Cosmo is such a love bug and loves to be snuggled and plays really well with people, however, he’s got a hyper fixation for removing collars and harnesses from my 7 year old smaller dog and is way too large and rough with her. I’m not sure that he is meant to be in a home with other dogs, or at least, not dogs smaller than he is because he’s not learning from the discipline and reprimanding over pulling off her collars or harnesses and it’s putting her at risk of unintentional injury/death. He’s a beautiful and sweet puppy, he does love to chew things he shouldn’t, but with time patience and training, he would make a wonderful pet. I have dog doors to allow free roaming inside and outside and does not use the bathroom in the house. He’s good on a leash and not food aggressive.

Hi we got Boise from our neighbors who got her an unexpected birthday present for their daughter. They did not want pet and the person who gave her to their daughter wouldn’t take her back. She was a good fit however or financial situation has changed so we are moving and there’s no pets. We have little non gentle kids and she does great with them. I think a happy home that has the time and energy to put into her breed would be the best home for her.

Christmas is a spectacular 1-year-old, 46-pound Australian Shepherd mix (best guess!). She was picked up as a stray and had a knee injury to the patella which required repositioning. She is currently taking water therapy to gain strength from muscle weakness which resulted from non use due to the pain. She has made great progress in therapy which will wrap up around 4/11/25. Christmas is ready to accept adoption applications. She is dog and people friendly & loves kids! She is house & leash trained and super food motivated. To meet Christmas in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application. ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care. All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption! * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325 Dogs (over 12 months) - $275 Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions. Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.
