Story
Flokie is an easy going guy. He is incredibly tolerant of puppies and gets along well with all of the other dogs. He hasn't paid attention to cats so has coexisted with them. He loves getting attention but isn't pushy about it. He takes himself to bed at night. He sleeps in an open kennel or on a blanket in my room. He would make a great walking partner and copilot,

Story
I am Vonnegut and am considered a large breed dog. I am young and still lanky, but I will fill out and may get a little taller but not much. I am a very smart dog! When I came to the shelter I knew sit, lay down, stay, come, and wait! I am working on my leash manners while here, but I can pull on the leash hard when I am excited. I am an affectionate and cuddly doggo once I calm down. Right now, I am more interested in getting my wiggles and zoomies out first. I am full of energy, and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise. I love scratches and pets all over and may even cuddle up on your lap when I am comfortable and ready to wind down. Because I have so much energy and I will do best in a home with older children. I can be barrier reactive. This means when I am in my kennel or behind a door or fence in your home I will bark and growl at people walking by until I realize who they are. This is something I would love to work with someone with in training session so that I can stay calm and not look aggressive to those passing me.`So, I hope that you will do the same for the rest of your lives. When things are going sweetly and peacefully, please pause a moment, and the say out loud `if this isn`t nice, what is?` - Kurt Vonnegut

Story
Hi! My name is Laika and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good Samaritan on 7/12/25.I am very smart, affectionate, and motivated to learn! I pick up on new skills quickly and may even be a good candidate for agility training. Because of my history as a stray, I am fearful of other dogs and sometimes strangers, and would be most successful if I have space to build my confidence with minimal stressors - I am not yet ready for the dog park or a home with lots of visitors. I may be shy at first, but once I trust you, I will be incredibly loving and want to be by your side. Because of my high intelligence and work drive, I would do best with a family who is interested in consistent and energetic training. If you`re looking for a loyal dog with lots of love to give, Laika would be a great fit!If you decide to adopt Laika, her foster parents would be happy to set you up with some of her toys and bedding to help her transition to your home.
