She was bred three times which is three times too many. Lala is so sweet and loving, she craves the attention she never got and wants to sleep with you, near you or physically on top of you!!! She came from a home with a not so nice male human so she will have to go into an all female low-key home without a lot of visitors or commotion. Lala has a snore that rivals someone with sleep apnea. You can hear her from rooms away. It is so cute so hopefully you can sleep through her snoring. She was extremely skinny and emaciated when we got her. She has slowly been gaining weight which has helped her confidence and not feeling like she isn't going to get fed. She has been at the vet for typical Frenchie skin issues. Lala loves to run around the backyard sniffing and investigating everything around. Lala could live by herself or with a low-key dog her size or smaller. She deserves a loving home where she can get a lot of love and attention. Story

Tiffany was stranded and abandoned in a garbage bag. After being discovered she went to the Emergency hospital in Jan 2023 with a rectal prolapse. Due to the severity of the prolapse Tiffany had to have a portion of her colon removed. She has healed from her surgeries (1/10/23: rectal resection and anastomosis; 1/11/23: colopexy and spay). Since Tiffany had a portion of her colon removed she does defecate frequently, this may improve with time or it may not. Tiffany has skin allergies as she has some areas on her back and sides of less hair growth, she is currently on a limited ingredient diet and medicated baths. Upon adoption her need to go outside did not improve so at night and when I’m not home she has to wear diapers. My life was thrown a curveball and I am not home like I was in the past. She needs someone who has the time to spend with her. She is very loyal and will follow you around the house. She is jealous, no children under the age of 10. She also fears garbage bags.

If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Benoit (born: 12/12/2022), weighs 24 pounds and is a young French Bulldog who knows how to sit, loves to run and play, has fun with his toys and enjoys having a treat. Born with a congenital eye issue, Benoit had to have surgery to remove his right eye when he was just 10 weeks old and he continues to have follow-ups with an ophthalmologist for his left eye, which has limited vision, for life. Benoit also developed a head tilt and the neurologist has diagnosed him with Hydrocephalus and the doctor prescribed Omeprazole – which is a medication he will have to take for life. After many visits to the neurologist, we have learned that Benoit will have to be on steroids and pulse antibiotics for life. Benoit is a complicated medical case and he will need to see a neurologist and an ophthalmologist for the rest of his life. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter.
