I'm always ready for the next adventure — especially if it involves hiking, swimming and exploring(yes, I take the scenic route whenever possible). If you love the outdoors, we’re already best friends. Trails? I’m in. Lakes? I’m already splashing. Hills? I’ll meet you at the top, tail wagging proudly. I thrive with an active person or family who enjoys getting out and doing things — I make an excellent hiking buddy, jogging partner, or “let’s-see-what’s-over-there” companion. Hi, my name is Prance and I am from Georgia! From his foster: Prance is a sweet, playful boy who loves toys and likes to cuddle up in his bed! He does well with other dogs—he’s especially fond of our resident dog. He is a little timid at first but warms up quickly and has started to find his own personality! He has been doing really well with potty training. He sleeps well in his kennel and absolutely loves playing outside when the weather isn’t super cold. Prance is great with kids and loves our 1 year old son! He would do great with a home that has a yard to play in. He is ready to bring joy, snuggles, and plenty of tail wags to his forever home!

Hi, my name is Vega and I am from Oklahoma. From her foster: Vega is a sweet soul- and she will attach herself to you. She follows me around the whole house and will sit in my lap when I sit. Her favorite is to nap in my armpit- she is a snuggly girl who wants to be close. She is finding her voice and will let you know if you leave her behind. Vega is sporty and has already learned how to go up and down stairs. She is working on potty training and is good at sitting. She is sweet with my 4 year old son and gets along with my two 12lb and smaller chihuahua mixes. She will go in her crate, but she will let you know she would rather be in your arms.

Hi, my name is Mylee and I am from Oklahoma! From her foster: Such a wonderful puppy! So sweet and she's very smart - she picks up tricks and adjusts behavior so quickly as she learns. She knows sit, down, and shake! Loves to play with my resident dog and cat and responds to their body language and cues appropriately, also plays well independently when on her own. A total love bug who likes to be held and snuggled. Typical puppy manners still in progress; mouthiness when excited, some separation anxiety when left alone in her crate, and potty training. All improving day by day and I have no doubts she'll keep learning quickly!

No car, no explanation — just vibes. Meet Blanche and Dorothy, our very own golden gals who were found trotting side-by-side like they were headed to early bird bingo. Sadly, no one came to claim these lovely ladies. But don’t worry — they’ve secured a safe landing with Midwest Animal Rescue. We aren’t exactly sure how many candles belong on their birthday cake — let’s just say they qualify for the senior discount. While they aren’t officially “bonded,” they are absolutely friends. They find comfort in each other and would love nothing more than to spend their golden years in a cozy retirement home together. Blanche likely still believes she’s the belle of the ball. Dorothy keeps things practical and dignified. Together, they’re sweet, seasoned, and ready to trade street life for soft beds, gentle routines, and lots of love. If you’ve got room in your heart for two charming golden girls to live out their happily-ever-after, Blanche and Dorothy are ready to thank you for being a friend. Story
Meet Zoe, a Chihuahua born approx 3/7/2020. Zoe is a sweet girl who has had a lot of transitions in her life. She can be a little slow to warm up, but once she does, she is very cuddly. She has seemed to attach strongly to the mom of the house and does get anxious when she leaves, but eventually settles down. She’s been alone up to 6 hours, has been free floating around the house, and has not had any accidents or destroyed anything during that time. Zoe is house-trained, and scratches at the door when she needs to be let out. She is not kennel trained. She has been great with our 3.5 year old daughter. Initially she was respectful and a little afraid of our cat, but she has had a few instances of lashing out toward the cat, She has been great with our small dog, and has met other big dogs on leash and has reacted positively. She loves walks, and while she pulls sometimes, she is easily redirected. Zoe is a medium energy level. She loves running off-leash on our acreage, but can also curl up on the couch and be content. In the car Zoe wants to ride on your lap, but also does fine in the kennel during rides. Zoe is treat motivated, playful, and sweet and will make a great family dog for a very lucky family.    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
