Updated Bio as of June 2023: Jupiter was originally found as a lost pup with her 2 brothers in a corn field during winter. She nearly froze to death, she was so cold she couldn't run/move quickly and people were able to catch her. They were all very thin and had to fight to survive with the coyotes out there. Jupiter is learning to trust humans and will be a happy dog around me but still skittish over touch. With new people she will take time to warm up for sure. Jupiter's adoption fee is sponsored. She is ok with other dogs but initially acts like she's aggressive. It's the survival mode in her. Once she knows they aren't going to hurt her she warms up. She will need to be fed separately from other animals. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We adopted Ella at KC Pet Project in 2019. She is now 8 years old and is very playful. She was very skiddish when we first got her so she does not respond well to yelling or clapping out of frustration. I believe she needs to be in a single dog household. She is very cuddly and loves walks. She responds decent off leash and will come back if called. If professionally trained I’m sure she would be a great hiking/trail dog. We are so sad to have to get rid of her, but I think it would be best for her to be able to get the walks and love she deserves!

He's very intelligent and can be trained with proper training! I have to get rid of him due to a child moving in with him who is highly allergic. Shots up to date. Neutered. Dog friendly. Cat friendly. Kid friendly. When feeding he does follow the wait command until released with the “get it” command.

Axel is the kindest dog I have ever known, he’s a cuddle bug, loves to play and is incredibly respectful in the house.. unless you leave a steak on the counter, fair game at that point. It’s with a very heavy heart that I am rehoming him but I was only supposed to be taking care of him for a few months while my friend got back on her feet, ultimately he was abandoned with us. We love him VERY much but we don’t have the time or resources to properly care for a dog of this breed and energy, he deserves a home that can accommodate all of his needs so he can live the best life possible. You won’t only be getting a dog by adopting him, you will also have a new best friend, he’s incredibly loyal and trusting with a really goofy personality that’s hard to stay mad at when he eats your steak off the counter haha.

Spirit is from an accidental litter in Wyoming. She's just under a year old (her birthday is 09/05/2025) and full of energy. I would love if she could find a farm or a ranch - she's definitely a working dog.High prey drive, and very quick to chase after rabbits, birds, and even the occasional deer. She doesn't have much experience with other dogs, and seems a bit nervous around them, but she loves cats and horses. She's a sweetheart, but not much of a cuddler; she wants to run, and run, and run some more. If she could run forever, she would.I genuinely think she could be trained very well to be a working dog; she's incredibly smart, almost too smart for her own good, and very quick to learn tricks and commands. I would recommend a more experienced adopter/animal trainer/farmer with other working dogs for her.I'm not going to ask for anything to rehome her. I would put it at $0 if I could. I just want to make sure she has the best possible life, and that she's able to thrive.
