Story
Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! ✔️ Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 ⚖️ Weight: 45 lbs  Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you! Fill out the adoption application today, and his foster will be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Jax is a 6 year old dutch shepherd mixed breed. We adopted Jax in 2022 at the age of almost 2 years old. He is leash, house, and crate trained.Jax is a great dog but very active. Jax enjoys going on runs, playing with/pulling firewood around the backyard, barking at and chasing squirrels out of his yard. He loves to please and likes to be near us. Retired previously, I now have returned to work full-time. Also in a few months, we will have our first grandchild. Therefore, these changes have and will continue to impact Jax because he is not getting the needed attention, activity, and exercise.Jax needs someone or a family with no or older children in the home. In addition, he is an alpha dog that functions well with consistent boundaries. He is protective and an overall good dog!

Story
Looking for you ride-or-die soulmate-the kind who sticks by your side through every season of life? Kennedy might just be your girl. She's a survivor with a heart of gold. In 2018, Kennedy was rescued from a shelter where she endured Hurricane Harvey in an outdoor cage, facing 140 mph winds. Whatever came before that storm, she's never let it define her. Kennedy is resilient, wise, and full of love. For the past six years, she's been more than a pet, she's been a steady companion, a hiking partner, a sunset-watching sidekick, and a quiet comfort during hard days. She's snuggled through tears, celebrated joyful moments, and made solo walks feel like shared adventures. Kennedy doesn't just live in your home--she lives in your heart. Kennedy's ideal home is peaceful and loving. She's not a fan of chaos or high-energy dogs, and she's grown less tolerant of small or bouncy pups. She'd thrive as your one-and-only or with other big dogs who respect her space and vibe. She is ready for her next chapter, a home where she can be someone's best friend, protector, and partner in quiet joy. If you're looking for a dog who truly sees you, Kennedy is waiting. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Kennedy is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.September 4, 2026, 12:47 am

Story
Noel is a wonderful dog who was found wandering on the streets a few years ago and is needing a better forever home fit. We have been taking care of her for years, but ideally, she would have a home where she is loved, able to receive all the pets and just be around people. She wants to be where the action is. Would love a spot to be able to sit outside as well, a patio would doShe is good with kids, has been around multiple cats with zero issues, and is good with other dogs - though she may take time warming up to them if they are in her environment (a new dog she isn't familiar with in her home. Great at doggy day care). We would include absolutely everything that she would need to be happy in her new home: Collar, leash, harness, favorite toys, large bed, favorite treats and food, etc. Noel is incredibly sweet who just wants all the love and is also very smart and quick to be trained. We are willing to wait to get her to the right home, but we do need to find her a true furever home
