** Courtesy Post ** This is cross-eyed Lovey. She is about 7 years old. Completely healthy and up-to-date on everything. She is, as her name implies, very loving. She is also very talkative. She will tolerate other cats, but does not like them. She just wants attention. Lovey was found in a rock quarry parking lot as a kitten along with her brother, Mr. Fluff (see separate listing). Both had had half of their tail chopped off.

Story
Introducing Cinder! This little princess marches to the beat of her own drum and prefers to keep to herself in her own little kingdom. While she may be a bit shy and fearful of new people and situations, Cinder's sweet personality really comes through when she's given the space and time to warm up on her own terms. First impressions are very important to royalty such as herself, so we recommend a slow and gentle introduction to new humans. Her favorite pastimes include batting around ribbon toys and pouncing on spring toys and being told how good at playing she is! With lots of patience and understanding, Cinder will bloom into a sweet and loving kitty who appreciates having her own space respected. If you're ready to give this independent beauty the royal treatment she deserves, come meet Cinder today! If you'd like to meet our available pets, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt

Story
Dottie likes peacock feathers hiding under tissue paper and snoozing on soft blankets in a quiet corner, or under a chair. She's extremely playful and gets the zooms on a daily basis. Dotty has not had many human friendships, so she prefers people that are calm and patient with her while she figures things out. She has learned that they can be very fun to play with and often come with food. She is very shy, but curious about her foster house and its resident cat, who wants nothing to do with her. Dotty is brave when it comes to meeting dogs, but would probably prefer a home without one. She will make a terrific companion for someone who is willing to give her time to adjust and become comfortable in a new space. Thank you for your interest in Dottie D! Story
Calico darling Kiki came to HART from Southern Virginia with her kittens Oscar and Misty. Kiki is barely out of kittenhood herself, and is a playful, curious, and beautiful young cat. She is on the timid side, so Kiki would probably be most comfortable in a quieter, adult-only home. She may need a slow introduction and a patient person, but she's very social and loves attention. She'll reach up and hug her foster mom's leg with her little front legs to get attention! She's also a real purr machine. Apply to meet Kiki! Thank you for your interest in Kiki! Newton is a loving energetic guy who wants to follow you around to see what you are doing. He's always at your feet making sure he knows where you are going and doesn't miss any food you might be about to put down. Newton has a loud purr which he turns on the moment you get near Newton is very sweet and enjoys being held for short periods of time, but then he needs to get back to playing with his buddies. Story
Matteo is a handsome part Bengal part Egyptian Mau young man. He has the dots on him like a Mau but the personality of a Bengal. He is overly active and playful. Expect when you bend down that he will jump up on your back or even leap from floor to shoulder. He has no problem snuggling up on a lap. Matteo needs to go to an experienced Bengal/Mau home because these breeds are very demanding and overly active. We would like to see him in a busy home; ideally having a screened in porch would be great. We want the purrfect home for him so it is a fit for him and his family. Fostered in Fairfax
