Story
Bowie is a 1.6 year adorable German Shepherd mix who is the sweetest, snuggliest, goofiest little lover boy and aspiring lap dog. Bowie LOVES his humans and likes to give and receive all the kisses and snuggles. Coming in at 58lbs, he is a great size and will make the perfect med sized adventure buddy! He is a happy boy who loves to play outside in the yard and sniff all the smells, but also knows when it’s time to settle down inside. He’s a great work from home partner! He loves to chase with his humans, play with his ball, go after his teaser wand toy, and allll the BELLY RUBS. This handsome guy has beautiful all over auburn coloring accented with a black snout, white chest, white tippy toes and natural eyeliner and eyelashes that will be the envy of all the ladies, plus the cutest ear standing at attention at all times. He’s a real heartthrob! Bowie is potty trained, has great house manners, loves car rides and is an excellent passenger. Bowie completed obedience school and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and wait. He is continuing to work on his doggie and leash manners. Bowie would thrive in a home with another dog and stay/work at home human. He would also love an active family that enjoys walks, hikes or just snuggling by your side. Bowie is neutered, up-to-date with vaccinations, heartworm tested, (negative) flea/tick prevention given and microchipped. Bowie would make an excellent addition to any family. Located in San Juan County and available to meet anytime! Please email cynthia@pawsforliferescue.net for any questions you may have and to arrange meeting him. Please also include your phone number.

This gentle giant is very curious of feline friends so he would do best in a home without kitties!Health & Care:Neutered and up to date on all vaccinationsHouse-ready and fine in a walk-in kennel when neededIf you’re looking for a big-hearted, fun-loving dog who will bring endless joy and laughter into your life, The Captain is your guy. Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Story
This is Ms. Mila. She was originally my neighbor’s puppy. I got her when she was 18 months when he moved away and couldn’t keep her. She gets along with other dogs but it’s personality dependent. We should meet at a park first if you have other dogs. She loves fetch, running, cheese, and couch snuggles. Herding is hard wired into her. Timid until she gets to know you and so affectionate. It’s hard to give her up but I cant have her and boyfriend’s female dog snapping at each other. If they got along I wouldn’t be writing this ad. Might fair better with a female owner possibly but is ok with men. Shes also good around children.

Story
Robin is happy girl who loves to play but likes her down time as well. She can be very timid when she first meets people but craves attention. Her age is estimated to be 3 years old and she weighs approximately 45-50lbs. In April, Robin was found dumped in a remote park, along with another German Shepherd mix, Batman. She has been in a foster home since then that has helped to build her confidence and trust in people. Robin would love to have another dog to play with, and her ideal family member would be Batman, who is also available for adoption. While they can be adopted separately, they’d be happy to be back together. Robin loves to play ball and will go as long as you’re willing to throw it. She loves other toys as well and will entertain herself. Her home must have a very secure, fenced yard as she is a run risk. She can never be taken off leash outside of a contained yard and we strongly recommend that she wear her harness and be double clipped to her harness and collar on walks. Robin has a strong prey drive and will take care of any moles in your yard but has done well with cats indoors. We aren't sure if a cat was outdoors and ran if her prey drive would kick in, so we suggest a home with no cats or indoor only cats. We also recommend a slow introduction with the cats having a place they can escape to while they adjust to life together. Kids in the home must be dog savvy, and aware enough to know that they can’t forget to close the door.

Story
Due to a generous donation Nicky’s adoption fee has been reduced to $500! He has been with the rescue for over a year and is still searching for his forever people. Meet Nicky! He is 1.5 years old and weighs 50lbs. He is good with other dogs and cats. No young kids, but good with dog savvy older children. Nicky is with a foster in Puyallup. From his foster: Nicky has been waiting for that perfect person to come along. He has received donations to reduce his adoption fee to entice that perfect dog-savvy person to apply for him. He is a 1.5-year-old shepherd mix who is playful and energetic. He loves a good session of zoomies and will happily entertain himself with a squeaky ball for long stretches. He can also settle in for a movie night and cuddled up with his person. Nicky is crate trained but can be trusted out of his crate. He can be timid around unfamiliar guests and will need slow, patient introductions; once he feels comfortable, he becomes affectionate and gives great kisses. Because he is shy around new people, smaller children who might not read his signals are not the best fit right now. He enjoys long walks and does great on a leash in public, and is well-behaved in the car, but he is selective about other dogs who might approach him and appreciates space when needed. He is currently fostered in a home with other large and small breeds, and a cat. He does well with the cat and loves playtime with his foster brothers, but he does prefer his independence from them at times. He knows basic commands like sit and down. He is very treat motivated for more training. He is very affectionate and will develop a strong bond with the person he trusts. He is ready to become a loyal, devoted companion.
