Inca was born in January 2020 and came to us at 4 months old via a rescue. DNA results indicate she is an American Foxhound. Inca is crate trained, and will always "go crate" when offered a food incentive (i.e.; a frozen kong mixed with kibble and cream cheese or peanut butter). Inca does have a sensitive tummy, so we never provide table scraps or any dairy. She enjoys sleeping during the day in her dog beds in sunny spaces around the house or in the backyard. Inca is not a "velcro" dog and she likes having her own space; but, will want to know where everyone is before she settles down. Inca is potty and crate trained and knows sit, down, come, place, gentle & break very well. Inca is very strong (may pull during walks) but very friendly, loving, and tolerant. Inca loves to sniff and is protective of her food. Inca does occasionally bark at wildlife and will want to chase birds or animals if they are in her space. She does not react aggressively around other dogs unless they initiate.

Duncan is the epitome of relaxation, he loves to lounge around with you on the couch and likes to stretch out to relax. He has enjoyed sunbathing and hanging out with other dogs, cats, and his humans! He is always very happy, but has plenty of energy to expend, don't let his calm demeanor fool you. He loves to throw toys around and chase them by himself, and doesn't mind play time at all! Duncan has done well walking on leash, he has also done well in homes, and even knows how to "sit when encouraged with treats! He sometimes likes to stop on walks and just pause, but with a little encouragement, he has no problem starting right back up! He has also needed extra encouragement entering vehicles, but a few treats, and maybe a little push makes everything better! He has done well in the car, and loves adventures, he settles right into new environments and does not mind anything at all. I will be your new best friend! I like nothing more than to sit by your side or even between your legs all the time. I obey instantly because I want to please you. All your belongings are safe with me -- I do not chew anything, not even toys. I am OK with being along for a couple hours, but please don't leave me all day. I don't bark either, so life with me is very peaceful. I am wary of strangers and want to protect you, so proper introductions are very important. Then I am a lovebug! I do enjoy going outside, either on a walk or exploring my yard for strange smells. When I see you pick up the leash, I get so excited that I can hardly sit still! But because I am a hunting breed, it is a good idea to make sure that no little wildlife is in my yard when I am released. A comfortable bed, good food, and someone to love all day is all I ask! True to my breed, I am a goofy-fun, loving hound and may greet you with a polite paw shake! I enjoy the great outdoors and, when running around, my abundant ears gleefully flap in the wind and I often get the zoomies. I walk nicely on the leash and a perfect day would be a long walk followed by snoozing in the sunshine or curling up on a soft bed. I am always up for an adventure just open the car door and - vroom, vroom, I am ready to go! I enjoy the company of other dogs and love to chase and be chased - play growling all the while. Like many dogs, I have some quirks, but, overall, I am very affectionate and will lavish you with affection and, in turn, would welcome ear scratches and belly rubs. Some hounds are known for being somewhat 'talkative' but not me - I am quiet and even lived in an apartment for several months without any noise issues. Hounds are also known for relishing food and, to that, I plead 'guilty' for I do, indeed, love my food. That said, I sit for all meals and take treats very nicely.
