Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 at Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, NJ from 11am - 3pm! Meet Speck! Speck is a 7-year-old, 37 pound Frenchie who loves snuggles, massages and following you around the house. Speck has been such a fast learner - he's picking up on housebreaking amazingly quickly and learning to do steps for the first time! Speck has loved on everyone he has met so far, and he's just an adorable little mush! He has listened when told to stop eating something he shouldn't and is treat motivated. Some of Speck's favorite things have been pulling his kitty sibling's tunnels around by their puffball string and running around in the backyard. If you're looking for a love bug that just wants snuggles, Speck might be your perfect match! Speck is currently being fostered in Huntington Station, NY, and his adoption fee is $600. Speck is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Apple - 3 years, 35lbs, Frenchie/Pug Mix, Spayed  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program.  Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Thier Foster Parent Says: "Apple is the sweetest and most lovable girl! She’s an incredibly gentle and well-behaved pup with a curious spirit. Most of the time, she’s calm and cozy.. a true snuggle bug who could spend hours cuddling and soaking up belly rubs (her all-time favorite activity!). When she gets a burst of energy, she loves playing with her squeaky toys, throwing them up in the air, and showing off her playful side. On walks, she tends to get the attention of passerby’s with her adorable face and frequent head tilts. She’s a wonderful apartment dog who is respectful, mostly quiet, and happiest when she’s close to her people. She’s also getting into a good potty routine, typically going in the morning and improving every day as she adjusts to her schedule. She even enjoys her paws being cleaned with her doggy wipes when she gets back into the apartment (she treats it like she’s at the spa!). Apple is the perfect mix of affectionate, mellow, and curious, and will make an awesome companion in her forever home!" Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  TOLERANCE TO CITYCity pup – Seems unfazed by the sights and sounds, may as well have been born here. POTTY TRAININGYes – Few or no accidents  COMFORT LEVEL WITH STRANGERSIn between bean – Fine with meeting new people but not particularly interested, kind of shy in busy social situations like a gathering or a packed day in the park.  BEHAVIOR WITH CHILDREN (always requires adult supervision)Yes for most ages – very confident, gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy  SOCIAL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER DOGSYes – Good with most other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other canines*** she will pull towards some other dogs because she wants to say hi but is very easy to redirect and keep walking. She can also be unfazed as well. We have only allowed her to socialize in very quick on-the-go interactions but seems good with other dogs. Used to live with other dogs - okay to be in a home with another dog :)  RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER ANIMALS (cats, small pets, etc.)Okay to be in a home with cats - we don't forsee this being an issue and she came from a home with cats  MOUTHY BEHAVIORPast this stage– Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in their mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime SEPARATION ANXIETY (Please leave your foster dog home alone every day for at least 20 minutes.) Past this stage – Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or exhibit destructive behavior when you leave the apartment or house.  LEASH MANNERSGetting the hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in their life but figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction.  CUDDLE BUG LEVELHigh – Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the time  JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLOCalm Greetings – Doesn’t jump up on people or dogs. Always all four on the floor.  CRATE TRAININGYep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night. *** we left her in the crate when we were at work for the first few days and she would walk into it when we pointed at it without using any words. She seems to be used to it and falls asleep but she is very good so we don’t put her in the crate anymore. She sleeps in her dog bed in our room at night, not in the crate. Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Recovering from an ear infection - common for the breed mix.  Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Puerto Rico or Southern California. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to NJ for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Fishy Longbottom! Introducing Fishy Longbottom, a charming French Bulldog who’s as sweet and snuggly as his name is unique! This 2–3-year-old, 20-pound bundle of joy has a heart full of love and a playful spirit that’s impossible to resist. Fishy is a cuddle champion — his favorite place is right by your side (or in your lap if you’ll let him!). When he’s not soaking up attention, he loves playing with toys and rolling around happily in his dog bed. He loves car rides, too! He’s great with kids, cats, and other dogs, making him a perfect fit for just about any household. Fishy walks nicely on a leash and is both house and crate trained, so he’s ready to fit right into your routine. Fishy is also a special needs pup. His vet suspects he may have a form of megaesophagus, though it hasn’t been officially confirmed. The good news? He’s doing wonderfully on his current medications and is living his best, happy life! He came to us as an owner surrender due to his owners not being able to handle his condition. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate, and resilient little dog who will fill your home with joy (and cuddles), Fishy Longbottom is your guy! Interested in becoming a forever home for Fishy? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us.For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $850. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public in Oklahoma. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
