Hi, my name is Niki and I am from Missouri! Niki is calm, easy going, and loving. He appreciates lots of pets, hugs, kisses, and kind voices talking to him. He is a protective guardian as well. An intelligent, strong, but gentle companion. I have never met a dog who receives a treat out of my hand as gently as Niki does. He is cautious when he is first meeting new people, but warms up quickly. Niki would enjoy being the only dog in the home as he thrives on attention and love from his person/people. However, he seems to do well with dogs too. If Niki had his way, he would cuddle up and sleep next to me in the bed at night. However, he is sleeping on a dog cushion at the foot of the bed and/or on the sofa at this time. Niki does not need to be crated/kenneled in the home as he is well behaved. From the foster: We are currently taking two short walks per day in an effort to lose a few pounds, but he wouldn't mind three short walks if that was a possibility. He loves sniffing and exploring the vegetation on our walks. Walks are definitely a highlight of his day. One thing to watch out for would be rabbits. If he sees a rabbit, he will pull and want to chase it, though he does seem receptive to my leading. A little bit of leash training would be beneficial.

Tulane is a shepherd mix who is just looking for a quiet home filled with love. Once he knows he's home and safe he loves nothing more than to nuzzle up close to his people and be held. His happy place is being held, and if he's in your arms he will tolerate just about anything. Tulane is an anxious dog who above all is looking for a relaxed household where he can feel safe, if you give him that, he'll give you his heart. When the world is overwhelming, Tulane knows the best place to find his own inner peace is in a pile of throw pillows. He is regularly found on the couch tucked in between several pillows, in a fort of his own making. To help him get less overwhelmed by the world Tulane takes a daily mental health medicine with his food, he's happy to gobble it right up with his breakfast and then the world is a bit less scary. Tulane is potty trained, crate trained, and not prone to running away, making him ready to fit into his forever home. While he’s friendly with other dogs, Tulane would be best suited to live with a very mellow other dog, or as any only dog. Tulane has a condition called patellar luxation, affecting his kneecap, but its easily managed and doesn't impact his life much. The vet recommends avoiding long walks on pavement, however, this is a blessing in disguise because Tulane doesn't really want to go on walks! He is a homebody who is likely to run and hide when he sees the leash. If you’re looking for an affectionate, and deeply loyal companion who will adore being by your side, Tulane is ready and waiting. Welcome Jack to CCPAL Rescue. Jack is a 4-month-old German Shepherd Pup. He weighs about 35 pounds and he has some really wonky ears. They should be upright sometime soon. He bonds very deeply to his human and follows her around everywhere. He is good in his crate and good with other dogs. He is smart and wants to learn. He is still very clumsy and very much puppy, even though he is pretty big. His dad was around 100 pounds. Jack may be 75 pounds full grown is our best guess. He was found on the side of the road that someone was giving them away or going to take them to the pound. CCPAL took the girl and the boy puppy. Our guess a breeder or something. Jack goes potty outside. He will take a bath but doesn’t like the blowdryer much. He has a medium length coat with some waviness on the hair near his back and back legs. He is a big baby boy, even if he does look like he will have a fierce look. He would be great with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Someone that doesn’t work all day everyday is best for a puppy. He needs to finish his puppy training and he also will be best in a home with someone that knows GSD need physical and mental stimulation to be happy. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200.
