No. Rudy is interested in and may chase cats and other small animals like squirrels, bunnies and birds. Good with kids? Not Tested, but he is a gentle giant. Due to his size and the possibility of him accidentally knocking into a smaller person, kids 10+ may be best. Energy level: Medium to Low. He enjoys one or two mellow walks a day, and does well on a leash. He is a buddy dog and loves cuddling. Animal Characteristics: Rudy is sweet, gentle, affectionate and cuddly. I’m a 130-pound Great Dane with an even bigger heart, and I can’t wait to find my forever home!A few things you should know about me: I can be a little nervous when meeting new people. My first meet-and-greet may involve some cautious sniffs while I get comfortable. I’m currently working with my foster parents and a trainer to build my confidence and learn better ways to communicate when I’m unsure. Like many sensitive dogs, I’ve occasionally used quick warning snaps when I feel overwhelmed or confused. Because of this, I need a home that understands canine body language, respects my boundaries, and is committed to continuing my training so I feel safe and supported. I have a high prey drive when wearing a flat collar (those squirrels really test me!), but when I’m on a prong collar, I’m a total gentleman and can calmly pass squirrels and bunnies.Once I know you, I am the sweetest, cuddliest, and most loyal companion you could ask for. I love hugs, kisses, and being close to my people—expect lots of affection!
