Story
Meet Saint – A True Survivor Ready for His Forever Home! Saint is a stunning Catahoula/Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his story. This handsome boy was rescued from a local shelter after being found all alone with a severely broken leg. He was in desperate need of medical care, and thanks to the quick action of Legacy Humane Society and the loving care of his foster family, Saint is now fully recovered and thriving! Now healed and full of life, Saint is ready for his next chapter—with a forever family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and fantastic with people and other dogs. (He hasn’t been cat-tested yet, but we’re happy to do so upon request.) Saint is an energetic, athletic pup who lives for playtime. He’s a fan of fetch, tug-of-war, and zoomies, so an active home (and maybe a playful canine sibling) would be perfect for this spirited guy. He plays hard and loves harder! ✔️ Vetting Info: • Neutered • Up to date on vaccinations • Microchipped • Heartworm negative DOB: 4/23/24 ⚖️ Weight: 45 lbs  Adoption Fee: $125 If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and playful pup, Saint is waiting for you! Fill out the adoption application today, and his foster will be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Looking for you ride-or-die soulmate-the kind who sticks by your side through every season of life? Kennedy might just be your girl. She's a survivor with a heart of gold. In 2018, Kennedy was rescued from a shelter where she endured Hurricane Harvey in an outdoor cage, facing 140 mph winds. Whatever came before that storm, she's never let it define her. Kennedy is resilient, wise, and full of love. For the past six years, she's been more than a pet, she's been a steady companion, a hiking partner, a sunset-watching sidekick, and a quiet comfort during hard days. She's snuggled through tears, celebrated joyful moments, and made solo walks feel like shared adventures. Kennedy doesn't just live in your home--she lives in your heart. Kennedy's ideal home is peaceful and loving. She's not a fan of chaos or high-energy dogs, and she's grown less tolerant of small or bouncy pups. She'd thrive as your one-and-only or with other big dogs who respect her space and vibe. She is ready for her next chapter, a home where she can be someone's best friend, protector, and partner in quiet joy. If you're looking for a dog who truly sees you, Kennedy is waiting. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Kennedy is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.August 13, 2026, 12:13 am

Story
Tycho is a sweet, smart, stubborn boy. Any puzzle toys we've found last him no longer than 5 minutes, and he loves snuggle time on the couch. He's a big homebody, though also territorial towards strangers. We need to rehome him because he simply needs to have more interaction and more training than we can provide anymore. He's developed some separation anxiety and some defensive behaviors because we just can't get enough energy out of him in a day. We're looking for a home that will be able to prioritize his activity levels and work on training with him since he really does want to be loved, he just doesn't trust easy. He is very particular about a lot of things, but also relatively well trained. We are more than willing to work with any interested parties to teach them all about him and his quirks, as well as help transition him and all his things to a new home.

Story
Hi, I’m GriffI’ve had a really rough start in life. I was found tied to a tree in terrible condition by one of the amazing volunteers, and that’s how I made my way to Apollo. I was scared, confused, and in need of medical care—but thanks to the rescue, I got the help I needed. I’m feeling so much better now, and the only thing left is a little bit of hair loss, which just makes me extra special.I was born in 201&, and I’ve already experienced abandonment and neglect. Because of that, the loud noises and busy environment at the rescue make me pretty anxious. But once you get to know me, you’ll see that I’m actually the cutest, quirkiest pup who loves to make people laugh and have fun.I’m looking for an active family who will love me, train me, and be patient while I continue to learn that the world can be a safe place. I’ll need understanding and kindness as I work through my past, but I promise I’m worth it.I’m neutered and up to date on all my shots. Right now, it’s hard to say if I’m dog reactive because the rescue environment is overwhelming for me. With time, a quieter home, and proper decompression, I may be able to tolerate other dogs—but slow, thoughtful introductions will be important. What I really need is someone willing to see past my rough beginning and help me write a happy ending. If you’re ready to give me that chance, I’d love to meet you.If you are interested in adopting, please copy and paste this link into your browser...https://www.apollosupportandrescue.org/adoptthisdog.htmlIncluded with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.Show less

Story
Hi I`m Cali, I also go by Cali girl. I was born in 2017. I love to leap through the backyard like a kangaroo chasing after my Kong. We go to the lake and play in the water and take long car rides. I`m a great snuggler so much so I have to be the only animal snuggling. I`m great with kids, love to take long walks and chew on my peanut butter bones. I need a forever home where I am the only one being spoiled. At the facility I enjoy my time in the yard and long walks. If you love my ears in pictures wait till you see them in person!!Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.

Story
Kreed is a German Shepherd with a big heart and a ton of energy. He’s gentle and patient with kids, so he does great in a family setting, and he’s happiest when he’s around his people.Give him a ball and some open space and he’s in heaven. Fetch is his favorite game, and he’d spend all day outdoors exploring if he could. He’s a smart dog who’s picked up plenty of tricks, and he’s fully potty trainedI want to be honest about why I’m rehoming him: it’s nothing he did wrong. I love Kreed, but my schedule has changed and he deserves more time and attention than I’m able to give him right now. He needs someone who can walk him, play with him, and give him the active life he thrives on.If you’ve got room for an affectionate, smart, energetic dog who’ll be a loyal companion, I’d love for you to meet him. I think he’d make someone a great best friend.

Story
Meet Bowie! A loyal five-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky/Australian Cattle Dog mix currently in Castle Rock, CO, whose gentle spirit shines through his striking tricolor coat and unwavering devotion to the people he loves. At 65 pounds, Bowie is a calm, affectionate companion who finds happiness in life's simple pleasures, whether he is soaking up the sunshine, taking a leisurely walk, or curling up with one of his favorite stuffed animals for a cozy nap. He also has a charming Husky-inspired way of "talking," often greeting his favorite people with playful howls that are sure to make you smile! Bowie has completed formal obedience training and proudly knows commands like sit, down, shake, and circle. He travels beautifully, enjoys car rides, comes when called, and settles peacefully when left alone, often choosing a quiet place to relax until his family returns. His easygoing energy makes him a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys a predictable routine and appreciates a dog who is just as happy lounging on the deck as he is exploring the neighborhood. Like many thoughtful dogs, Bowie communicates when he needs space. He has experienced two bite incidents after being unexpectedly hurt or startled when someone accidentally stepped on or fell onto him. Outside of those very specific situations, he is loving, playful, and deeply connected with his trusted people. His guardians have also worked extensively with a professional trainer to successfully address earlier leash reactivity, and he has done very well since then! Bowie thrives in a calm, adults-only home with a low-key lifestyle, thoughtful introductions to visitors, and consistent routines. While he happily shared life with a cat for many years, he needs to be the only dog in his next family. He is healthy, neutered, microchipped, house-trained, current on vaccinations, and eats Hill's Science Diet food to support his sensitive stomach. Bowie has so much companionship, loyalty, and quiet joy to share with the right family. If you are looking for a faithful friend who will happily accompany you through peaceful days and cozy evenings, Bowie may be waiting to meet you! Could Bowie be the devoted companion you've been hoping to welcome into your life? To learn more about adopting him, please contact adopt@joyfulpets.com.
