Brutus is a loving, loyal dog that I adopted from a shelter in 2022. He is very affectionate and enjoys being close to his people. Brutus can be a little clingy, but that is part of his charm. He is sensitive to loud noises, which can make walks stressful for him, so he would do best in a home with a securely enclosed yard where he can exercise and play comfortably. He loves snacks and surprisingly enjoys trips to the groomer. Brutus is part of a bonded pair with Stink, whose shelter name was Agatha. Stink is a Boxer Pit Bull mix with a sweet, gentle temperament. She is quiet, laid-back, and prefers a calm environment. She enjoys relaxing in a cozy spot and staying out of any drama. These two dogs are devoted companions and bring out the best in each other. They are looking for a loving home where they can stay together and continue sharing their special bond.

Trueno (“Thunder” in Spanish) is a young dog who is struggling with the shelter environment, but continuing to show promising progress with patient, positive handling.Since intake, Trueno has shown fear and anxiety, particularly around leashing, sudden movement, and unfamiliar people. However, staff have consistently observed that he responds well to calm interactions, treats, gentle encouragement, and low-pressure handling. Over time, he has begun approaching handlers willingly, taking treats softly, engaging in training games, and allowing increased handling. Trueno has also shown the ability to recover, re-engage, and settle with experienced guidance and management.Trueno recently participated in a playgroup with other dogs and did well overall, displaying a gentle/dainty play style and social behavior. Staff noted that maintaining positive, structured interactions helped him succeed.Trueno is a year and 7 months young, neutered male listed as an American Foxhound. Tested negative for HW and is up to date on Rabies, DAPP, Bordetella vaccinations, and microchipped.
