She’s funny, observant, and always ready for her next adventure. As a rescue, Bella can be a little shy at first, but with patience and kindness, she warms up into a sweet and loyal companion. She would do best in an active home that will give her time to feel safe and build trust.     If you’re looking for a playful, loving dog and are willing to go at her pace, Bella could be your perfect match. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Meet Michael! He wants to meet you 😍!Young pup Michael somehow 'lost' his owner - we are not sure what happened, but since no one claimed him when he was found as a stray, we want to help him find his true furever home! He wants to bond!Michael is a 32 pound foxhound/beagle type - kind of 'sheltie size' - a perfect size for folks wanting not too big but not too small! He is submissively sweet - but still young, estimated 10 - 18 months, so has also had a couple play bouts in his short stay with us. Our foster says he walks great on a leash (though a few moving critters have caught his eye so he tried to bolt after them, but wasnt hard to manage). And he potty's outside while on his walks! And he already knows sit! He does appear to have had some negative training, including very bad experiences with the crate, so while hanging at our foster's home he has been lounging on a couch or bed. We are teaching him crate acceptance with treats thrown in an open crate. He is a bit nervous of loud assertive dogs, but has shown calm curious interest with calm small-medium dogs as well as cats while on leash walks indoors.Michael is up to date on vaccines, parvo tested (negative), and has his neutered scheduled soon - let us know if you are interested in becoming Micahel best friend!!!

Story
Meet Millie: Your Future Best Friend! Born in Texas on May 27, 2023, Millie entered the world as one of nine beautiful puppies. Her mom is believed to be a purebred Harrier, though her dad remains a mystery. Millie’s journey to our rescue began when her foster could no longer secure a permanent home for her and her siblings. Like many pups in Texas, she faced the heartbreaking risk of abandonment, starvation, or euthanasia. Thankfully, she found her way to us, and now she’s searching for a loving forever home. This smart, playful, and easygoing pup is expected to grow to about 50-60 pounds, making her the perfect family companion. She is fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped. If Millie has captured your heart, visit serendipityanimalrescue.org for more information or to submit an application!

Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Granby is a handsome 8-year-old Foxhound/Beagle mix. He has had a lot of change in his life and is seeking new accommodations. First, his human died and then his best buddy who was a cat died. He finds himself a little out of sorts with folks who are keeping him safe but not dog people. He is house trained and walks well on leash. He is tentative about strangers coming to the house and needs to work on proper introductions or put in another room or crate if guests are over. Granby has 5 personal trainer sessions with a trainer who knows him that will transfer to his adopter (Falls Church, VA area, willing to travel in DMV area). His ideal home is a quiet one without children and lots of people coming and going. We are seeking an adopter who has Fox Hound or dog experience who knows how to show leadership to a pup. He weighs 70 pounds and is full grown. Adoption fee is waived, but approval process is not. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. If you are interested in fostering to adopt, please fill out the online application: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ If you have been approved within the past 6 months and are interested in Granby, please reply to your approval email. Email dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with questions. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates: www.facebook.com/lcarmd
