Story
Onyx is a 4-month-old spayed Dutch Shepherd/Akita mix with a striking black coat accented with hints of red and brown tones. Her fuzzy fur makes her extra cuddly, and she is a true cuddle bug who loves being close to her people. Onyx would enjoy having a dog friend at home to play with, making her a great addition to a family with other pets. She is playful and has a friendly disposition, making her an excellent family dog. Onyx would be comfortable in either an apartment or a house, adapting well to different living situations. Treats make Onyx very happy, and she is still learning the leash, so she currently goes on short walks. With patience and continued training, she will become a wonderful walking companion. If you're looking for a playful and affectionate pup who will bring joy to your home, Onyx is the perfect match!

Story
Hi I'm Cali, I also go by Cali girl. I was born in 2017. I love to leap through the backyard like a kangaroo chasing after my Kong. We go to the lake and play in the water and take long car rides. I'm a great snuggler so much so I have to be the only animal snuggling. I'm great with kids, love to take long walks and chew on my peanut butter bones. I need a forever home where I am the only one being spoiled. At the facility I enjoy my time in the yard and long walks. If you love my ears in pictures wait till you see them in person!!Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.

Story
Finnius Franklin, “Finn” needs a new home because he’s just not good for a homewith babies or young children. He can be a bit of a problem child but was neveranything serious for his adult humans nor his puppy ‘brother’. However, when ababy became part of future plans his humans took Finn in for some training.Everyone, including Finn agreed he wouldn’t do well in a home with young children.Finn needs leadership and good direction; he is an engaged, smart and athletic dogwho likes human interaction. He would be good with just about any type of training;very typical of the Dutch Shepherd breed.Finn lives with lots of other dogs and has been good playing with them. He hasgood house manners and is crate trained. He enjoys going in the car when he getsthe chance and is good on a leash. This handsome boy could excel with the right leadership and attention.

Story
Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather. His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed. We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
