I am a newly divorced single mama of three kids and two of them have severe disabilities so my plate is too full to give Gerty what she needs. We've recently entered low income housing and cannot keep her. She needs a good family to live out the rest of her days. She is a beautiful and well behaved dog who needs a place to run! You'd be crazy not to pick her! Just be aware that she is an alpha so she will need an introduction in order to suite compatibility with other pets.

In my foster home I get along well in my foster mom and her resident dogs that come in all different sizes! When meeting a dog I would do best with a VERY SLOW introduction. It will probably take me a bit to warm up to another dog, but with consistency we probably can be best friends!I am very smart, affectionate, and motivated to learn! Because of my history as a stray, I am fearful of other dogs and sometimes strangers, and would be most successful if I have space to build my confidence with minimal stressors - I am not yet ready for the dog park (and my never be) or a home with lots of visitors. She is the kind of dog who loves her person with her whole heart. She is clean, expressive, talkative, and full of personality. She enjoys walks, car rides, beach outings, and simply being close to the person she trusts. Her ideal person is someone calm, patient, and emotionally attuned, with the time and heart to build a real bond with her.
