Story
Otis is approximately 4 years old, and we really do not know what breed(s) he may be...if we had to guess, we might say there is some German Shepherd and Rottweiler in there? Aside from that, though, Otis loves chasing after a ball and is very smart. He knows how to sit, stay, and shake. He is very excited to meet new people. He has spent very little time with other dogs, but has done well meeting a few. Otis spent much of his young life chained up and neglected before being taken in by a kind woman, who is now unable to care for him because of her own declining health. Otis has such a great temperament and will thrive with proper care and a safe and loving home. It is unknown if he has had exposure to kids. He currently has a large backyard to romp in. He has not had a lot of experience on a leash. He is a very loving dog and has much to offer a new family. Story
Eliie was adopted from a breeder at 9 months old. The breeder was Ampid in Chehalis Washington. She is now 19 months old. She is a sweet girl but needs a lot of training and attention. My husband and I thought we could train her but I think that we are too old 73 and 71, respectively. She loves our grandsons. However, they already have two of their own dogs. I would like to find a loving home for her where she has a family and room to run. I walk her 45 minutes to a hour every day. She loves her walks but she is very distracted by other dogs, rabbits and squirrels. She is a beautiful dog just needs a whole lot of attention and activities to keep her busy.

Meet lovely 3-year-old Kona! Kona is a lovely shepherd mix who needs a new forever home. Beautiful Kona weighs 75lbs and great with both kids and people alike. She is great in the house, very easy going and super affectionate. Kona is currently in a home with kids 6 and older and she loves them, but since she is a big girl we think young children might get knocked down by her energy. Kona loves and approaches everyone she meets- even strangers. She digs affection and loves to be the center of the attention. She wants to be where her people are! Kona is a medium energy girl who loves to play ball and tug of war. Kona plays gently and does not require a lot of physical exertion. She would love an occasional walk too. Kona walks politely on a leash but does need occasional help with her leash reactivity. Kona knows her basic commands: sit, lay down and is working on stay and leave it. She has no aggression to food or toys. Kona loves to be right next to you and is a true “Velcro” dog. She loves to lay on her back and she gets so excited that her entire body wiggles! Kona would love to be the center of your world! Kona is spayed and vaccinated and house trained. To meet Kona, please email her current owner Ashley at missaks14@gmail.com or phone her at 206-596-1764.

Story
Eliie is a 19 Monrh GSD. We acquired her from a breeder. She is a very high spirited young dog who needs good obedience training. She needs a big yard to run and likes to play catch balls. She is good with kids but is very excitable when people come to our house. Ellie needs a young family to guide her. My husband and I are in our seventies and she has too much energy for both of us. My husband is disabled and I am trying to care for him and manage Ellie and it just isn't working. Ellie needs someone who can play with her and walk her everyday. I do walk her twice a day but she is still full of so much energy.

Story
Zeke is full of energy and loves balls. He is generally fine with the other 3 dogs I have but he needs someone who has the time for him. Im a truck driver and it’s so unfair to see him wanting to run or play ball but at the moment we are living out of my car. He needs a lot of training as far as directing his attention. As many fur parents out there know, this is the hardest decision I have to make but I have to do whats best for him. Again he’s great with kids and very protective of his humans. I’m confident there’s a perfect home out there for him than what I can offer him with my living situation.

Story
Maggie is yet another roof top trooper, rescued in Guadalajara, Mexico. She was there a few months after a good Samaritan got her off of the busy streets where she was running in and out of traffic. One of our rescue partners took her case and completed her health protocol. Maggie is now ready for a home of her own! She is still a pup, with a ton of energy. She is smart and eager to learn! Slowly getting better on leash and potty training, as well as basic commands. She sometimes get car sick in rides, but we think this will get better as she gets older. She is ideal for a young family who likes the outdoors and has time to dedicate to Maggie. She doesn't like being left behind for long hours. Ideally, her family should have someone working from home or at home most of the time. A large fully fenced yard is a must for Maggie. She loves to run and frolick in the grass. Oh and she loves food too!

Story
Don't let Layla's age fool you. This lady loves her toys and her walks equally. In fact, she likes to carry her toys on her walks. You'll rarely see Layla without a toy in her mouth. She loves to romp around the shelter play yard...with toys of course. Layla's foster says that she's very sweet and people-oriented. She does like to follow them around the house. Layla has had good bathroom habits in her foster home and appears potty trained and hasn't shown any destructive tendencies. She has also been good about going in a crate and responds to some commands such as "sit" and "stay". She's a very social dog. Layla is located in a foster home, so please email frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org to learn more about her and set up an adoption meet & greet!
