Hi! My name is Chica and I am from Arkansas. Update from Chica's temp foster: I busted out Chica for a long weekend and WOW is she amazing!! She is a couch queen, bed snuggling, fetching, trick learning, porch swing sittin, amazing leash walker, PURE LOVING girl! Kennel is still a work in progress, however being able to talk to her through the camera helped!! I'm gonna do a trial this weekend of putting her in the kennel, but leaving the door cracked. I truly feel like I'll be able to trust her 100% where she doesn't even need to go in the kennel. She does not hesitate to go in the kennel, she'll even go lay in the kennel when we're in the room next-door doing laundry, she'll go down there just to hang out and lay down. She will be on the couch and we can be out of sight and she doesn't get anxious! I can't wait to see how much progress we make this weekend, all of this was within 24 hours! Other dogs, loud noises, squirrels, and rabbits don't seem to really phase her. I have a 14-year-old Puggle mix who is old crabby and stuck in her way, and Chica is not phased. She is one of the most trusting and loving dogs I've ever met/fostered! From her foster: Chica is a sweet little girl who loves to curl up in your arms to snuggle on the couch. She is very intelligent and is quick to pick up new commands. She will beg for your attention when she really wants it. We have one resident dog and two resident cats, she is fine with both. She doesn't bother the cats too much and sometimes will be curious about them, but for the most part, she doesn't acknowledge them. She is currently being kenneled during the day while we are at work and during the night sleeps in her own queen bed with a baby gate at the door. We do not know how she is with small children as we do not have any in our home. Chica has separation anxiety issues and is currently on medication to assist with her anxiety. While we have no problems getting her into the kennel (for the most part she puts herself in the kennel), once we start to leave the house is when she starts to panic by wailing, howling, and barking. She did escape her previous kennel a couple of times and we now have her in a much more durable kennel. Chica has not escaped the new kennel. She is also experiencing separation anxiety when we are out in the yard and she is inside. Are you thinking about putting in an application for me but you're seeing that I may need some help with training? Not to worry! My adoption comes with training support because The Bond Between wants to help me and my forever family. They know that some dogs need some extra support after adoption and they are all about setting me up for success. You can ask to speak to a trainer if you'd like more information about it. The trainer will tell you that I am worth it!

Story
Hi, my name is Dora. I am from a local MN shelter. Dora is a sweet and bold girl! She is curious, playful, and enjoys a day full of adventure (unless it has to do with water, she's still exploring if she loves it or not)! She loves to be with her human friends! She does well with our resident dog (she has not been introduced to other dogs yet, but slow intros would be best for her). She is curious about our cat and with continued positive interactions, she could do well. She is vocal when she is nervous and she does not like her kennel (when in it, she does bark a lot). She is a puppy and will benefit from continuous positivie training with behavior but with positive reinforcments, she will do well. She is working on her potty training and doing really well! She will stand by the door to let us know when its time to go out. She knows sit and working on shake. Dora is the absolute best girl who will follow you on any adventure. She loves to please and is food motivated. She loves to play fetch and loves to run in our fenced in yard! From the Vet: My foster noticed I was drinking more water than normal so we mentioned it to the vet when I got spayed. Good news is that my labs all cam back normal so there was no indication of underlying disease. I will likely need between 2-6 cups per day depending on activity level, however if I am drinking more than this it may be an indication that I am needing more mental enrichment in my environment to avoid this. My furever family should know about this so they can monitor it and consult a primary vet at their cost after adoption should any issues arise related to this behavior. Can't wait to meet you!

Story
Hi, my name is Beauty. I am from Kentucky. From her foster: Say hello to Beauty, your forever winker and new best friend! Beauty was tragically attacked when she was just 7 weeks old and suffered irreparable damage to one of her eyes as well as a couple fractures near her eye. A compassionate vet in Kentucky performed a surgery to remove her damaged eye prior to her making the trip up to Minnesota to find her forever family! Beauty would never know she's missing an eye and it doesn't seem to negatively impact her at all - the only thing we think would be helpful to keep in mind is when walking her on a leash, it's best to walk on the side she has an eye so she can see you better. But otherwise, she is just a normal, happy puppy! Beauty is half German Shepherd and half Great-Pyrenees and she's got the big paws to prove she's going to be a big girl - likely in the 80-90lb range. She is your typical puppy, who loves to play, eat, and sleep. Rinse and repeat! She LOVES to play with her foster dog siblings and loves toys, bones, and sticks. She does well in her crate when we leave and she also sleeps in a crate and/or pen at night. She is still working on potty training with an occasional accident but does great when let out on a consistent schedule. She is learning quickly and is food motivated which will help with training. Beauty is such a fun and sweet pup and is going to make a great addition to her future family - she can't wait to find out who that will be!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Please apply online to schedule a one-on-one meeting with me - https://underdogrescuemn.com/canine-adoption-application/ DOB: Approximately 5/23/16 Requires another dog in home: Yes, needs another large social dog Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown weigh: 63 pounds Requires a fenced yard: Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hello, my name is Ellen. I am a gorgeous, sweet, and very kind albeit shy adult female German Shepherd. Truth be told, I am afraid of pretty much everything in this enormous world from commotion to loud noises like thunderstorms so a fenced yard is a must. Additionally, I am looking for a VERY special fur-ever family who is lovingly patient and will NEVER give up on me! I have not met any cats or kids, but I am good with other dogs and will need another large dog who will help me feel comfortable and secure! I don’t play much but I’m a smart girl who knows what “go potty” means and I’m potty & leash trained. As for the kennel/crate, foster mom doesn’t put me in that cave because I am an amazingly good girl who simply lays in her bedroom, she can even shut the door if she wants to because I feel safe in there. I am very slowly learning what it’s like to feel safe and loved. In fact, I have become comfortable enough with foster mom that I greet her in the morning by putting my head right next to hers while I patiently await lovingly gentle head scratches! Hint, hint! By the way, I also love butt scratches and ear rubs! Just sayin’! Hee, hee!! Anyway, I really am an incredibly sweet girl who tries SO hard to be brave. All I need now is a calm fur-ever home. Sure, I may not ever be that girl that greets you at the door or gives you kisses but I assure you that I have an enormous heart that is brimming with unconditional love and I long to share with YOU!! All I ask is that you give unconditional love in return and allow me the time, space, and patience I need to become comfortable and learn to trust in my own time! I promise that I’m worth it and in time, I will love you more than all the pebbles of sand on the planet! Love, Ellen *Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!        Hi I'm Rozalynn!  Are you looking for a beautiful girl with the softest fur that you just want to cuddle with forever?  I'm the girl you're looking for!  I love pets and scratches and my tail is always wagging letting everyone know I want to be friends.  When we meet I just might jump right into your arms for snuggles and kisses!  I love to play with my doggie friends, but I could be an only dog too.  I can always entertain myself with toys and bones if you're busy.  I'm so pretty I just might distract you though!  I'm doing great with kennel and potty training and I'm working on leash training.  Since I like to be with my person it's going pretty well.  I also love food and I'm told that's good for something mom calls training.  Sounds like fun to me!  I can't wait to go on walks and hikes with you and just enjoy loving you forever! I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. Story
She was born in November 2022 and adopted from a shelter about a year ago. She is very energetic and would strive with someone who can let her out often, take her to dog parks, has a fenced in yard, etc. She is extremely loving and is looking for someone who can be her best friend! We would love to keep her, but baby number 4 is on the way and we want to rehome her to a family that can give her the attention she needs.

Story
Hi people of San Antonio! My name is Ralf aka Ralfy aka Ralfy Palfy. My fosters gave me the last nickname because they say I will make someone a great Pal. You see, I was found on the side of the road barely alive after being hit by a car. I couldn't walk very well because my pelvis was broken in three places. But after visiting this place called the veterinarian, I started feeling much better. Unfortunately before my accident I had never met kind humans and still to this day, I'm very easily startled and scared of new people. It's going to take someone very special and patient to earn my trust. But once you earn it, I'm the sweetest and most gentle dog ever. I love love love chest rubs and ear scratches. But my number one love of all time is treats!!! I love all flavors so if you decide to take me home, don't be shy when shopping for me! I enjoy sunbathing and relaxing in my kennel. It's my safe place when I feel overwhelmed. I promise to love you if you promise to take the time to get to know me. I will do best in a quiet house with maybe 1 or 2 adults and an older mature doggy friend. I don't care much for traveling and prefer to be a homebody. I do love to play with doggy friends and don't mind cats either. I'm currently working on becoming more confident in public spaces. What do you say? Can you give me a shot? Ralf is kennel trained and potty trained. He is a local adoption only. His current foster is a trainer who is willing to offer two free sessions along with his adoption to set you both up for success and better help you understand what he will need and how you can help provide that for him. He is a Shepherd mix that weighs roughly 50lbs. Local adoption only $200 (in TX)
