Story
RuRu has typical GSD markings and coloring.RuRu is a sweet giant with great leash manners. He is a very happy dog with a high play drive. He enjoys outdoor life to the fullest. He has a tendency to be dog selective but does well when introduced to less dominate dogs in a controlled environment. He has made great progress walking on a leash and following verbal cues such as sit, stay and down. RuRu is a very confident dog and becomes easily attached to his human. He is highly trainable and will need a patient adopter to continue his training. RuRu will be great in a home with older children. He is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. ##1499383##

Story
Jack is an old soul. He’s a giant, about 100 lbs last checked. But he’s such a sweet, gentle giant. Unfortunately it’s getting too expensive and time consuming to keep him, we don’t have time to care for him properly. He has either mange or seborrhea. Not sure if that’s the same thing. This is an itchy skin condition that makes his hair fall out. The trick is the right shampoo, often enough and the right food. He cannot have any carbs at all. Carbohydrates make his skin worse. This condition also makes him smell really bad, needing more baths. After bathing, or if wet, he needs to be inside to at least dry off. The vet says it would be best if he could live indoors, but we cannot have that in a small house. He loves playing and loves children and babies. He’s never bit or scratched anyone, ever in the 2.5 years we’ve had him. He’s very submissive. I’m really sad to be giving him up, but I just know he could have a much happier life if he had more attention.

Story
Jax is gonna be a big boy! He is currently just barely 3 mo old and already weighs 25lbs! We expect him to be about 75-80lbs when full grown. Maybe even a bit more! He is a very friendly, social puppy that will do best with an active family. He loves to be outside to romp and play with his foster siblings. He is wonderful with the tiny 6lb dog and the large 85lb dog, and all size dogs in between! And he’s great with the kitties! Jax especially loves all people so he doesn’t need other animals in the home, as long as he has plenty of play dates. He has a great temperament and is easy going. A work from home person would be ideal because he will relax near your feet while you’re working. He can be a talkative boy when he wants to go outside or when he’s excited about something. Jax is doing great with his house training. He is very smart and picks up on things very quickly. He will excel with lots of training games. He must have a 6ft, securely fenced yard. Because he is such a young boy, he should not be left alone for more than 4-5hr intervals. He’s wonderful with children but still needs some manners so kids must be over 8yrs old

Story
I’m sadly having to rehome my dog, Lenny. He’s a German shepherd husky mix, we think he’s 5 or 6; I rescued him 2 years ago. He’s dealing with some pretty severe anxiety, I’ve been working with a trainer and his vet but I’m not experienced enough to meet his needs. He has also become more aggressive with my two others dogs and they have to spend a lot of time separated which isn’t an ideal situation. I have a bed, toys, treats, food, and medication that can go with him. I love this dog so much and rehoming him really hurts but he needs more than I can give. He’s really a great dog, he loves his humans and his siblings. He’s UTD on vaccines, neutered, & chipped. He’d do well with an experienced dog owner with a big yard as he struggles severely on the leash. Due to this new aggressive behavior he may do well as the only dog in the home, but he usually does well with his siblings.

Story
Hi! My name is Bear, but my friends call me CareBear. I was adopted in 2021 but returned to the shelter by my previous owner on 4/27/23. My previous owners said I was a great dog, they just couldn`t take me with them. I`m a very sweet but somewhat shy boy. I didn`t get the best socialization as a pup, so I`m still a bit skeptical of novel experiences. Everyone says I`m a typical shepherd - I just want to be with my best pals! Once I get to know you, I`ll stick right by your side. I already know how to sit and lie down on command, and I`ll even sit on my own when I see you pick up my harness. I love walks, after all. My caregivers have noticed that I seem to not to well with other dogs. I seem to be undersocialized when it comes to other dogs so if I am going to be around dogs in the future I am going to need a lot of training. I would do best as the only dog in the home. I`m 93lbs! But I could stand to lose 5 or 10 of those, my ideal weight would be around 85lbs.My personality color is BLUE. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

Story
Hi! My name is Clark and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good Samaritan on 3/11/23. Iam considered a `large breed` dog. I am a big affectionate goofy guy with a lot of love to give. I tilt my head and try to understand what you are saying. Some say that it`s very cute.I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.My caregivers have noticed that I might be dog selective. I am still learning my dog social skills so I am not quite sure how to play. I would do best as the only dog in the home for now. When meeting new dogs I would do best with a slow introduction. I would do best in a home with older children. My personality color is RED. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
Hi there, my name is Vera and I`m available for adoption. My adoption fee is $100.I was brought to RASKC on 5/16/23 after being on the run for more than thirty days! I was so scared they had to catch me in a trap to bring me here. But all that`s behind me now and I`m ready to find a new home. Because of my past experiences, the world can be a scary place to me. I may have some bigger reactions to novel experiences than other dogs. Bikes, cars and scooters have presented challenges for me on walks, but the staff at RASKC have observed that I am very trainable. Being on the run for so long has made me a bit flighty as well, so it`s important I have a secure leash and yard fencing if I`m off leash. Apart from that, I`m a bouncy and happy girl. Everyone says I`m a typical shepherd - I just want to be with my people and please them. I`m very active and could benefit from becoming someones running or hiking buddy with some training. I have a habit of digging holes in the yard so it`s important my new home either doesn`t mind or is prepared to help me learn better behaviors. My personality color is RED. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
Hi! My name is Panzer! I was brought to RASKC by a good samaritan on 5/22/23 after I tried to board a school bus with some children! I really liked them and the person who brought me in agreed that I seem great with kids.I`m 7 years old but I`m young at heart with good amount of energy. My name, Panzer, means tank which is fitting because I`m definitely a large breed dog - I weigh 88lbs! I`ve got the strength to match my size and weight. While I`m generally responsive to my handler I still have some learning to do. My leash skills are moderate - I`m still learning to walk next to a person and not charge ahead all the time - but I do have a solid `sit` command and I`m rapidly learning my new name. My energy level is moderate to high, I will need to get out for regular walks and/or engaging time with my family playing fetch, tug or going for a hike.I came in with my brother Huey, who I get along with very well. The shelter staff thought I might like other dogs too, and they were right! I do like other dogs, though I`m not as interested in or playful with them as I am with my brother. I met with a calm, neutered male of a similar size to me and after a few sniffs I decided to go do my own thing. It would be a good idea for me to meet any potential new housemates before going home with an adopter. It`s important that my new home understands German Shepherds as a breed! I will need someone who is confident in their training ability and able to help me be the best dog I can be! German Shepherds are smart and loyal dogs, however they can also be prone to anxiety and nervousness so its important that my adopter is able to maintain my current confidence level (high) while teaching me new skills. My personality color is GREEN. I am an adaptable dog who loves to go with the flow! I am outgoing and carefree, and I just can`t wait to find my forever home!

Story
Beautiful Noelle needs someone to run with her. This gorgeous, 18mo old, 65lb girl has been in a shelter and foster home for almost four months. She’s overdue for a loving home of her own! During this time, she has received basic training and socialization. She now can walk great on a leash, but she must have an assertive pack leader to help her maintain focus when a squirrel runs by. She thrives on her long walks and hiking trips, and she is polite to dogs she meets on the trails. Typical of her breed, she is a high energy girl so she must have an experienced owner to help tire her out every day. She is a VERY sweet, affectionate girl, too, so lots of cuddle time will also be a must. Noelle is a very social girl that absolutely loves people so a socially active home is best. . She gets along great with other, medium size dogs but would prefer a home of her own. She does ok with calm, dog savvy cats but if they run, she will play chase. It’s best if there are no cats in the home. Noelle is fully crate trained and house trained, and can be left home alone for a reasonable amount of hours. She must have a fenced yard. Children must be over 10yrs old.

Story
I am looking to rehome my 18 month old Dutch Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix, Keeno. He knows basic commands such as, sit, laydown, stay, shake, and more, but needs behavioral/ obedience training. Keeno is hesitant and defensive towards new people from past experiences and is very protective of his owner. He does have on leash reactivity towards animals like birds and rabbits. He is extremely cuddly and loving once he trust you. Keeno has a very high energy level and requires a lot of. exercise. He is trusted off leash and will never leave your sight, but you need to take things slow in order to gain his trust. We currently live in an apartment and are moving soon, so unfortunately he cannot come with. I work long hours and feel its not fair to him that he doesn't get the attention he needs. He needs a home with a yard for him to run around in and someone who has a lot of time for him. If you are interested in rehoming please reach out!
