Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Paola and I'm now at KSC after acclimating in a lovely foster home.  I was in an outdoor community of cats and a kind woman was making sure we had enough to eat.  Then it got pretty cold and she was worried about me in particular because I'm a small girl.  Since I spent most of my life fending for myself, I'm a bit cautious.  I did let my former caregiver pet me and my new foster mom would wrap me in a towel and cuddle me which was nice - it made me purr and I even 'made biscuits'.  I would sit next to my foster while she worked and I am making progress with humans - starting to learn that most are safe and kind.  Still, I'm a shy girl so I will need a forever home where my person(s) will go slowly with me.  I can't wait to have a place to call my own and a family to love me.  Oh, also, I think I would prefer a home without children or dogs that might scare me.  I do get along with other kitties, so a friendly pal might be nice.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. March 26, 2024, 8:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Gavin.  I was found wandering outside as an unneutered male, so while I am now neutered, I still am not too fond of other cats (they were competition in the outside world). I was adopted previously but the person gave me away and then that person dumped me at a big county shelte. Luckily King Street Cats came and got me! so now I am going to be very careful which person I choose. I would like to be an only kitty in my forever home.  I like people and I like getting attention. So if you think maybe a kitty of my unfortunate circumstances might be right for you I would love to meet you. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. March 26, 2024, 8:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Lucky Philip.  I had been feeding outside at a kind ladies house for several months but when she suddenly passed away I had no food source.  I ended up at a local shelter where luckily for me the folks at KSC decided to help me.  I'm a friendly, laid back guy who loves human attention.  After a trip to the vet and a substantial dental I'm ready now for a quiet home inside where I can be your only pet and the center of attention.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. March 26, 2024, 8:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, my name is Barney and I was temporarily living at a barn (hence my name!) but I couldn't stay there so the kind people at KSC took me in.  I'm a lovable, playful boy… I love getting petted and chasing wand toys. I’m fine being an only kitty or would be happy with a low key not alpha feline buddy! I definitel prefer no young noisy kids or dogs around me.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. March 26, 2024, 8:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Claudette.  I’m named after the kind lady who fed me and my babies when we lived outside.  We were all rescued and my my babies have been adopted.  Now it’s my turn to find a forever home.  When I first came to KSC, I was extremely  shy and very uncertain of people (not everyone was as kind as my namesake).   With the kindness of the caregivers here (and some tasty Churros treats), I've gotten a bit more sociable though I still don't like getting picked up.  I love hanging out with the other quiet girls here (Petunia, Beyonce, Mariah, Tina) and I like taking care of the younger ones.  I’d love a quiet home with one of my girlfriends where someone will give us time to thrive. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Minnie.  I was found outside 7 years ago and kept by the people who found me.  I have always been pretty shy but when my family brought a dog and two young cats into the home, it was just too much for me.  They brought me to KSC where I have been able to relax a bit.  The caregivers here tell me I’m a beautiful girl and they give me yummy food and gentle pets.  I would really like a quiet home with an understanding person who will give me time to adjust and blossom.  Please, no dogs or children; they are too rambunctious for me!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. March 26, 2024, 8:47 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My adoption fee is free thanks to a generous donor. Her foster family tells us:Her absolute favorite activity is sleeping in our lap as we watch TV on the couch. Katniss knows when I am heading to watch TV and will wait patiently until I have settled in and have a blanket on top of my outstretched legs. She will then jump up, do a bit of "kneading" and then settle in. This is a perfect time to pet her a little and scratch her ears. She also likes to sit in between us and our computers while we work, and generally keep an eye on what we're up to! Her second favorite activity is "stalking" birds and squirrels from her perch by the window and chattering at them willing them to come closer. Katniss also trills happily when she knows it is food time - loves her Friskies! If you are interested in adopting Katniss, please send an email to zubinkapur@yahoo.com to arrange an initial meet and greet with the pet's foster parent or a staff member. They will reply to you within 24-48 hours.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi my name is Lila (pronounced Lee-la)I'm a busy cat. First, I've got to see what's happening out the window. Next, I'll see if any closets or cupboards need inspecting. And then there are my naps. I can't be late for those. I can fit a little socializing into my schedule... shall we plan on breakfast and dinner?I'm looking for a cat-savvy family with older children and no other cats please! I love to play and zoom around the room after hours of bird watching. Treat puzzles are a mid-day must, and I like to end my busy day with a relaxing lap nap. Lila will do best in a home where her family can be mindful of her body language when it comes to petting, and practice consent to pet. She does better with short sessions followed by breaks and sometimes needs space to explore and do her own thing. These breaks can come in the form of tossing treats to redirect, or placing treats on a snufflemat/puzzle. She is still learning to communicate her needs and would do best with a patient a calm family. If you are interested in adopting Lila, please send an email to catfostersana@gmail.com to arrange an initial virtual meet & greet with the pet's foster parent or a staff member. They will reply to you within 24-48 hours.

Mini is shy at first but once she warms up she's super chatty and snuggly. She will let you know when she wants attention by giving head bumps, and will usually make herself comfortable next to you in bed or while watching TV. She loves back scratches, head tickles and the movie Aristocats. If you are interested in adopting Mini, please send an email to cateb.dc@gmail.com to arrange an initial virtual meet & greet with the pet's foster parent or a staff member. Story
I rescued this guy in Jan 2024 from a parking lot. He is very smart and independent. He is an indoor/ outdoor kitty. He likes being in at night to sleep and out during the day. He is very playful and loves to run about. He would be best suited to have a large yard to explore during the day. He did get out several times in the beginning but has always come back.

Story
I have had Bosley since 2017 and he was estimated to be around 7 week old at the time.I adopted him from a shelter in MD. I am looking for a new home for Bosley because I work a lot now and he is lonely. Over the span of me having him, there has always been someone in the house with him for a bulk of the day and the change has caused him to have anxiety. He has lived with dogs for a couple of years when my mom had custody of him and he got along fine with them. He mostly likes to just lay around and eat and he is very cuddly. He does have aggressive moments where he randomly bites due to overstimulation.
