Koda is a young spirited fella with a very friendly and amiable nature. As a large dog, Koda thrives on being outdoors and loves his walks. He really likes to Play with other dogs and tries to play with every dog he sees along the way,He does OK with kids too, but would do best in a home without cats. Koda loves his food, but he can get a little protective around it, especially when other dogs are around. This means he'd do best in a home where he's the only dog. He is also housebroken and crate trained. Koda is ready to find a home where he can share his loyalty and playful spirit with a family who will cherish him forever. Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Happy Hound Dog Looking for a Home RILEY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Riley       Best Guess for Breed:    Foxhound Mix    Best Guess for Age:    1 year as of January 2026        SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:    35 lbs as of January 2026   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:    Shelter. She needs a DC-area foster home or adopter to make her way out of the shelter.   Special adoption considerations: Riley is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Riley is Looking For:    A family to take her on long sniffaris - she is eager to explore her new home with that hound nose! Riley would love a warm, loving home where she can get lots of treats, go on adventures, and make new friends.   What My Foster Says About Me:    Coming soon! We will update this when she has spent time in a foster home.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at    www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!    Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact    fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org   ! Story
https://foha.org/pet/nolan/ Nobody knows love, nose rubs, affection and nonstop fun like Nolan. Never in your wildest dreams will you come across a never-ending bundle of happiness and kindness like Nolan. I am a dog of many nodes of joy. I prefer to be very active, as my energy knows no bounds. Long walks, big yards, non-stop tug of war are the things that I smile most for. Leash walking is no problem for me, but like my hound dog roots I prefer to set the pace and direction. Calm and quiet are my preferred settings so I would do best in a home nuzzled in a quiet neighborhood or on a serene block. A few Nolan "no-no's are other pets or children. I need to be in a house with an experienced owner who can give me their undivided attention. I do have a strong startle reflex so I should not be allowed on the furniture with you. I would like my own bed to the side where I am safe and sound. Take the time to get to know me, be patient with me as we warm up to each other, and I will show you a dog who will never leave your side and who will always be there for you. Nolan is sponsored by Carolyn Landry: Stacey Gimbert - Thank you for all you do for those who can't help themselves. You are blessing to them and to me. Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. CAROB is a wonderful dog…Basset mix. DOB 2/14/25, current weight 28#s. She came to us in November along with her sister and mother. Carob’s processing was delayed because she was pregnant. We let her have her pups and she did a great job of caring for them and they will soon be advertised. BUT… Carob is ready to go now. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is a very loving and affectionate dog. She loves to go outside to run and play with the other dogs. She plays with many of my dogs like she’s just a pup. She leaves my 3 cats alone…for the most part. I do have one cat that literally likes to wrestle with her and she loves it. For the most part, she is house trained but needs to learn how to tell you she needs to go out. We do have our dogs on a regimen which allows her to do her business outside regularly. Even though her official name is Carob (based on the name for chocolate) she was called “Mama” most of the time…and this name she knows. She does like to be outside for hours (of course it’s warmer down here in Texas) but she’ll come in when called. She walks on the leash with enthusiasm and rides in the car with no problems. She loves to go everywhere and everyone is a friend. She is crate trained…but can do her Basset Hound howl when she needs to go out. We do not recommend adopting her to anyone living in an apartment. CAROB is a fantastic, loving dog. She’ll make someone a great companion and will be good with children. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." Adoption Fee: Includes all of the vetting and transportation to WA/OR. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
BEAU IS A COURTESY POST - IF INTERESTED, EMAIL INFO@PETEY&FURENDS.ORG Name: Beau Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 10 months old (as of 1/16) Best Guess for Breed: Basset Mix Weight: About 30 lbs (as of 1/16) Lives With: Dogs and cats…and does great with all people! Housebroken? He’s working on his potty training and making great progress! Story: Beau is a happy little guy found on the streets of DC. After a week, no owners have responded, and so his finder/foster is looking for a good home. Beau is friendly with dogs and cats, and people. His foster doesn’t have children but he has been calm and happy around them on walks. He is absolutely delightful - he loves going on walks and playing with toys, people, and his resident dog brother. He is a smart cookie and picks up on potty training and basic commands super fast. Beau could go to a home with or without other pets. He’s an ideal age for continued socializing and adapting to probably any environment. He currently lives in a city apartment and is content, though he of course is happy trotting around outside in fields. Beau is a healthy and sturdy dog; basset caretakers do have to take special considerations to protect their backs including being careful about how rough and with whom they play, and using stairs instead of jumping off furniture. He is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. If you think that Beau might be your perfect match, please email info@peteyandfurends.org.January 20, 2026, 5:58 pm
