ADOPT ME HERE (click on or copy and paste link into web browser): https://tinyurl.com/bdzd58hsHello! My name is Pixel. I came to the shelter as a stray originally, was adopted and had a home for a few months, but had to come back to the shelter. I am learning so much here about how to be a good dog. I already know how to sit, stay and shake. I still jump up a bit, but I just get so excited to be with people, I can't help it! Lacy at the front desk says I am the best girl and tells me all the time how beautiful I am and how much she loves my ears. She even likes my super unique back foot that is missing a couple of toes! I love to go for walks and I will be the best pet ever if you give me a chance! I am currently vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, had flea treatment applied, and sterilized. If you are interested in adopting me, please copy and paste the link above into your web browser and fill out an adoption application. I cannot wait to meet you!

Story
Finnius Franklin, “Finn” needs a new home because he’s just not good for a homewith babies or young children. He can be a bit of a problem child but was neveranything serious for his adult humans nor his puppy ‘brother’. However, when ababy became part of future plans his humans took Finn in for some training.Everyone, including Finn agreed he wouldn’t do well in a home with young children.Finn needs leadership and good direction; he is an engaged, smart and athletic dogwho likes human interaction. He would be good with just about any type of training;very typical of the Dutch Shepherd breed.Finn lives with lots of other dogs and has been good playing with them. He hasgood house manners and is crate trained. He enjoys going in the car when he getsthe chance and is good on a leash. This handsome boy could excel with the right leadership and attention.

Story
Berkeley is a 3 month old, 14 lb German Shepherd/Husky mix, but breed mix is just our best guess. Someone forgot to tell Berkeley that she is special needs! This girl is full of spunk and determination, and she is just downright adorable. Berkeley was born with glaucoma in both eyes, so she is almost totally blind. Within a day of arriving at her foster home she was most definitely finding her way around the house and she quickly learned the path to the grass to potty. She is very smart and very confident which will only serve her well in her life ahead. Berkeley is excellent in her crate at night and settles down once the light is off and doesn't make a peep until morning time. She is sleeping in the fosters bedroom which helps. She is not a fan of being left alone, so she needs a home where her people are home a lot more than not. Berkeley adores the other dog in the home and loves to play, wrestle and even chase in the backyard. She will do best in a home with another friendly dog companion to help her learn the ropes of her new home. She learns the lay of the land so quickly, and when she bumps into something, she just goes back and tries another way around. Berkeley may have limited vision, but her sense of smell still works very well, and that will be a huge help in her learning her way around. Berkeley is all puppy, and she is up to the same antics every puppy is up to, like rummaging through the toy basket or investigating what's under the fence. She loves food, a trait that will be so important in training. Berkeley has been examined by a vet ophthalmologist, and she will eventually need surgery to remove both eyes. Humane Tomorrow will pay for that surgery. The vet recommended that we postpone the surgery until after she has settled into her new home since she can still see shadows for now, but the surgery can't be postponed indefinitely. We believe there is someone out there who will adopt this very special, sweet, playful, cuddly girl, and work with her to help her lead a long, full life of being loved by her people. If you are that someone, please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Lucy is a 3 year old, 60 lb Shepherd mix with beautiful black and tan markings. Foster mom says that Lucy is a sweet, smart, affectionate dog. She is loyal and likes to be a companion. She attended a restaurant patio get-together the other night, and she was very friendly with everyone she met. Lucy is excellent on leash, and she just ran a 5K race with her foster. She will be a great running or walking companion! She loves to chase squirrels and rabbits in the back yard. What dog doesn't?? Still, we are recommending a cat-free home for Lucy. She gets along with other dogs her size or smaller, but would also be an excellent only dog. Lucy likes to give hugs and kisses and prefers to be in the company of people. She has great house manners, and would be a wonderful companion for someone who is home most of the time. If you would like to meet Lucy, please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
If you have a soft spot for the senior dogs, then check out Handsome Kaiser! He is an 9.5 year old, 80 lb German Shepherd mix. He was in a loving, caring home since he was a puppy, but his person passed away, and he is now in need of another loving, caring home. Kaiser is a big, sweet-natured boy who, despite his size and age, still has some pep in his step. He's good at lounging around most of the day, but also enjoys a slow chase after a ball (although he doesn't seem to care about bringing it back to you). Kaiser is loving, well-behaved, and clearly has had some training in his past life. He likes some dogs but can be picky about which ones, so we think it's best that he just be an only dog. He would prefer it, so he can get all his people's attention! Kaiser is a senior gentleman and comes with a couple of health issues. He has some arthritis and some allergies that are being treated with meds. He will probably need to continue on these meds to make sure he is comfortable. Kaiser will be such a loyal and loving dog for the right adopters. He qualifies for our Senior Dog adoption fee of $125.
