ROPER

Great Dane

Male, 5 yrs 10 mos
Littleton, CO
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Roper was running at large in North Texas and found his happy place at a French Bulldog breeder’s property SO if you see some really big FBs you know who the baby daddy is! He got his name because the sheriff roped him to break up the party. Our founder drove him to Colorado and just because of his size, she said people wouldn’t even make eye contact with her at gas stations, especially when she got him out to tinkle. She felt totally safe with him and so happy to have him along for the ride. He is 80-ish pounds and we think Dane and whatever. Roper has since been neutered, is current on vaccines, and has been working with a trainer on general obedience. His best owner would be alpha and keep up his training. This boy is sweet and athletic - watching him run and play is a beautiful thing. Please email dancingdogrescueco@gmail.com for foster or adoption information.

Story
Name: Rudy Breed: Great Dane Sex: Neutered Male Age: 7.5 years Weight: 110 lbs Animal Number: 4301 Sweet, Gentle, Affectionate, Cuddly Good with dogs? Yes, he lives with two resident dogs, one young and energetic, the other older and laid back. He barks at most dogs on leash and is responsive to commands. Good with cats? No. Rudy is interested in and may chase cats and other small animals like squirrels, bunnies and birds. Good with kids? Not Tested, but he is a gentle giant. Due to his size and the possibility of him accidentally knocking into a smaller person, kids 10+ may be best. Energy level: Medium to Low. He enjoys one or two mellow walks a day, and does well on a leash. He is a buddy dog and loves cuddling. Animal Characteristics: Rudy is sweet, gentle, affectionate and cuddly. He has a stunning blue merle coat, a charming smile, soulful eyes and a kind, calm spirit as big as his handsome frame. He is always ready to lean in for love and snuggles. Lovable Rudy lost his comfortable home and doggie sibling when his owner could no longer care for him. Despite the sudden change, Rudy remains a cheerful boy who believes his brighter days are ahead. Rudy is well-mannered, knows how to sit, walks well on a leash, and carries himself with dignity. He happily follows his humans from room to room, then relaxes for a nap on a cozy couch or in his big dog bed. He is worried by loud noises or sudden movements and appreciates the comfort of human companionship. He is friendly, likes meeting new people, and only barks at noises coming from the outside of his home. Rudy is a magnificent pup who is ready to meet his forever family! Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. Story
Meet Loki At 135 pounds of pure love and personality, Loki is a 4-year-old Great Dane looking for his forever home! He’s a big sweetheart who’s powered by snuggles and thrives when he can be close to his people—so he’s hoping to find a human who works from home and doesn’t mind a constant cuddle buddy. Despite his size, Loki still gets the zoomies and loves to romp around when the mood strikes! He’s crate and potty trained, though he’ll let you know (loudly!) if he’s put in a crate without a comfy bed—this guy loves his cozy spots. Loki can be a little cautious when meeting new people and may growl at first, but once he warms up, he’s full of affection—offering endless kisses, hugs, and heart-melting loyalty. He would do well in a home with or without another dog. Because of his size and sensitive nature, a home with Great Dane experience is highly recommended. Loki also has a high prey drive, so consistent leash training is a must to help him stay focused and safe on walks. If you’re looking for a big-hearted companion who will fill your home with love, laughter, and the occasional zoomie, Loki might just be your perfect match. ##2565971##

Story
Meet Huckleberry — the wonderfully clumsy, extra-large goofball who’s about to steal your heart! This sweet boy is still figuring out how to operate all those legs, which makes him equal parts majestic and totally hilarious. But don’t let the goofy exterior fool you — Huckleberry is smart, eager to please, and already sits like an absolute pro. He’s working on “stay,” “wait,” and “lay down,” and you can almost see the gears turning as he looks to his foster for direction. He loves learning. Huckleberry is also a champion walker. He’d happily stroll all day long on his loose leash, politely taking corrections and doing his best to stay on one side — we’re still perfecting that part.  He’s currently underweight and rocks a cozy sweater on outdoor adventures while he works toward a healthier size (and honestly, he looks adorable). He’s a social butterfly, too! Huckleberry plays beautifully with his canine foster sister, has met other dogs like a gentleman, and is cautiously curious about the resident cat (slow introductions in progress!). But the real magic? Huckleberry’s heart. He is a sensitive, gentle giant who LOVES his person with his whole being. He’s a Velcro dog in the best way — always close by, always wanting connection, always ready for a snuggle and leaning in for affection. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a playful pal, and a big ol’ cuddle bug wrapped into one irresistibly long-legged package… Huckleberry is your guy. Come meet this “little big man” — you won’t be able to walk away without falling in love. ##2601986##

Story
Angle is a 4.5 Year Old Great Dane/Smooth Coated Collie Mix. She loves playing with other dogs and ignores cats, unless they want to play. She loves her people and even though she loves playing with other dogs, she really wants her human all to herself. She is also laid back and enjoys a good cuddle and chill on the couch while catching up on some TV. Angle is crate trained, enjoys toys and completely untrustworthy on free roam with high interest items (this includes expensive items; we don’t know how she knows – but she does!) If you think you are Angle's forever home, please complete an adoption application at https://www.savethegiants.com/adoption-process .
