Story
Pet Location:Wayside Waifs CampusMy Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Waifs with Wisdom. This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - Don`t be fooled by my age, I still have a lot of puppy energy!- Loves tennis balls and stuffy toys!- My previous owner said that I am house-trained. - I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. My home needs are: - I need a home without other dogs - I prefer having your attention all to myself!- I have a lot of energy and need an active adopter!- Cats are much too interesting to me, so it recommended my home be cat free.- Wayside recommends bringing your children 9 years old and younger out to meet me before adoption to make sure they enjoy my enthusiasm for life! - Recommend no apartments or shared living spaces for me- when I am in busier areas with lots of other dogs around I can be reactive on leash.Check out my super cool new video! Scroll through my photos to watch it. Hi there, I’m Xena!I’m a 6-year-old German Shepherd with a zest for life and a heart full of love. Don’t let my age fool you, I’ve still got plenty of that classic Shepherd energy and goofiness that’ll keep you smiling every day. Whether we’re going for a hike, hitting the trails, or just playing in the yard, I’m always up for an adventure with my favorite people.I’m both housetrained and crate trained, so I’ve got the basics down. What I’m really looking for now is an active home where I can stretch my legs, explore the world, and be included in your daily life. I thrive when I have a job to do, even if that job is simply being your loyal sidekick.I got to go on a field trip. I jumped right in the back seat. I rode in the car beautifully. I loved being able to stick my nose out of the windows. We only walked around Minor Park for about 30 minutes since it was already so warm. I did great. I enjoyed a sausage biscuit and an ice cream pup cup from Sonic. We went for an extended car ride after that. I had so much fun. I can`t wait to go again.I am a bit afraid of other dogs and unsure of the best way to interact with them. My friends at Wayside have been working on teaching me how to be comfortable around other dogs but for now, I`ll need a home without other dogs in it and where I don`t have to worry about going t

Story
Butch is 1.5 years old, he is very sweet, loves to play tug of war and fetch, and he loves to run around the yard. He is a bit timid, but warms up to people quickly. He is needing a good home with people that have space for him to run and play. I have taken him into my care temporarily, his previous owner had posted him online for rehoming due to not having the space or ability to accommodate his high energy. He is not neutered, and he is up to date on vaccines. He has some separation anxiety and is nervous in new places or around new people. He needs an experienced owner or someone that can afford training to help him gain confidence and work on his anxiety. He also needs a home that can provide him room to run, take him for walks, and other mental stimulation/enrichment. He is such a sweetie, but I cannot care for him long term.

Story
Colt is a 6 year old dog. He gets along well with our toddler and baby and our other dogs. He is kennel trained and has a good recall. He is not aggressive but does have a deep bark and will alert when there is someone he does not know. He has never had an accident in the house. Colt is high energy so he stresses out our small older dogs. We were fostering him with the intentions of adopting him after he got to know our dogs but our chihuahua continues to have issues with him after months of trying and different methods used. We are rehoming him of no fault of his own but because we do not have the time or energy to give him the life he deserves with the circumstances.

Story
Ivory is a 4 year old female white German shepherd. She’s potty trained and up to date on vaccines. She stays in her kennel while we’re at work but is out all night with no issues. She loves chewing on her bones/toys and laying with you. We have been fostering her since June but are now looking for a permanent home for her. She is not spayed but we would be willing to contribute $400 to getting her fixed if you adopt her. She was previously in a home with another dog and a young child without issues. We hope we can find a loving home for this sweet girl!

Story
Cylas is 1 year old, 55 pounds, neutered, up to date on all vetting, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. Cylas was found as a stray and brought to us when no one came forward to claim him! We cannot believe that nobody claimed him, because he is the sweetest man to walk the earth! He loves to play fetch and when he brings the ball back, he will sit on your feet and wait for you to throw it again. Cylas LOVES his people and once he gets to know you, he is bonded for life. He is quite the energetic boy at only 1 year old, so he will need a family that will give him lots of play time and take him for adventures! He does great with other dogs of all sizes and would be super happy to have a canine companion in his forever home. Cylas can jump fences so he will need to be kept on leash until he bonds to his new family, or in a home with a privacy fence. All in all, Cylas is a super handsome, silly, happy-go-lucky guy and his furever family will be so lucky to have him!

Story
Granger is a lovely German Shepherd dog at our Zona Rosa location. He first came in as a stray on 12/17, so we don`t know his history. He was later adopted and returned after one day due to unrealastic expectations (they had nothing negative to say about this guy!). Granger is not deterred however, and has his heart on his sleeve waiting for a forever home. This big guy can be a little shy at first, but he warms up very quickly (especially with hot dogs - his favorite). Granger is estimated to be 4 years old, in the prime of life. He`s past the high energy antics of a puppy, but still has plenty of playfulness. Plus he knows the joy of a good nap too. What we have come to know and love about Granger is that because he is extremely treat motivated and intelligent, he has picked up the training he has learned at the shelter very quickly. Granger does an amazing job of keeping his kennel clean, and settles into an easy paced walk, where sniffing every few steps is one of his favorite things- making him the perfect and experienced adventure buddy. Granger has done amazing with the young kiddos he has met, although he is still a little bit shy and overwhelmed with all the chaos from the past month alone. Granger is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. Now he just needs a forever home!
