. I’m still a great eater, enjoying hard and soft food.  Being outdoors is off limits to me, as it’s not safe for me without my teeth to help protect me. Which doesn’t bother me at all, as I like being indoors.I love playing with my toys, but I don’t really enjoy playing with humans.  I like being in the same room with my foster, occasionally granting her permission to pet me, but I am not a lap kitty.  I do enjoy an occasional brushing on my belly, though. Deep down, I'm just a misunderstood kitty looking for a place to call home. I may not come running to greet you at the door with purrs and headbutts, but give me time, and you'll see there's a whole lot more to me than meets the eye. I’m searching for a patient, understanding cat lover who is willing to respect my independence, and love me anyway! I think I’ll thrive in a quiet, all adult home, where I’m the only non-human. If you think we might be right for each other, please contact PAW at cat-coordinator@paw-rescue.com ##1849327##

Story
Meow! I`m Polly, a sweet three-year old spayed female tabby. I have cute white-sock paws, a white nose, a white belly and gorgeous green-yellow eyes. After having four kittens, I`m ready to live my best life with you! I`m a little scared of new people at first but will purr quickly if you give me a little chin scratch head rub or pets on my back, don`t mind being picked up a bit, and am a total love bug. I get along well with other friendly cats, as I was in a foster home with four other adult cats I`m easy to please with food, great with my litter box, and ready to move to my furever home!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I`m a black and white female `tuxedo` kitten with green eyes, a white nose, white paws and a white belly. I am about six months old. I`m very energetic and love to run and play with my sister, another cat in our foster home and my human foster mom. I would be happiest being adopted with my sister (A540547) or into a home with another friendly cat. Some of my favorite toys are jingly balls, string and a cat tunnel. I like pets along my back but am not s big fan of being held yet. I might be a little shy and skittish at first but if you feed me a little wet food on a spoon a few times a day and or dangle some fun string and sneak in some pets at the same time, I`ll get comfortable with you soon. I`m a litter box super star who is ready to join your family!

Story
Beans is a cutie. I got her from a shelter and she was six months old. I did a FaceTime with her & her foster mom and happened to see her interacting with another cat. I thought that was a good sign and got them both. She is a timid cat and loves to eat snacks, but she has anxiety and would rather not be touched unless she gives you the sign that it’s okay. She has a sweet disposition, but she needs a lot scratching posts, cat trees, empty boxes, and the like to distract her from scratching up furniture. She might be better as the only pet in the household, but she is good company for Boba (my other cat) when they are home alone.

Story
Boba is such a great cat. She’s friendly, curious, confident, likes to be held and to play. She’s quiet (unless she misses you), and likes to be around. If I would have adopted her by herself, it probably would have worked out. I saw her & Beans together and got them both. I don’t know how long it takes for cats to become a bonded pair, but I’m worried they might miss each other (but secretly, I think Boba would prefer to have all the attention from her family instead of sharing it with Beans). She will be a year old April 26th. I’d like her to find a new home that has windows she can look out of because that is one of her favorite activities and tall cat trees for her to climb.
