5/26/26: Meet Meesha — A Gentle Soul Looking for a Quiet Home
Meesha, lovingly called “Momma,” is an approximately 5-year-old German Shepherd who came to Char-Wills from Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services in Louisiana after her family could no longer keep her. We also believe she may be the mother of one of our previously adopted dogs, Milo.
Meesha is a calm, sensitive girl who thrives in peaceful environments. Loud noises, busy settings, and new people can make her nervous at first, but once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through. She’s incredibly gentle, affectionate, and happiest simply being close to her people.
She knows sit, heel, stay, place, and wait, walks nicely on leash, and does very well off leash once bonded. Meesha is also house trained, crate trained, and has wonderful manners indoors. She rarely barks, enjoys gentle affection, and even has a playful side when it comes to chasing a ball.
Meesha would do best in a quieter home with patient adopters willing to give her time to settle in and build trust. In return, she will reward them with unwavering love, loyalty, and companionship.

4/27/26: See ya later, everyone! I'm being shipped off to the rescue's monthly Prison Program today! While I'm there I'll get some basic training, crate training, and some socialization. I won't be available for adoption until I return to the rescue on May 26th. If you'd like to come meet me when I'm back, please schedule your appointment that Wednesday the 27th. Until then!

Meesha is a beautiful 5-year-old shepherd with a striking mostly black coat accented by touches of tan. She came to us from Louisiana after being surrendered through no fault of her own, and she’s now ready to begin her next chapter with a loving forever family.
Meesha is a sweet girl with a kind disposition who enjoys human companionship and being part of the action. She will benefit from continued training to help refine her manners and build a strong bond with her future family. She’s a smart and determined dog who likes to keep life interesting, including showing off her impressive ability to climb a 6-foot fence if given the opportunity. Because of this, she will need a home that can provide a secure and supervised environment to keep her safe.
Meesha can be reactive toward other dogs, so she is looking for a home where she can truly shine as the one and only pet. She’s ready to embrace her role as the “queen of the castle” and soak up all the love and attention for herself.
She is already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations, making her ready to head home with the right match.

Meesha is a nice girl with a sweet disposition, but she will certainly benefit from training to help polish her manners and set her up for success in her future home. She is also very determined and can climb a 6-foot fence if she wants to, so she’ll need a home prepared to keep her safe and secure.
She is already spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all of her vaccines, making her ready to go home with the right family.
