Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Melodie (GA) is a female French Bulldog/English Bulldog mix estimated to be 3 years old at the time of intake in December 2024. Melodie is up to date on core vaccinations and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining her forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Melodie is good with people and other dogs. We found this beautiful girl in a shelter suffering with a very severe prolapse which the shelter was not equipped to treat. So we busted Melodie out of there and rushed her to our veterinary partner for immediate surgery to repair the proplapse. Melodie is now on the road to recovery. We would also like to have Melodie on the road to her forever home as soon as she is all healed up, so if you are looking for a spunky, happy, gorgeous girl to join your family, please apply online to adopt Melodie (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 7, 2025, 1:13 am

Story
Benoit (born: 12/12/2022), weighs 23 pounds and is a French Bulldog who knows how to sit, loves to run and play with the other dogs, has fun with his toys and enjoys having a treat. Born with a congenital eye issue, Benoit had to have surgery to remove his right eye when he was just 10 weeks old and he continues to have follow-ups with an ophthalmologist for his left eye. Benoit also developed a head tilt and the neurologist has diagnosed him with Hydrocephalus and the doctor prescribed Omeprazole – which is a medication he will have to take for life. Since Benoit is still a puppy, the dose for this medication will need to be adjusted as he gains weight. Benoit is also currently on antibiotics for approximately 3 – 4 months – the antibiotics were started 11/11/2023 and after another visit with the Neurologist again on 11/26/2023 it was confirmed he will continue. Benoit is also being tapered from a steroid that the neurologist put him on when his head tilt returned post neuter and nares surgery. It is a long taper of six months and began on 10/1/2023. The head tilt corrected itself for a while but has returned. The doctor believes it is an inner ear infection. He is also due for another revisit with the ophthalmologist for an updated evaluation of the one eye he has. UPDATE 2/11/2024: Benoit has finished his course of antibiotics and he no longer has an obvious head tilt. At his last visit with the neurologist on 1/13/2024, the doctor let us know that in addition to the Omeprazole that Benoit will have to be on a low dose of steroid for life. At his last visit with the ophthalmologist on 1/4/2024, the doctor let us know that Benoit should have annual visits for his eye and that if anything seems wrong with his eye at any time, not to wait and to have it checked out right away, otherwise he could lose the one eye he has. UPDATE 3/17/2024: Benoit had Neurolgy Consult/Follow-Up with his neurologist *per the neurologist, Benoit likely has OMI (Otitis Media/Interna) with exacerbation of underlying congenital malformations *Continue Simplicef 100mg sid for total of 6 months *Continue Prednisone 2.5mg eod long-term *Continue Omeprazole sid long-term *recheck with Neurologist 5 months post starting Simplicef UPDATE 3/28/2024: with Internal Medicine and Ophthalmologist – enucleation site has oozing and the Ophthalmologist says that it can take up to and over a year to completely heal. Per the culture of the site, Internal Medicine prescribed Zenoquin (resistant to other antibiotics for this issue) for at least 2 weeks – will recheck then to see if medication needs to be given for longer. Benoit is a complicated medical case and he will need to see a neurologist and an ophthalmologist for the rest of his life. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. Story
* KALI IS AVAILABLE FOR OUR FOSTER TO ADOPT PROGRAM* Kali is a 9 year old, 25-pound female French Bulldog from the San Diego Humane Society. Affectionately called Meatball, she is a bundle of energy and has a classic Frenchie attitude. She LOVES her humans and always wants to play. She will readily roll over on her back expectantly waiting for belly rubs with excited snorts. When her foster mom comes home from work she greets her at the door with hoarse excited barks and DEMANDS all the attention, pets/scratches, and belly rubs one is willing to give. After a good zoomie session, she's ready to snuggle and relax on the floor (or the couch if she can get a lift up there). One of the cutest things is when she face plants into you and just settles in for a good cuddle.  Kali is housebroken (wee wee pads and outside trained). She does well with 3 walks a day with a wee wee pad to relieve herself while her foster mom is out at work. Kali has shown no separation anxiety when left alone. Kali can be reactive to bigger dogs on walks and has been working on her leash manners. She walks nicely next to her people, and does the best sniffies in the grassy areas. On walks you can expect some barking at other dogs as they pass by, but she can move along pretty quickly. She is smart, and eager to please her foster mom when on walks (when prompted to do so, she will look to her for cues). We also think she knows SIT! Kail will thrive with an owner who is breed familiar and ready to form a bond with her through continued training.  She would be happiest as a solo dog, as she is only really interested in love from humans. She is currently fostered with a dog and cats and will tolerate them but does not seek out affection from them. She has the tendency to guard her bed and objects from other animals so should she be adopted to a home with other pets, it would need to be an experienced family, who would closely manage behaviors in the home. As a solo dog she has shown no guarding behavior.Kali would do fine in a home with older children - she can be mouthy with play, which might overwhelm young children, but she has no problem with little humans and would love a family that will dote on her and play with her endlessly. Kali had one eye removed due to a previous injury, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. Recently, she also had a mass removed and biopsied. The mass came back as a Mast Cell tumor, the most common skin tumor in dogs. The biopsy classified the tumor as low grade and was completely removed (meaning the surgery is expected to be curative as these tumors are unlikely to spread to other parts of the body). Kali will need to be monitored for any new bumps but doesn't need any specialized care besides regular senior wellness exams with her primary vet. If you have any questions our adoption team is happy to share her medical records and speak with you further. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply for Kali, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2338050##

Story
Meet Orange Ginger! Orange Ginger is an angel. She's been loving her new foster home and is becoming more and more comfortable acclimating to her new enviornment every day. She does not like staying in the crate overnight/for long periods of time because of her past neglect. She sleeps in bed because she's a cuddler and will try to get your attention if she has to go out, so she doesn't go to the bathroom inside. She's very smart and picks up on things quickly. She is blind in one eye, so sometimes she comes across as ditsy, but really she's just getting an understanding of her surroundings and quite frankly... it's adorable. She is unphazed by other dogs when we walk outside and new humans can either excite her or she wont even notice they're there. Personality & Characteristics: She's spunky, curious and as sweet as can be. Always wants to snuggle and know that her people are close by. My foster dog is good with: People and dogs. Hasn't been tested around kids but this girl is chill. My foster dog is: Low shed3 Keywords for your pup: Chill, sweet, lovebug Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 3Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Quiet pupWalking Manners: Good! Although she's a little all over the place when she stops at every door where she can see her reflection. She wont tug on the leash or jump up on people around her and if she's sniffing something bad if you tell her to "leave it", she listens and moves on. Because she can't see out of her one eye, she's always stopping and turning her head to see everything around her. She's a southern gal and does not like to stay outside too long in the cold.Appetite: Good! We're getting her used to eating 3 times a day (kibble & pumpkin, but will eat anything)Favorite Things: Looking at her reflection in the mirror, chin and head scratches & snugglingCommands/Tricks: Currently learning the basics (sit, down, etc.) ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2281588##

Story
Meet Klein💚 Klein was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Jeongeup as a young puppy, along with her four siblings. The group was placed in Jeongeup Shelter, where they lived for about a year before being put on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, ADogs stepped in and rescued Klein and her siblings just in time. • With People: Klein is a gentle and sweet-natured dog, but she is a bit shy around new people. She doesn’t immediately approach strangers but wears an adorable smile and warms up over time. If you offer her a treat, she will quickly gain confidence and even show her affectionate side! • With Dogs: She gets along well with other dogs and had a great relationship with her siblings. At the shelter, she socializes easily and does well in group settings. • With Cats: She has never been introduced to cats, so her reaction is unknown. • Separation Anxiety: Since she currently lives in a shelter, it’s unclear if she experiences separation anxiety. She may need some training and adjustment when transitioning to a home. • Potty Training: She is used to outdoor potty training at the shelter and may need guidance when transitioning to an indoor environment. • Grooming & Handling: Klein is very easygoing and allows bathing, drying, and nail trimming without fuss! • Walking & Socialization: She loves going on walks and has been trained well at school, so she doesn’t pull on the leash. She enjoys exploring and is a polite walking companion. • Car Rides: She does not experience motion sickness and rests calmly in the car during travel.

Story
Meet Brown🧡 Brown was rescued from a dog meat farm in Jeongeup along with his four littermates when he was just a puppy. After spending a year at the Jeongeup Shelter, he was put on the euthanasia list, but ADogs intervened just in time and rescued the siblings. Brown now lives peacefully with his rescued friends. • With People: Brown has a gentle and cautious personality. He may be a bit shy at first, but he’s also curious—he’ll approach new visitors slowly, especially if they have treats. With shelter staff and familiar people, he shows sweet affection, even offering kisses. • With Dogs: He prefers to keep to himself and doesn’t actively seek out other dogs, but he coexists peacefully with them. He’s an independent spirit who enjoys his alone time. • With Cats: He gets very excited when he sees cats, so it’s best to avoid interactions or walks near cats. • Separation Anxiety: Unknown due to group living at the shelter. • Potty Training: He currently goes only outdoors for potty. • Grooming & Handling: He tolerates baths calmly and accepts drying, though he freezes up a little from fear. He doesn’t enjoy nail clipping or brushing, but he’s very non-aggressive and cooperative with short sessions. • Walking & Leash Training: A perfect walker! He walks in sync without pulling and seems to truly enjoy his walks. • Car Rides: He rides comfortably in the car and shows no signs of motion sickness. 💌Special Notes💌 • Brown seems more comfortable wearing a collar than a harness. • He has coprophagia (stool eating), so it’s important to clean up right after potty. This behavior often improves with training in a home environment.

Story
Meet Flip Flop! This three-year-old boroughbred cutie is a certified mush who just completed his training program with our friends at Personal Paws. He's now the definition of a well-trained pup and is ready to find his forever family! When Flip Flop arrived in our care, it quickly became clear that he had been through a tough start to life: he had an old dislocated hip injury that his body was forced to adjust to, and he was highly excitable, struggling to contain big feelings, especially around new people and other dogs. Not to fear! He's proven to be one resilient, determined pooch, and his training has helped him learn to manage his emotions and communicate appropriately with his world. We know he'll only continue to grow more polite and confident as he hones his skills! Flip Flop thrives with proper structure and a clear routine, and is house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, an all-star! He is the perfect mix of silly and studious: he equally loves to play and to learn, and is looking for a family who can match his freak. He's a loyal pup who loves his people fiercely, and is perfect for someone seeking a ride or die companion to go through life with. According to his former foster parents, "Flip loves being with his people and has so much love to give! He never fails to make us laugh - his personality is even bigger than his head, and living with him is like having your own real life cartoon. He is so fun to train and eager to please. He's easily one of the most special dogs we've known, and he has the absolute best heart." Flip Flop would do best in a home outside of the city, away from the hustle and bustle, and is suited for an adult-only home, or one with older children who can respect boundaries, while he continues sharpening his good boy skills. His future family will not only get a very well-trained boy, but also a detailed training plan and follow-up sessions to keep him on the right track.
