WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. A home with other gentle, confident dogs would be ideal, as she clearly takes comfort in them and often follows their lead both inside and outside. She would thrive in a low-noise household, as she has an extreme sensitivity to sudden movements and loud or unexpected sounds, including noises from the TV or people moving around. Toffee would benefit from an adopter willing to take things slowly, provide reassurance, and support her in building confidence, as well as helping her gradually reach a healthier weight. With time, consistency, and a gentle approach, she has the potential to continue blossoming in the right home.WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Toffee spent her entire life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. When her 'breeders' decided they no longer had a use for her, they planned to discard her. All fees listed include transport fees.** All dogs deserve a great home but some dogs have stories that just break your heart and make you cheer for them just a little more. Dogs like Rowdy deserve a family to show him that his experience up until FWFP with humans are not typical! Rowdy wad dumped in rural Oklahoma in a place famous for dog dumps. He was just a 4 month old little puppy that was sick and left out in the winter cold. He almost did not survive. Today, he is a 3 year old, healthy 37 pound Golden Retriever/ Aussie mix. He loves children, adults, seniors and other dogs! NO CATS! Rowdy is a well mannered little fella. Even though Rowdy has lived on a farm, he is not a digger nor does he climb fences. Rowdy is perfectly crate trained and housebroken. He rides in the car with no problem but needs a little more work with leash training. He needs a new family that can give him more attention and help him with leash training. Rowdy loves to be spoiled with smoked marrow bones and lots of hugs and kisses!.
